  1. On main page now - seems this might have been a mistake. Fail to see how any fans could be expected to get from norfolk to wigan for midday on a sunday.
  2. No, i haven't. Sounds interesting, I'll stick it on the reading list. 👍 As far as I know, they still have the smaller pitches / team sizes. I wonder what they might have changed since I left.
  3. I thought Millwall was his best game for a long time. I was a bit concerned that he was playing it a bit safe, but was really pleased on Saturday. Lots of willingness to take on his man, rather than continually cut back (not that there's anything wrong with just retaining possession)
  4. I spent time as a kid in Germany and played lots of german youth football (including against some pro youth teams). The culture is unsurprisingly different over there. You rarely get the stereotypical chris wilder type manager, barking at his players to get stuck in, it's just more refined, and (from my anecdotal experience) you get a wider cross section of kids playing football (from a socio-economic perspective). And don't get me started on how far German youth football was ahead of british youth football when I came back. The technique of the average player in Germany was just so much better than back here, principally due to smaller pitches and playing 7 a side up to around 15 or 16 (can't quite remember when it changes over).
  5. I love me a bit of Stieppi, but he's been dreadful with the ball today, despite scoring.
  6. Agreed. But this chap's been consistently poor, rather than shockingly. Lots of small, bad decisions, rather than a couple large ones.
  7. Fairly self-explanatory. Millwall have been grappling / pulling shirts, leaving feet in / up, etc, etc.
  8. Ref has been watching millwall foul us all game. Is getting on my nerves.
  9. That's a fair point, but I would rather not be able to defend a corner, and play like we do in possession, than defend a corner and play hoofball.
  10. I like the pompous feeling I get from whitelisting the Pinkun on adblocker. Feels great to support quality, local journalism (cue League of Gentleman quote) with absolutely no effort on my part. Well, I'm being a bit harsh on myself actually, I bought the most recent pinkun magazine, and that took at least 3 clicks and £5 odd.
  11. In all honesty, I find the insistence on parading non-footballing staff out for interviews with the media all a bit tedious. I have no doubt they do an excellent job, but it's always about as interesting as watching songs of praise, without any songs, or praise.
  12. Doesn't he handle business stuff? I don't imagine that openness / being personable is a particularly useful personality trait in this area, so not @rsed. Assuming that it is a business role, I don't recall McNally being particularly nicey nice either, but got the job done.
  13. Dear Norwich City, How are you? I'm great thanks. Thing is, I'm in my mid-30s now, so I'm concerned about my heart-health. If you could stop nearly causing me a heart attack (almost) every game, my aorta will thank you. Yours palpitation-y, Orly
  14. Just back. Trybull MOM for me, but could have gone to anyone really. Not a single mediocre performance.
  15. Not really. Typical championship game. Although not as bad as the 0-0 I witnessed at Preston back when we had Chris Brown up front, and Fotheringham captain (worst game of football, ever).
  16. Frankly, I'd give up on this one and rest Buendia and Pukki. We'll need them Saturday.
  17. I've been analysing the numbers and I can confirm, we've been rubbish. Worst performance of season so far. Tetty, Stiepermann (and I'm not even including penalty miss) and Trybull all been very poor. We seen to have forgotten how to press as a unit. Preston have been good, but they've had more than their fair share of lucky bounces / ricochets in middle of park. Although, in the interests of fairness, our penalty was soft.
  18. Pukki / Buendia / Aarons for me. But still so many games to go, anyone could make a run for it. Leitner out too long with injury unless he immediately wins his place back and continues the same level of performance. And as much as I think he's a great player, a key component of Farke's philisophy is to put faith in the people who started the last game, if they played well, in which case, I expect Trybull to retain his place, at least for now.
  19. On main page now that Lambert has complained that steward pushed him. Full quote: "The steward pushed me very hard Totally uncalled for. He pushed very hard. He pushed me so hard, that by the time I realised where I was, I was managing Nuneaton Borough in the National League North".
  20. I would have liked to think that I'd maintain my sympathy, because out of all the many deliberately dirty challenges Ipswich and other teams have put in, that wasn't one of them. Then again, I do like a good pitchfork wave and a moan about Ipswich, so I'll guess we'll never know 🙂
  21. Agreed - provided there's some kind of binding agreement where they have to keep 'being worse than us', at all times.
