Tumbleweed 106 Posted June 27, 2020 Good performance, some immense shifts. Where was that the last two games? Unbelievably we were the better side H2.

Alex Moss 2,167 Posted June 27, 2020 (edited) With or without Klose, we need that same battling grit against Arsenal on Wednesday. Well done to the lads, they put a shift in and I can have no complaints, we were close but not Klose Edited June 27, 2020 by Alex Moss
Tumbleweed 106 Posted June 27, 2020 We would have won that with a full house in the stands.

Branston Pickle 4,149 Posted June 27, 2020 It’s particularly annoying when you consider the second half no-show against Saints. Looking at the league table, just 3 pts from those first two games back would have closed the gap and with a game in hand over Villa. It’s annoying but c’est la vie. Tommo 51 Posted June 27, 2020 Yes a great performance and the lads put everything into the game. Disappointing that Man Utd goals were a combination of good fortune in the ball breaking favourably to the scorers but we really do panic defend in the box. First goal particularly we had 4 players all going to defend/clear the ball and it simply broke to an unmarked Ighalo. How nobody got a boot on the 2nd as well is beyond me. its of course highly unlikely we will survive this season but c’mon compared to other teams who have been relegated in the past who have financially struggled ever since, at least we have a really good shot of bouncing back. The squad that won the championship is that which we have gone with in the prem so at least we have given them the chance to Try and prove they can compete at this level. Some will move on and some new faces arrive as well as academy players come through. The future is looking good for us, we just have to look at the bigger longer term picture rather than just us unfortunately falling short in our prem league survival.
FCC 94 Posted June 27, 2020 Very proud of everyone tonight. So unlucky this season, but the effort was there to see. Hopefully it will give Daniel a lift as well, it can’t have been an easy season for him.
Capt. Pants 5,008 Posted June 27, 2020 Very frustrating that we didn't hit the ground running against Southampton and Everton as ultimately that has cost us our place in this league. Great backs to the wall defending after the sending off - our youngsters and Tettey were immense! I hope we can finish the season strongly, regardless of the results, as it will really stand us in good stead for next season.
Tumbleweed 106 Posted June 27, 2020 Its a bit of a paradox, we have generally been much better against the traditional "top" teams. Despite all our problems we were not outclassed and looked very good at times when we got a bit of swagger back. Strangely only Pukki and Emi in 1H looked off it. Would have liked Idah in place of Drmic but quibbles really.
paddycanary 579 Posted June 27, 2020 Indeed, while bittersweet, it was heartening & relieving to see the bottle & fight is still there. Lots to be proud of on the back of that performance. Nothing to lose now over the last eight games - in a way, the pressure is off so the lads may as well just go for it, ruffle a few feathers, nick a few wins and see how the dice fall. None of us should underestimate the importance of some positive momentum & morale facing into a relegation summer, as expectations to be near the top will be high next season. Well done to DF and all the players! So close to a big scalp.
