  1. The Fashanu program was absolute pure gold. I really enjoyed that Nigel. Thank you very much. I attended the same gym that Justin trained in when he boxed, Watton ABC. He was a few years older than I was, and I can remember being in awe of him as an athlete. Fashanu junior however to some extent bathed in Justin`s reflected glory and a somewhat more outspoken demenour! RIP Justin, you were a true legend.
  2. ............ look set to disappear up there own a$$hole.
  3. The loss against Sunderland was a combination of `new manager` syndrome and Lambert believing he was still the apprentice. We will lose more games, and for different reasons to the above, but Lambert is astute, he learns from his mistakes and he is adept at second guessing his opponents. Therefore we will win plenty more games. The acid test this season has shown that Norwich City as a football club have come a long way since the decline began after Worthington had peaked. Only a fool would deny this. The next test of this outfit as whole surely comes with manner that we go about next season.
  4. The Swansea fans seem like a good enough bunch on that site, they have accepted that they were beaten by a better side on the day. Which is no mean feat considering the teams that have left there empty handed. Ive read opposing teams forums on the odd occasion, and I feel that the Swans and the Baggies are decent footie fans who appear to call it as it is........hat`s off to em I say.
  5. .........described by Sky Sports as a "real striker`s goal" Hmmmmm, somewhat reminiscent of a certain Grant Holt goal against Everton I believe, maybe you might say Holt`s effort was showed more skill, as he was more surrounded by defenders.
  6. Until any team, excepting the big guns, is mathematically safe from relegation, effectively they are in a relegation battle. However, I have faith that we will not be relegated, and I have faith that we will finish comfortably out of the relegation zone, but this is by no means a given, there are 18 matches and a plethora of what if scenarios to be played out before that. What is very heartening is the tenacity of the team as instilled from Lambert, and the fact that he is the genuine article as a Manager and Coach. You also make a very good point about the demands of the Premier league, a point that wasn`t lost Geoff Stelling, who pointed out that relatively, we have depth to our squad, which is evident in Mr Lambert`s team selections.
  7. Whilst a draw would have been acceptable, to take all 3 points is absolutely terrific for us. I feel that in the final reckoning come May, we will look back to the fortune favouring us today. I know many will say it was down to the triple substitution, but another day Barton would have stayed on the pitch to be pivotal in getting something out of the game.
  8. We have no need to go to the Black Country for Morons.......We have enough come on this forum.
  9. All they seem to be saying is Wolves this Wolves that, it`s a bit irritating..
  10. Don`t worry about answering my question City 1st, I don`t want to know. I do respectfully request however, that you no longer reply to my posts with sarcasm.
  11. Sarcasm? Patronisation? I don`t care for either. And as I have not even engaged you directly City1st, let alone use sarcasm or patronise you, I ask the question again, why do you feel it necessary to reply to my post with sarcasm?
  12. Also, let me ask you this, a new poster comes to this messageboard, airs his views, and is swiftly put down by an existing user, is this the way to promote a healthy discussion surrounding our football club?
  13. City 1st, I`m quite sure you know exactly what I mean, but you choose instead to post a sarcastic reply. Why?
  14. Lambert is playing a blinder, no doubt that he has the squad of players punching above their weight though, no doubt whatsoever. But I`m happy for that to remain the case till the end of the season, and if it is 17th, then so be it. Although my hunch is better than that, maybe as high as 12th.
  15. Yes, I`m happy that we are adopting a score more goals than the opposition policy, let`s just hope that we don`t go the way of Blackpool........who had 2 more points than we have this time last year.
  16. Oh yes, I almost forget about the xmas lore that is bottom team always goes down. Is that still the case? I have to agree with your point of supporting the top teams, and with our current position, there are always several results to look for. I did sort of watch the QPR v Man U game, (it`s still difficult to watch an entire match that has little bearing except for keeping a team below us) and I slightly disagree about QPR, Smooth, as I thought that they gave a reasonable account of themselves, that save by DeGea, skill, luck or whatever it was was pivotal in my opinion, goals definitely DO change games. Also,, Wigan didn`t really look like a bottom 3 side yesterday from the highlights I saw.
  17. Well Smooth, that sums up what I didn`t put in my my original post. What is your opinion now, on our final finishing place? I still don`t see that either Bolton or Blackburn are necessarily doomed at the present time, although if I were a fan of either, I would be praying for an upturn in form. I do feel that our current position in the league is very comfortable, however, the second half of the season has sucked many well placed teams into a relegation struggle, although I am by no means suggesting the pessimistic view that we will succumb in a similar manner, more of the realistic view that to survive must be seen as the overriding goal this season. I rarely post on here by the way, but I do enjoy reading the input of most of the posters. It is good see a broad spectrum of opinion.
  18. It does show it`s not just down to how your own team plays........
  19. Hahaha.....like it, was more complimentary than derogatory. Good to read an impartial view on the legend that is Grant Holt and for it to be largely positive.
  20. ]It''s amazing that Swansea do not have household names in their backine, yet eyve kept 7 clean sheets (I think) already this season. How do they defend differently to us? Or do they play a more defensive minded game? Regrettably I think they have a better keeper! Sadly I have to agree with you Largey, but by the same token, he hasn`t embarrassed himself, or us. We would all like to see a world class keeper, which Voor has shown himself to be, but if you watch Morison`s header, and indeed Holt`s, we have some bloody good strikers.
  21. Given the squad that was promoted, the amount of money Lambert has spent, and the fact you can honestly say are luck has been at best neutral.....we should be standing in awe looking at that frickin table.
