  1. I do this NOW when players are particularly decent in games, or playing at the World Cup or whatever. Bellamy was one of the first I can remember being all "Yep. Bellamy, he used to play for Norwich" Then I do it whenever I see Madders! God knows what it's gonna be like when I'm super old and slightly senile.
  2. Yes we did! After I'd written that I thought... "Oh yeah, mentioned this a while back and a few people changed my mind!" Might have been with regards to Ole at Man Utd. Still, lots of examples where it hasn't worked out so well. But it's an interesting tactic by clubs to do this and bring back an ex legend, in some kind of attempt for fans to have patience. But, like I said, the Chelsea fans for the most part are a bunch of entitled ****wits and they will be booing like crazy after a few bad results. They have a good squad of course, but are going to have to trust in youth a bit more this season by playing a few of the million players they sent out on loan last season.
  3. Hmmm... Thought he'd signed a one year extension but looking again I can't see it confirmed. The talks were ongoing and it seemed as though this was happening. But looking at Transfer Market states he's only contracted until June 2020
  4. Ha! I get what you're saying but none of those shots would have been possible to catch! If they'd have shown him coming for crosses, or from corners, I'm sure you'd see a lot more catches!
  5. Love how he saves a lot of these simply by using his face. On another note... Dan Happe the latest to be linked...
  6. Woah... Don't think I've ever seen this! I am a big fan of TV Go Home and all the bonkers TV listings. Daily Mail Island was always a funny synopsis, but I think my favourite show name ever has to be 'Mick Hucknall's Dolls House Sackbag Prodfest' 😂
  7. Oh... Never saw that one coming... 🙄 I don't really care about it but it's quite an interesting appointment in that I can't really remember a time an ex 'legend' has gone back to a club as manager and it's worked out. It's mainly to appease the fans, I think. They can't sign anyone because of the embargo so, and we've seen it before, get an ex player in who is highly thought of and hope that the fans have patience. Thing is... This is Chelsea and... they won't. I give him 10 games.
  8. Homegrown quota... Literally! I can't see him getting much game time but he will only improve so, decent to get him signed on.
  9. If they were, I wouldn't bloody listen to them! Way too mainstream for me... 😉😉
  10. Yeah it's Maximillian! That's how it should go... I've seen loads of versions... haha! Mind you, when 20 odd thousand are singing it you can't really hear the nuances.
  11. Hmm... No hiding it. Yes he was! But it looks as though Belgium were under a lot of pressure for the majority of the match and, well, we haven't signed him for the first team. However, great goal for Belgium by Verschaeren. Maybe we should get him!
  12. I agree! But I am also hoping some of these signings find their way into the first team in the latter part of this season. Fitzpatrick seems to have played really well, albeit in Scotland, so would be keen to see what he could add. I don't know much about the Belgian dudes, but I'm hoping that they will be stars of the future!
  13. You guys talking about Fahrmann's wife? I can't see her on IG, I think she's called Nadine isn't she? Only one I can find has a private profile. Oh! Hang on! Just did a search for her in NCFC followers and there she is... Hmmm... Sehr interessant!
  14. That's about 26 grand in pounds... I would wager that a few of our players are on that, or close to it, already
  15. Urgh... Lakey admitted at the time that he was being optimistic about 4th and so what? It sure beats reading a load of old moaning and worrying about what might happen. It's cool to have some ambition and a dream. Shouldn't be chastised for it or held accountable to it when it was simply a POST ON A FOOTIE FORUM. Truth is, nobody expected us to be in this position now. Many didn't think we'd get anywhere near playoffs last season, let alone go and win the bloody whole thing! So, I'm with LDC in feeling optimistic about the season ahead. If we get regulated buh... so be ut! I'd rather be dining at the top table than languishing in the servant's quarters like Ip****
  16. Re the bit about him not even getting on the bench and bringing Hanley in... Did anyone mention this might have been because we needed to fulfil the homegrown quota? This thread was a bit TL;DR so I figured I'd ask. Probably been discussed. I would suggest that this is the right kind of reply to make with regards to Passlack, anyhow.
  17. Not saying he will be. Just that he has played deeper as has Kenny. Did you read my post properly? Didn't think so...
  18. Re the DM... We've sort of forgotten about Leitner, who was playing in a deeper lying role and really made it his own. People were saying he was the best midfielder in the Championship before the injury. He isn't as tough in the tackle as someone like Trybull, but plays well there and has the ability to nick the ball away from attacking players and set us on a counter. While I agree we need a double hard b***ard in that position, a midfield enforcer if you will, I am not overly concerned. McLean can play deeper too and has done it well for Scotland recently. I still think we'll sign a CDM and need it, just reminding y'all about Leitner. Who, judging by his IG vids of off season training, is in absolutely magnificent shape for this coming season
  19. I'd suggest you are, ol matey! Remember last season? Most of our signings came completely out of left field, we weren't even linked through the media with a lot of them. As I said in a post a bit further up there, we definitely do need extra players in some areas. I think an attacking AM/Winger, CDM, RB and perhaps another striker (although there are rumours of Rhodes coming back). I think Drmic can play out wide though, or behind the striker so we might see him utilised in that way. But, no, I wouldn't panic! We'll see some interesting developments I am sure. Also, as was said elsewhere, I can't remember a time when we went up to the Prem playing with such a style and with such great young players. They will need help, sure, but I'm thinking that the team will look pretty similar to what it did last season to start with! Just some additions to the squad and maybe one or two new guaranteed starters.
  20. Simon Mbayo... Radio disc jockey To be fair, this lad has started a few games in the Belgian top flight, albeit for a relegated team. However, he must have something about him as he's also been involved in the first team's pre season friendlies.
  21. Yes, agree with that. I feel like it would have been difficult for him to displace those guys, but I thought he was more of an attacking player? More like a potential competitor to Stiepi in the 10 position. I don't think we can underestimate how many decent attacking players we already have at our disposal but the way Farke likes to play puts emphasis on that type of player. Creative and combative is what we like and Krovinovic would have ticked those boxes. Strength in depth and all that so while I agree we need a CDM and RB I'd also like to see an additional striker and another 10 type. Having said that, I heard a rumbling that Idah was going on pre-season with the first team and what an exciting player he has the potential to be.
  22. Looks as though WBA have now arranged a loan deal for Krovinovic. Can't help but think the Bilic factor played a part there.
  23. Totally. I understand that for sure. But no companies can exist and run at a loss! That's capitalism, my friends! Nope. They don't care about the end user so much. They are businesses after all and have to make money. I'm not much of a gambler... Never really won anything when I've tried! But I am from the coast and grew up working in arcades and stuff like that. So I've also seen some people spend money they didn't really have spare on fruit machines. The rush comes from that one win you have here and there that you feel has made up for the losses. Problem is, it never really does! So I do get it. But I don't think that a shirt will influence ones gambling preferences. If someone has a problem with that, they don't need encouraging! They'll do it anyway.
