Thank you mister Holt!!Lincoln, on paper the fans have every right to believe this game was won before it had begun.I would not normally say that about any other team this season, even against Layton Orient I didn''t ''expect'' a win.But Doncaster have so many injuries that it can''t be easy for them at all.

Lambert could have cost us promotion
milehighcanary replied to priceyrice's topic in Main Discussion - Norwich City
Yes, he could have, but maybe he hasn''t. We wont know until the end of the season. But if you believe the Doc was the difference between gaining promotion or not, then I would find it difficult to take the question seriously in the first place. Sorry. -
Listen, if we''re playing a team that has roughly 8 first team members out through injury or suspension, has picked up 3 points from the last 27 - (last 9 games are 1 - 8), have scored 3 goals in the last 810 minutes of play while conceding 25, (with their last goal coming on Feb. 1st.) and we have Hoolahan, Landsbury, Surman, Holt, Fox, Wilbrham and Crofts as our attacking force and only win the game 1-0, at home..... then we have a genuine problem. We should crush Doncaster and crush them hard, because every other team around us still has to play them and if Doncaster hasn''t found a solution by then, then they''ll crush them too. This has nothing to do with arrogance or ignorance. This has everything to do with confidence. After the way the boys played against, Reading and the 2nd half against Leeds, and with Doncaster playing with so many replacement players, we should win this one. In fact, it should be an attacking training session. As someone who is a coach I can tell you that PL will be telling the boys to be patient and let Doncaster show their vulnerabilities and tension points. Play the ball wide and around the 18 to see how they react, what space opens up and how well do they mark. I''m expecting Norwich to control this game with relative ease. What I would really like to see is a little more composure from our strikers today. Can they put the majority of their shots on frame and really make the keeper work, instead of ballooning them. Adding to that, I''m becoming a fan of Holt, ever since he pulled that goal out of thin air against Burnley.Norwich: 6 - Doncaster: 0

"whereas the home atmosphere is ruined by too many kids and families"Uhhhh..... aren''t the kids the future of your club? Aren''t the families the ones who are buying 3 or 4 tickets at a time and paying the player''s salaries?Wow.... -
Will Lambert change the team for Doncaster?
milehighcanary replied to silver fox's topic in Main Discussion - Norwich City
I think this line up looks good, but I''d make two changes:Tierney for Drury - Simply because defensively this game should not be a challenge and it will let Tierney see our game plan in action with little pressure.Wes on the outside, with Lansbury in behind Holt - Wes is able to beat his man time and again down the line and whip in the cross, while Lansbury has a better shot from distance, so he should be in or around the top of the box. -
Why we don't try a 4-5-1
milehighcanary replied to The 12th Devine's topic in Main Discussion - Norwich City
A coach who describes their line-up as a 4-5-1 is really disguising how their team is going to utilize the extra midfielder. With the team I coach, I use a 4-2-3-1 and each row of players has a distinct responsibility, depending on who has the ball and where it is on the field. When we are attacking, we look like a 3-1-4-2 and are awesome at it. When defending we look like crap, but it should be a 5-4-1.So it''s really down to preference. -
Why we don't try a 4-5-1
milehighcanary replied to The 12th Devine's topic in Main Discussion - Norwich City
A 4-5-1 is not the same as a 4-2-3-1. If that were so, then a 4-1-4-1 would also be a 4-5-1 and you could even say that they way some teams line up as a 4-3-3, could be viewed as a 4-5-1.The reason for the numerical distinction is to give an understanding that with a 4-2-3-1 you have four units, or lines of players on the field; wereas with a 4-5-1 you image only three. How the 5 in midfield are lined up will determine the genuine formation.Personally I always feel that Heisenberg''s uncertainty principal comes into play when talking about formations. The more you narrow down the numerical formation, the more difficult it is to understand the dynamics of the shape. The more you discuss the dynamics of a formation, the more difficult it is to identify the numerical shape. Is it a C# or a Db? -

I''m just up the road Marv, in Boulder. For all of the English folk who need a mental reference point, that''s where Mork and Mindy lived. And yes, it is a little quirky, but not as quirky as Glastonbury! -

Thanks for the welcome, PurpleCanary.Yes, I am a coach and I run my own youth soccer academy. I coach players from 7 to 18 years old. My Developmental Program focuses primarily on the 7, 8 & 9 year old players, because American parents lack the understanding of how to coach youth players in soccer players in the fundamentals.I''m scheduled to take my U12 boys team to London next month to train with Chelsea for a week. I was hoping to catch the Norwich game on the Saturday we arrive, March 19th, except Norwich are away at Hull and there''s no game on the 26th, due to the international break. Kick in the teeth that. So instead I''m going to have to watch Chelsea play Man City. As for the official message board, unfortunately it is true what you say; it has gone from bad, to worse, and recently to down right nonsensical finger pointing. It''s a shame really.Anyway, I shall look out for your future posts and be sure to ignore every word! -

Thanks everyone for your reviews and feedback of the game. It really is a treat to have you folks offer such first hand info. Being in America I''m only able to listen on the radio, which is always quality commentary, but it''s good stuff also to read what the fans in the stand have to say.As for the singing, I thought I heard a fair amount from the away fans, considering you guys were up against 28,000 leeds fans! It was very cool to hear all of the singing in the back ground and it always makes me smile. If I close my eyes it''s almost -not quite, but you know what I mean- like I''m back in my living room when I lived on Carrow road.Keep up the great feedback and the great songs!Cheers -
Doncaster's Injury List for Tuesday
milehighcanary replied to ca's topic in Main Discussion - Norwich City
"Would rather not be playing them like this would you?"It''s the nature of the beast. We''re in a promotion run, so I''d like us to sink them 6-0 to boost the goal difference. Heck I''d take an 8 - 0! Because the way the promotion race is shaping up, goal difference could very well determine who nicks the 2nd spot!!! -
I personally see Forest fading now.Their schedule looks like:Feb: 13th (d), 16th (l), 19th, 22nd, 26th March 1st, 5th, 8th, 12th That''s 9 games in 1 month!!!I don''t care how good they are as a team, no one can maintain their fitness and form at the level required to contend for that length of time. They surely will drop more points along the way.

City 1st and Burry Yellow are spot on. If others wish to twist the details to create the perception that the players of NCFC are cheaters, then let them. It''s simply untrue. Finally Norwich City FC have a backroom who knows how to coach the team to play tough and fight for every ball. Those who say that NCFC players are cheaters, do so simply because they have no other way of explaining our success. Those who say NCFC players are cheaters are idiots and I have no time for them, nor do I value their opinion.

Norwich City's success built on their own players
milehighcanary replied to Panic's topic in Main Discussion - Norwich City
That, along with Lambert''s brilliant trait of finding a lower league "gem" I''m sorry, but if you look at the ''lower league gems'', such as Johnson, Jackson, Wilbrham, and McNamee, they haven''t really found their footing at this level. However Fox has also come from a lower level of play and has been amazing. I would like to see Tierney get a few starts so we can see what we have in him.
