1. Apparently Lambert is taking him to Villa.
 2.
Anyone know if he is back at work yet ??
I heard he''s gone on the sick.
 3. I think the thing that is different with GH though is that his strongest attributes (as I said before) aren''t the type of attribute which are the most likely to suffer from age. I''m not sure if GH''s stamina is one of his best attributes. His strength, positioning and agility for a big guy are.So if GH is 31 now and we give him a 3 year deal that means he''ll be 34 when it expires. 34 isn''t old, but it is an old age to be a striker in the EPL. The question is whether GH would be the kind of player to stick around to earn his EPL pay whilst knowing he won''t be playing? I reckon he''d want to play and would take a pay cut to do so, so he''d move.
 4.
The physical attributes of Holts'' game (strength, stamina) will start to fade, anyone thinking otherwise is kidding themselves. To compare Pirlo, a deep lying playmaker who expends as little energy as possible for maximum results, to Grant Holt is laughable. If Holt stays professional and works harder year after year to just keep his physical attributes as they are, then maybe he could play at the top level for another two years (any longer and he would be a bit part player at best). I love Grant Holt and his style, but it is, quite frankly, baffling that Holt is even being compared with Pirlo who plays in a completely different way in a much less physically demanding league.
That''s a short sighted view. Do you think that Pirlo has always played that way or do you think he adapted his game with age? Similar to Giggs.I wasn''t comparing Grant Holt with Pirlo, perhaps I''ve given you too much credit on your ability to read into a comment. I''ll reiterate my point:AC Milan saw Pirlo as too old > They released him.Norwich say Holt is too old for a 3 year contract > They risk losing him as a resultMy point was whether the circumstances are the same and whether Holt could go on to another club and prove the club wrong.Does that make it easier for you to understand? Just for a final bit of clarification for you: I am not comparing Pirlo as a player in any capacity to Grant Holt. Purely circumstantial.
 5.

I''d be worried if CM was offered a 3 year deal but not Surman.
Cody isn''t with us anymore.
Indeed, so he is not the player I''m referring to.
Chris Martin?
 6.
Interestingly enough Pirlo was also handed a 3 year contract by Juventus. I guess the difference between someone like Pirlo and Holt is that Pirlo is a supreb technician. That ability never really leaves you as have been shown by the performances of Giggs and Scholes this season. So it allows you to prolong your career. Holt is a very clever player but has an all action style and relies heavily on the physical attributes of his game. Could there be an argument his career has a shorter shelf life as result? Then again I guess you look at someone like Kevin Davies who is a similar type of player and he is still playing at 35. I guess it ulimately depends on the individual, how their body holds up and what their lifestyle is like.
I think you make a great point. Although thankfully Holts game very rarely relies on pace and when it does it''s more thanks to his positioning and his pace isn''t great.I think his position does suffer more from age but his best attributes (Strength, positioning) don''t so much. I guess his agility will be the real cruncher. But then again look how much more agile he has been this season that previous seasons. He seemed to have really upped his game as shown by goals like the one against Everton.
 7. I remember reading somewhere that Bellamy is actually a model pro as far as health, fitness and training goes. I found it quite hard to believe at the time as he was the bad boy of the sport before Joey Barton took his role.I can see him going to Cardiff. Remember he went there before on loan from Man City and when we played them at CR he didn''t seem to show any affection to us. I also remember him stating to the press before hand that he wouldn''t show us any affection.
 8.

