1.
You don''t like Wolfy, fair enough, but while he is wearing our colours a modicum of respect would be appreciated.
Hear hear.
2. I don''t know - I think he''ll be very much part of the first team come august, and will have plenty of time to prove himself. He was a big investment, and as pointed out by many, many people, some players take a season or 2 to get going - so its in our interest to stick with him. As you said, not many teams would spend £8m on him now to take him off our hands, so we either keep him and try to improve him, or we loan him out to someone. But I don''t think we''d consider loaning him out unless he shows no signs of improvement by halfway through next season. To an extent, we *can* afford a passenger or two, if we just want to stay up, sadly - I''d say we''ve got more than two of those this season - and if we stay up it''ll be by the skin of our teeth. If we''re looking to achieve a comfortable mid-table finish, then you''re right - no, we can''t afford any passengers.
3. That''s kind of why I said "if not nasty, commanding". Ruthless might be a better word. I think captains have to come across very confident, commanding, vocal, and should be one of the first names on the teamsheet every week. Whilst Alex has the latter, I don''t see him taking charge of situations, and he seems happy to let others do so. I wonder, does anyone know if he''s captained any sides in the past? Russell Martin I agree doesn''t have a nasty streak - but I also don''t think he''s the ideal captain. I don''t think the captain can be someone who''s not even a definite starter too. I would give it to Snoddy, if not then Howson, and if not then I would give it to RM.
4. Agreed - but probably just because of his wages. Otherwise I think it could be ideal for him - get his confidence back by scoring loads in the championship, (which is probably a weaker league than the Portuguese premiership) ready for a fresh go at the premiership!
5. Wow, just looked at the vote on FB. Over 900 comments and about 800 of them are "Carlo Nash". Whilst it made it chuckle, I don''t think this is actually how the club are going to compile the vote. Probably just something to keep the FB page looking busy. That said, perhaps people seeing that will be inspired to vote for Carlo for the real thing? If this *IS* how they''re compiling the vote, then surely they''d have to rule out Carlo''s votes for looking suspect, and instate the 2nd favourite as the winner? Which appears to be ollsson, or maybe Snoddy.
6. Just thought I''d bump this thread, in light of the United fans now apparently organising an aeroplane to do a fly-by over Old Trafford with a "Moyes Out" banner behind it! That classiness didn''t last long then!
7.
in my life time but sadly not my supporting lifetime! I had it on video, Denis Van Wyk would get sent off for a hand ball like that today! not a good game to watch but who cares!!! I have the match progam somehwere too. My Grandfather gave it to me before he died. I''d give all I had to see us win at Wembley.. still means more than anything to the majority of football fans. I wonder where Waveney Canary was that day?
Yet to exist I would bet!
8.

Just re-watched one of the Wolfswinkel goal compilations on Youtube, and it''s like watching a different player. Here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=HdUL4v2xps4 There are numerous goals in this where he has to beat a player or two, and finish from really tricky angles. Also, some of the finishes are class - little lobs and chips etc. I''ve seen him get into lots of positions like these this season but he just loses the ball, or can''t get it out from under his feet quickly enough. It''s a mystery.. but one thing''s for sure from watching these goals - he''s not just a one-touch poacher, he can do things that give himself that bit of extra space to get the shot away. He just can''t at Norwich yet for some mystery reason.
I''ve just watched this video, which is different from the one I saw, although many of the goals are the same. The bit of yours I''ve highlighted simply isn''t true. Out of the 15 goals I counted (excluding penalties) there is one where he runs from the halfway line and holds off a defender and turns him before shooting. And there is another where he beats the offside trap (so the defenders are all trailing behind) and latches on to a long through-ball and shoots past the keeper. But the rest are poacher goals (almost all one-touch), being on the end of a move and scoring with a shot or a header. He is not beating a player on numerous occasions to score. What I would agree with is that some of the finishes are pretty cute.
OK, "numerous" was being a bit generous - but the fact he does clearly have it in him to take a good touch (see the one where he takes it down in his stride before dinking it over the keeper with the wrong foot), and make space for himself, before shooting - something he appears not to be able to do at city. Plus as we agree his finishing in this video is great - and at Norwich his movement has been good enough to get in some of those tap-in type positions, but his finishing - arguably his strongest point - has been non-existent. It baffles me. I think there is obviously a strong case for Norwich not being as competitive as Sporting in the 2 respective leagues - but then he should still get 5-10 goals a season in my opinion. If he can bulk up over the summer, that should help. Whatever happens, next season is the decider on him.
9. I agree - lovely bloke and in a perfect world that would be enough to be captain material, but I think you need a bit of a nasty streak to be captain. Or if not nasty, commanding. Let him lead by example on the pitch, same with Bassong. Give captaincy to Snoddy or Ruddy I reckon.
10. As Waveney is not in Norwich, aren''t you a plastic anyway? ;)

