This is the benefit of having a Sporting Director. It is unrealistic to give the manager this much responsibility as between training, match preparation, man management and other duties, he's hardly going to have the time to go out and watch players all over the world.

Or think about his characteristics as a player and whether/how he would enhance the team ?  No, apparently not.

Not only interesting, but very heartening as well

And when you see the quality of players coming through at what would appear to be a far lower cost that previous foreign signings it is a measure of how successful on this side of things we are.

With what looks to be more money being directed at 'recruitment' and coaching we are benefiting immensely, as we are not now needing to sign 'ready made' players ie it is more cost effective to sign players we can develop
