Championship squad values

Recommended Posts

Thought this was somewhat interesting given how money tends to dictate how well teams do and all but other than Fulham it's pretty clear that's not always the case.. Fair play to Luton while we are it given then are 4th in the table and all. And for those wondering according to Transfermarkt our squad is as of this current season worth around £131 million.. No clue where they plucked that from however so take it with a large pinch of salt.

I take it this is the amount they have spent on their current squads, rather than any indication of current value?

Where does the table come from CC?

Our squad is worth about £100m no?

The table isn't the transfer value of the squad currently, It's how much in total the squad cost in total transfer fees.

There is a difference between what the value of a player and his cost. Max Aarons cost nothing but is worth many millions. Some might argue that we have others where the opposite applies😁! (Although, I think they are being too quick to judge.)

If you were to look at last seasons squad and compare it to that chart it'd bet it'd be fairly interesting.

Not quite the small, poor fairytale club some claim.

Never have been. Always been baffled by that. They broke the FFP laws to get into the prem. Spent way over the odds for a lot of players like Grabban, Afobe... What's the capacity of their ground? Massively over-inflated club due to their owner. Without him they are League One - Two yoyo club.

Exactly, their spending records really are something to behold.. No wonder Howe ended up at a club like Newcastle with infinate spendig powers

That's not too bad a list tho. Ake, Mings, Danjuma signed for £45m sold for £85m

Kelly, Lerma, Billing, Brooks, Solanke all still there and decent players.

Ibe, Rico, Afobe fees are a bit iffy.