12.
I never managed the club, you''ve lost me there with this misguided drivel about my good self and NCFC. Consider this: maybe it''s your presence at away games that is putting the players off? The downbeat bemoaning being a supposed supporter or fan? NCFC don''t need such negative plastic fans whom idolise others at another club forgetting that person turned their back.
This just gets weirder and weirder.. you''re arguing with yourself now!? Haha!
13. Indy, and Mr. Brownstone - You''re both quite right, and I made similar points when the fixture list was first announced.
14.

Johnson had a couple of great games, but then he was part of that shambles at Soton. He''s more often part of a shambles than part of a winning team unfortunately.
He will be if he plays regularly for a bottom half Prem club. You could say the same about Ruddy.
Nigel, you''re right but I mean when compared to others in our squad. There''s probably some players that have played a similar number of games to Johnson that have been present in every victory .. whereas Johnson may have only been in the team for a few? I don''t know ..it was a bit of a guess and could be unfair on BJ! I''m sure some stattos could enlighten me?
15. Well, I think he went for a more defensive setup away at Soton, for justifiable reasons, and then went for a more attacking setup at home. I don''t think it''s a question of not knowing his best 11 - its that the best 11 changes depending on form and unfortunately, whether we''re home or away. As others have pointed out - Bassong needed a bit of a kick up the a*se in particular. Snoddy I agree should''ve been dropped in the mid point of the season but was played regardless every week. He''s been great for the past 8 or so games so now deserves to keep his place. Johnson had a couple of great games, but then he was part of that shambles at Soton. He''s more often part of a shambles than part of a winning team unfortunately.
16. There''s never been a player I want to succeed as much as Wolfy (except maybe Cureton''s second coming).. He''s all heart as others have said. If you follow him on twitter its clear to see. Its a bit heartbreaking to see him so bereft of confidence and goals. He was so unlucky at the start - I remember him lashing a few acrobatic chances wide early in the season, had a few good chances saved - then there was the Snoddy pen, the bizarre chested miss against villa, and then injury. Since then he can''t seem to ever give himself a clear strike at goal. I think its a pity Holty had to leave - he would''ve been a fantastic mentor for Wolfy to learn the English game. And holty ccould''ve helped him a lot upfront too. Much like elmander did today. I think he''ll have time over preseason to bulk up, and regain his confidence, and then we''ll see some goals from him.
17. Well here''s another reply in support of Johan to boost the thread up the league a bit :) I thought he was excellent too. He is clearly most effective as part of a front two. Like a Iwan Roberts or a Duncan Ferguson. He is not much good out wide or as a support striker/number 10. Hopefully Hughton knows this now.
18. Hard to pick out any individuals out so far - everyone''s busting a gut, what the hells happened?! Best 1st half this season by a mile. Just when you think hughton might have lost the players they play like this.
19. Great performance so far! Every man playing well. Particularly I''m seeing players carry the ball forwards into space a lot more, there''s more movement, and players are working together to win the ball back. And then OH MY GOD WHAT A GOAL FROM TETTEYYYYYYYYY!!!!!!!
20. Hahaha :) That''s actually very funny, so I''ve changed my mind about you - 1p5wich fan or not - I get it now so feel free to carry on Jack, Waveney, Thorpe End.. All of you!
21. And as if by magic, there we go! What about you Thorpe End, nothing to add? Or The Messiah?! Haha this is weird!
22. So you''re simple jack too. This is like Fight Club. "Schizophrenic 1p5wich Fan makes imaginary life for himself on Norwich City fan boards". Let''s have a head count ..so you''re posting under: Waveney Canary Simple Jack Thorpe End Canary Hootun Out and "The Messiah". Why? Please just go and kick a football, or get a girlfriend or something.
23.
The Messiah has written in stone "How can I come back when I was never there? Judas was there!" I must apologise for my Father only giving you half a brain cell where you were created.
You''ve made *another* account?!
24.

AT LEAST WE SUPPORT OUR LOOCAL TEEM MANCHUSTUR CANAREY BUH. COR BLASS ME GIVE ME OL'' POTTER HARM ANY DAY OF TH'' WEEK.
Best ignore him never goes near the carra, the worst kind of plastic, vocal on here but not at the carra
You really need to get laid lad. This is unhealthy.
