Just three results will guarantee safety
Kangaroo Court replied to charger's topic in Main Discussion - Norwich City

Could somebody work out the scenario for us to finish in 10th position?
No team above us secure a win in their last two matches and West Ham are held to gaining only one more point, While Grant Holt scores fourteen goals as we achieve maximum points. Job done.
Easy then. Why''s everyone fretting about relegation? -
Another one for you, what do you think the ''neutrals'' will think if we did sack Hughton? Unfortunately I could only watch the Villa game online on Saturday, and the commentators had a lot of praise for Hughton. He seems to be a well respected man. Will the general opinion be he''s been unfairly sacked as he only had a limited group of players to work with? Or he''s been fairly sacked as he''s essentially moved backwards from last season.
Newcastle got a lot of stick when they sacked him, so Norwich will be totally ridiculed if they sack a manager who has achieved his target. One good thing is that he seems to have a gift for getting in good quality players at a fair price so there''s every reason to be optimistic for next season.
-
The stated target at the beginning of the season was 17th and as he''s achieved that (Norwich now 9/1 to be relegated on Betfair) I can''t see how he''ll be sacked. Or should be get in Martinez so we can be entertained with "fluent, attacking football" like Wigan?

Look at that half empty stadium. Why is that club even in the Premier League? -
Great idea, let''s make ourselves look like a Championship club with a pitch invasion. We''d look pretty stupid if we were relegated the following week.

How are we gonna beat WBA?
Kangaroo Court replied to Tetteys Jig's topic in Main Discussion - Norwich City
4-2-3-1? OP, you''re not listening to our ''expert'' fans. Nothing less than the diamond formation with Hoolahan at the tip will suffice. After all, it worked in the Championship. -
Wigan Vs Swansea prediction
Kangaroo Court replied to CanaryNewbee's topic in Main Discussion - Norwich City
Even if they win, they''ll be demoralised and exhausted after losing the FA Cup final, then they have a two day break before facing Arsenal away! We just have to do the business against WBA. -
You''re two days late with this "news" OP but I agree with NWC. Why not take up the option so he was available for those crucial two games, then offload some of our unused strikers and keep him as a squad player for next season? We could have sold him on for a profit at a later date. It seems Mcnally is short-sighted and thinking we can''t afford the 2 million if we might get relegated.

Hoolahan sub/Jackson sub
Kangaroo Court replied to Matt Morriss's topic in Main Discussion - Norwich City
As per most matches Hoolahan flattered to deceive. 27 appearances 3 goals (one from 6 inches that was going in) and 2 assists. He looks busy, runs around a lot but delivers very little. Even though he sees so much of the ball I''m sure it must be Hughton''s fault he hasn''t got better stats, after all everything else seems to be Hughton''s fault.
Agree with this. The stats speaks for themselves - he has created very little this season. So why do some ''fans'' boo when he''s taken off? What would they have done instead? Taken off a CM and reverted to Lambert''s diamond formation? You don''t think the new team of Lambert himself would have been able to deal with that? Giving Hoolahan 60 minutes in 4-2-3-1 and then replacing him with an impact striker in a 4-4-2 was very sensible tactics. The booing was just idiotic. -
If Wigan do beat Swansea then Villa are knee deep in it. They''re not going to beat Chelsea meaning they''re final game of the season could still be the decider.

What Changed ?
Kangaroo Court replied to Norfolk Stats Man's topic in Main Discussion - Norwich City
Losing Ruddy made a difference of course but doesn''t explain why our defence is letting a player like Agbonlahor run half way down the pitch without even getting a tackle in. -
Of course losing the best goalkeeper in the country has contributed to our bad form but whatever you think of the management, they''re not total idiots. They''ve obviously made a judgement based on Ruddy''s performances in the development matches and in training that''s he''s not ready. It''s pointless saying things like ''I think Ruddy would have saved it'' as you have no idea whether he would have done or not at his current level or form and fitness.

He conceded 3 in his last development game. You don''t think that might have something to do with him not being picked?

Neutrals support Hughton
Kangaroo Court replied to Kangaroo Court's topic in Main Discussion - Norwich City
Newcastle fans love Hughton and many have said so, including on here. Well, in two games time they will probably have cause to love him even more.
So you''d rather have Pardew than Hughton, even though he''s taken them lower in the league despite having a much bigger transfer budget? -
IF we beat WBA, surely that will be enough?
Kangaroo Court replied to a1canary's topic in Main Discussion - Norwich City
Is it putting a too positive spin on things to suggest that the late Villa goal could be a blessing in disguise? Now we know we must go for the win against WBA so will probably pick up the 3 points rather than being happy with a draw. -

Is booing going to help the team win? Is that going to inspire the substitute and the rest of the team? It was the right substitution but some supporters just won''t let go of their obsession with the diamond formation. Hughton gets criticised for late and early substitutions. He gets criticised for not going for the win and also for not closing up to see out the draw. The truth is we''re a few bad refereeing decisions from the top half but according to some fans he can''t do anything right. -

Should we swap him for Pardew? No manager could have done better with the resources at his disposal. Why do you think Lambert left? -

Give him the chance because he focused on fixing the defence this season and next season he will focus on the attack. -
Bizarre that we didn''t take up the option to buy KK. We would have had him for the next crucial game and could probably have sold him on for a profit if we got in someone better. Now the only options apart from Holt are players with hardly any game time for the most crucial game of the season.

After the idiotic booing of Hughton''s substitution of Hoolahan and chants of ''You don''t know what you''re doing!'' the TV commentator said Norwich fans need to realise they have a good young manager in Chris Hughton and he does know what he''s doing. Now Joey Barton has chipped in with this tweet:''I hope Norwich stay up because of Chris Hughton. They just look the most likely to me. I hope Wigan go. Half empty ground and Whelan''s a *!''The commentator and Barton are both right. The boo-boys need to stop dreaming of Lambert and his diamond formation. We have a good young manager who after a lot of back luck this season can lead us on to better things next season.