I wish people would understand that what is at stake at raising our wages for one player is much more than what that would actually cost the club.If we pay Bellamy £60k it would seriously p155 off the other players who are on a fraction of that causing unrest. Secondly it''d c0ck up any future transfer targets. If we''re approaching player Joe Bloggs and he knows that are top earner is Grant Holt on £20k a year after fighting tooth and nail to get that deal Joe Bloggs isn''t going to expect any more than that. But if Joe Bloggs knows Bellamy is on £60k he''ll want something relative.
1. I wish people would understand that we are now playing in the Premier League which is extremely tough and hard for us not to be relegated. Staying up this season is even more important than ever because the next TV income deal is enormous and we don''t want to get relegated and miss out.2. 99% of players will choose the club that offers them the most money. NCFC would still only offer players what NCFC think they are worth NOT what the player thinks he is worth.3. Bellamy probably is worth £60k a week for a season if on a free transfer and if he might be the difference between staying-up or relegation.4. I think a front 2 of Holt and Bellamy would be an excellent combination. Bellamy can also play out wide.5. Bellamy still speaks very highly of Norwich and his time at the club.
Good points and for the most part I agree. However, I think our strategy of finding quality up and coming players has served us well and it also kind of locks us into that strategy for the future. At least for the short term future. We can''t mix low paid (relatively) up and coming players with high paid players who are past their best, it''s a recipe for problems. I''d rather see us go for bigger marque up and coming players (e.g. Jordan Rhodes) than to take the ''QPR esque'' jump to big namers passed their best (e.g. Bellamy).
 9. AC Milan released Pirlo at the end of the 2010/11 season. Unofficially it was stated that he was too old.He went to Juventus and won their player of the season. It got me thinking about age and the Grant Holt saga.. I''ve always believed that if GH went on from here he''d be less successful, but I wonder if that''s just my Yellow and Green tinted glasses? What do you think? Are there any other examples of clubs letting players go because of age who''ve gone on to have egg on their face?
 10.
Johnson instead of Richards, Henderson instead of Carrick, Downing instead of Johnson, Carroll instead of Holt, six players from an under achieving Liverpool team. Personally delighted to see Hodgson fail miserably, roll on the new prem season.........,
Glen Johnson was top class last night.
 11. I agree with every point you''ve made..However, this point:
7, English players are just not world class but solid also-rans, the same the Czech Republic, Sweden, Poland and other Europeans teams. We are never in the same league as the Germans, Italians and Spanish!
Totally undermines this:
Unlike the media, I’m not happy with being knocked out by Italy in the quarter finals! Is that the mark of a successful tournament, if that is than Hodgson is not the man for the job!
14. The image didn''t show until I went to reply... weird..Here it is just in case it''s the same for everyone else:
 15. He posted this pic:Apparently on the way back from having it all done.. so that rules out having a surgical procedure at the same time.. Botox? Filler? Not really sure about that mate. I doubt it.Although he did have some work done before the Euros.. He asked to look more like Andy Carroll
 16. I don''t think any manager comes here as a stepping stone. That isn''t the right way of looking at it.The way to look at it is that by the very nature of a manager that would come to this club and go onto bigger and better things that would and should turn our manager''s heads.PL wouldn''t have thought: "right I''ll goto Norwich for a few years, get them to the Prem and then go to a bigger club".. He may have thought once we were in the Prem "now I have a chance to go to a bigger club, I''ll listen to offers".A manager that would be content with staying at Norwich as the height of the career wouldn''t be the sort of manager I''d want. It''d mean they lack hunger and drive to be the absolute best.

 18. Without a doubt Hughton is still ''working''.. he''ll have given any transfer targets to the board to put into motion and whilst he''s been away other bits of business have been tied up such as Surmans and Martins new deals.I''d rather he took his holiday now than closer to the start of the season, and as I said before I''d rather he took a holiday and refreshed than started the season without a break.
 19.

Is it just me, or does it seem like Hughton is taking the longest holiday on record ?
Perhaps it''s me, but I would have thought that being given a brand new job as the manager of a Premier league team would come above a fortnight''s holiday in a caravan at Hemsby.
Yes it is just you. I''d rather Hughton take a month off if it meant he was refreshed and raring to go than go from working 6/7 days a week for 2 years without a holiday.
 20. I quite like the sound of this quote though:“It is difficult to make any comment with Chris Hughton out of the country and I wouldn’t want to comment either way until Chris is back,” said Payne.Makes it sound like they''re waiting for CH to return to continue talks..

 22.
And initially Iwan was replaced by the Doc, Ashton followed in the January
Yeah which lead several players to state that if Dean had been brought in in January that we''d have survived. And why are we comparing Manchester United losing Eric Cantona with us... Ridiculous analogy.

 24.
Or this one I saw posted somewhere a while back: You are my Howson, My Jonny Howson, You make me happy when skies are grey, At your best(a), You''re like Iniesta, So please don''t take my Howson away, Na na na na na na.....
That''s good too..I''d love to see us sing both of them.I always felt a little like that because Howson came into a side that was in most peoples eyes performing better than expected that he wasn''t welcomed like a new player (especially one of his quality) would be.
