Graham Paddons Beard 2,786 Posted November 9, 2019 Putting everything into perspective - how atmospheric was the pre match bugler? I thought it was absolutely fantastic and brilliantly well observed by both sets of fans . Mrs Beard says it came across very well on Sky too. Thank goodness some proper tradition remains.
Feedthewolf 5,885 Posted November 9, 2019 Yes, very emotional. We lost my wife's grandfather last year, he was a musician in the Forces and one of his friends from the Legion played the Last Post at his funeral, so it was a very emotional moment. 1
keelansgrandad 6,680 Posted November 9, 2019 It was one of the best marks of respect I have ever witnessed, certainly at a football ground. The bugler was spot on and the silence "deafening". Top marks to all involved. 1

Monty13 2,736 Posted November 9, 2019 It did indeed come across very well on Sky as well, surprisingly so, was very well done and respected.
lake district canary 4,823 Posted November 9, 2019 Exceptional bugle playing from what the Sky commentator said was a steward at the club. Only a couple of very minor slips with an appropriate and poignant interpretation. Probably the biggest audience he's played for too. Best performance of the night......
Van wink 2,994 Posted November 9, 2019 It made the hairs stand up on my neck, haunting.
