The latter has already changed his testimony once and now special envoy Volker looks like he may have to too...... ...and he did .. very carefully but he did. #KurtVolker, whose prior testimony Republicans cited as evidence of no quid pro quo, now says Ukraine aid was linked to Biden. “In retrospect, I should have seen that connection differently, & had I done so, I would have raised my own objections”
Surfer 1,547 Posted November 20, 2019 (edited) For Jools, before Representative Nunes comes out with his latest conspiracy theory laden opening statement. Ambassador Sondland has also “clarified” his earlier testimony, In his opening statement - submitted in writing before the latest round of public testimony starts. He says that “everyone was in the loop” and there was indeed a quid pro quo, the President of Ukraine knew what he must do to get the military aid released, and all of the US administrations senior cabinet ministers - including the Vice President - were at least aware (and maybe actively involved) with that. And he has e-mails to prove it all. So, not that modern Republicans would ever do anything right for the country anyway, but this guarantees President Trump will now be impeached on a strict party-line vote, and not be convicted in the Senate. Why? The answer is the scandal is revealing that the entire administration and the leadership of the Republican Party is rotten to the core, and is OK with actively sabotaging free elections in the US. if Trump goes down they all go down, and the next in line to be President is the Speaker if the House: Democrat Nancy Pelosi. So obviously compromised by the almighty $ - including but not limited to Russian provided - Saudi or Turkish or domestic monies are OK too - they will either be wiped out at the next election or find a way to hold onto power and then may God help us all. Fascism is very, very close to winning out here in USA. The people of the USA can save themselves but only if our elections are free and fair for all. Yellow Fever 3,793 Posted November 20, 2019 It just gets worse and worse. Who'd want to be associated with Trump ? Likely all tarred by the same brush it seems. Very smelly.

keelansgrandad 6,679 Posted November 20, 2019 It is quite obvious that he is guilty as charged. Today's testimony could not be any clearer. It has no chance in the Senate so obviously he will get away with it. But we can just hope that as he did not win the popular vote last time then perhaps enough who were intrigued to vote for him last time will not vote for him this time. Rock The Boat 1,332 Posted November 21, 2019 So here we have Ambassador Sondland admitting there was no quid pro quo, but something he himself made up. In fact Sondland admits that Trump specifically said he 'wanted nothing, no quid pro quo' And now the facts are out there this stupid impeachment attempt will collapse.
Surfer 1,547 Posted November 21, 2019 RTB - go bury your head in the sand again. For about a year would probably be wise.
Herman 9,780 Posted November 21, 2019 Sondland unequivocally said YES, there was quid pro quo. Where on earth is RTB getting his news from?? Oh, Fox. Oh dear. 🤣

king canary 7,609 Posted November 21, 2019 It'll be interesting to see what Trump and co do from here- the obvious route would be to try and burn Guliani, say he was freelancing and pin it all on him. The danger is how much does Rudy fancy keeping quiet in prison.
keelansgrandad 6,679 Posted November 21, 2019 (edited) I think RTB must be in an alternate universe. The facts are there and don't need interpreting. Edited November 21, 2019 by keelansgrandad
Surfer 1,547 Posted November 21, 2019 (edited) Fiona Hill will be testifying today.... Her opening statement puts a knife in the argument “Russia didn’t attack the 2016 Elections, Ukraine did” that the President and Republicans on this committee have been advancing. Of course I am sure that she will be attacked by those same Republicans as having “dual loyalty” as she is another American who was born overseas. In this case her previous nationality was British..... Edited November 21, 2019 by Surfer
Surfer 1,547 Posted November 21, 2019 (edited) Fiona Hill testifies that Trump thought Kash Patel was in charge of Ukraine matters at the NSC. Vindman was in charge of Ukraine though, she said. Meaning it seemed Patel -- a recently former Nunes staffer -- was delivering Ukraine info straight to Trump. Aha, that same Nunes that is the minority leader on this Impeachment investigation and the one advancing all the conspiracy theories that Russia didn't attack the 2106 elections, Ukraine did. Surfer 1,547 Posted November 21, 2019 (edited) Democrats have been able to show to any reasonable person the core accusations are true, and uncovered through that public testimony that many people in the administration were involved. All the President's men is a Watergate era phase that we may have to repurpose. After Watergate over 40 people went to jail. The process is a busted flush and has been from the beginning. Hunter Biden is a cocaine-snorting, philandering, crook who has gained his position through nepotism when his Dad was the crooked, child-molesting VP of the United States It's over for Hunter the Munter. keelansgrandad 6,679 Posted November 22, 2019 This is getting silly. After two weeks of testimony and clear evidence, it is significant that RTB is the only one left defending Trump. Don't tell him about Father Christmas, Tooth Fairy or Harvey.
