1. Had heard that his wife and children had gone back to London having failed to settle in locally and he was living in a flat by himself. If that is true, knowing what a passionate character he is, must be tearing him apart being away from the family, so I would not be suprised if he moved to a London club. Wouldnt be very happy about it, but could see reasons why he may be tempted.
2. Eadie for me. Better goal scorer, quicker and as others have said, played in a poorer team, yet still shined. It was a real shame that injury cut short his career. Great bloke too.
3. Personally, I think Worthington "lights up my senses like a gallon of magnet"
4. Thanks for your kind words. Re Transfer rumour, well Tonge is top quality and the other guy whose name is difficult to spell is also top drawer. Get Sunday out of the way, and Worthington will be out shopping!!
5. Mr Wizard, shouldn''t it be pronounced "lowstuff" if you are resident in the most easterly town in England? Don''t wish to be picky, and I am not American, so please be gentle. I don''t want a spell which casts me into message board oblivion, and inflicts me with a horse on my chest and Kuqi on my back.
6. Yes, Murderers will be good, also worth a look in Squares, always busy pre football on match days, so bound to be a few down there. Also recommend Trafford Arms or Ketts Tavern. Both great pubs with great landlords!!
7. Like it or not, it is the truth. Get over it. Morrison hit the bar twice didnt he? Does this make him rubbish?? You have to say that we were poor, and extremely lucky to get the win, but win we did, and perhaps he feels hurt by it, any manager would. Bruce will have a special place in my heart for his famous header, but at the end of the day,his "facts" speak for themselves. Birmingham have struggled a bit this year, but to think how much they spent in the summer time (not always on the best players I hasten to add) shows everybody how far they have come in a short time. If we stay up on Sunday, we may be saying similar things this time next year when we have won away at Wigan, Preston, etc.
8. Good god Marmite, that is disgusting. Hope someone had the courage to get him or her chucked out. I sit in the City stand, close to snake pit end, and certainly any booing was for Safri going off, as nobody knew he was injured. It may also have been because Francis was disgustingly bad on Saturday (how he was second in player of the season is beyond me) and a lot of people thought he would be the one making the walk to make way for Holt. I think that the first post which started this thread off really shows the frustration that passionate positive people have, especially when they take their children to football, that seats around them are taken by negative, glass half empty types who take great pleasure in criticising everything around them, without taking consideration of the effects that this has on other people. Still, perhaps they are really spurs fans who will wear their shirts when norwich play "their team".
9. This sounds like a bit of an unlikely story to me. Not that I am calling you or your mate a liar you understand. Anyway, on a personal note, I will always love bellers, as he did a great job for us while he was here, and perhaps when he left he was playing at a level above his colleagues at the time, with a few notable exceptions. Whenever you read his interviews, he always has a kind word to say about Norwich (much more than he does about Coventry!) Also, his texts to that smug Shearer this week made me smile. Good on you Craig!
10. Nice one. I have got to say that the "Deano" "Leon" "Yousseff" chants are so dull and unimaginative, we need something with a little bit more substance, like "follow follow follow" which is a top class chant.
11. At least Canary Fairy gets behind the team. Agreed, he is a tad eccentric, but there is no doubt that he is a "true" fan. And dont pick on Roy Blower. How is he annoying or embarassing? He does a lot of good work. Would have to go with : 1) Bernard Matthews (for having millions, yet no obvious signs on the surface of helping his local club, and the people/workers who brought him success) 2) Alan Partridge (needs no introduction, but funny all the same) 3) The guy at the ground who makes the "Mr Carrow" announcements. Nothing wrong with a norfolk accent, before anybody accuses me of being a "foreigner" but it can be a little embarassing when he makes the famous statement.
12. I noticed that as well. It''s a shame, but he had ample opportunity to say something, and I think his co-presenter was trying to lead him into saying something, but he patently did not want to. It''s a pity, as he seems to be in the same mould as Tim Sherwood, etc, who soon forget who paid thier wages once upon a time.
13. No, my opinion remain the same. You can still have style and get results, you just need the players/management/coaching to do so.
14. The percentage of our games after which people have criticised Edworthy when he has quite clearly played no worse than any of our so called defenders? The glue content of Huckerby''s hair products? The gravy content of our pies?
15. So? He will be off in the summer in any event.
16.
I especially think most of the fans of London Clubs are bad plus Man Utd and also Wolves because they think they are so brilliant'' and should be higher than they really should and their sheer arrogan...
Having a go at a spurs supporting child with their mother is absolutely pathetic and whoever did it should be ashamed of themselves. No need for it in my opinion. However, to go back to topic, in no particular order 1) Wolves 2) Man Utd 3) Liverpool (the friendly scouse scally tag is a complete myth) 4) Birmingham City As a complete constrast, the best I would have to say are Man City. Superb support, home and away, and having been with a mate to a few of their away games as a complete stranger with a non-manc accent, I was made to feel most welcome. Top club.
17. For those of you who have access to the EDP (which is the Eastern Daily Press for the un-initiated), have a look at today''s letters page. There is an excellent letter which just about sums up how a lot of us are feeling at the moment.
18. Great comment, thanks. Look forward to hearing from you again soon.
19. Out on a limb here I guess, but I don''t give a monkeys. 1) Edworthy 2) Huckerby (do not see the Hux thing, too much like fries, what is wrong with chips!!) 3) Ashton Super Shaun Carey carefully puts flame suit on, protective gloves on, mask down, prepares for replies!
20. Training starts off at 9 am sharp The players slowly arrive, driving carefully to avoid any stone chips. Upon departing their various 4x4''s, Porsches, etc, they then compare alloy wheels and check for stone chips. After leaving the car, each player checks his mobile phone, rings his agent/mum/bookies/girlfriend, and then a quick twenty five minute discussion commences over the contents of each players I-Pod. After entering the changing rooms, it can sometimes take up to two hours to get undressed. Those Patek Phillipe watches have very fiddly clasps, and sometimes even Doug Livermore has to help the younger players Quick kick about Home by 1.
21. Good post DD, kind of puts things in perspective I feel. Also, Zippers, David Bentley was done for speeding and not drink driving. Huge difference.
22. Totally agree with that, a very dignified comment from Mr Keegan. Along with Harry Redknapp, surely the most generous, honest, straightforward managers in the premiership.
