  1. I have always been of the view that if you buy foreign players then it is something that comes with the player. By making it compulsory to release players managers would be less inclined to buy foreign players and our younger players would have a very good chance of getting regular first team football. at the same time i dont think scottish, welsh and northern irish games should be in the middle of our season at a pivotal time. what fifa really needs to do is say that managers HAVE to release players- the EU means that we cannot limit the number of foreign players, but this would help
  2. i see both of your points, but whats the point of having a ''class a'' if clubs like walsall are in it.the club may as well just have the same prices for every match
  3. theres a differnece between top players and a top squad.leeds have better players than us, but there is no togetherness within their squad, and as i''ve said many times before, the teams that stay up have a squad of players that stick together through thick and thin, not a bunch of prima donnas, ie leeds
  4. cityangel of course we all believe that we will go up,but most of us are weary of saying we are guranteed promotion with 16 games left. i will continue to say if until we go up,just look at wolves and the humble pie they had to eat
  5. fool on the hill i agree with you - our financial future is far more important than having an all or nothing go at staying up. we should probably follow the example of birmingham - they bought very few players at the beginning of the season, but when they saw they had a very realistic chance of staying up at christmas they went for it(in a sensible way, too) - much like we did this season with huckerby past seasons have shown that those who keep their original tema as the core do well, ie ipswich in their first season. id be much happier to go down with a secure club in all areas that can cater for its fans in terms of attendance, and then have a really good chance of going up the next season - like wba
  6. i dont see how we consistently think we should sign bromby,he was hardly amazing while he was here, and he struggles to hold down a place in an average div2 team.we should be looking to the future with shackell and prem quality players
  7. a ltille optimistic that we''ll win 13 out of 16!!But still, perfect results all round, except i''m rooted to the ground with no points in the prediction league!!
  8. what good news, but with the club saying there were more interested parties could we have got more for it???
  9. well we all seem to think it is a foregone conclusion - just look at our predictions!!!!!!
  10. a1canary, i simply mean that Doncaster is being serious about this.the reason i say it is because any comment that Doncaster says is usually greeted with such negativity it is as if some people disregard his points hwatever they may be about
  11. Wibledon 1-2 Norwich McVeigh and Roberts, one in each half, wimbledon to score after our two in last 15mins
  12. well said maddan, i doubt doomcaster is saying this for fun or to wind some of you up, its obviously a real issue that needs addressing, particularly if we to go ahead with the infills.lets just hope that we get promoted and can do it straight away
  13. if anything i get annoyed by people who ''support'' premier clubs who have a go at norwich, and class huckerby as a failed premiership player.it also irritates me that no one in the premiership is even aware of who robert green is. it was summed up about a month ago in a letter to the telegraph. a man wrote in complaining about how too many foreign players deprieved british born premiership quality players a chance to play in the top flight. the names he listed were Richard Dawson, a few others, and ''Richard Green''!!!
  14. i think it is vital that we bring in a couple of players who have proved themselves in the premiership.some sort of experience is needed, although if nottm forest were to go down reid and dawson for about 4mil would be good business, we could quite easily sell them on for about 7mil
  15. I was thinking that if/when we go up, our results are obviuosly going to get worse. but we should be optimistic because our home form is so good - 12 wins from 15 i think it is and that is pretty amazing. if west brom go up, they will go from decent div1 home form and decent div1 away form to poor prem home and away form. if we go up we will go from amazing div1 home form and poor div1 away form to decent prem home form and dreadful prem away form. as a result, we should have a much better chance of staying up as i feel we would be favourites when playing at home to decent teams like fulham, charlton, bolton etc etc
  16. This may have been brought up before, but when is the new corner infill going to built??Depending on how long it would take, i''d build it as soon as we get promoted since the demand for tickets is so high even now.imagine what it will be like when manu are coming to play.
  17. I think the important thing here is to loan out our younger players. Beckham was at preston etcetc, so half a season would do shackell/henderson/jarvis a lot of good, especially if they are playing first team football regularly. Also important is we must try and keep as many of the current squad together for many reasons. firstly it should be a reward - they have gained promotion and i feel it would be selfish to then tell them to b****r off after all their hard work. secondly, as already said, it is a team, and not individuals, who will kep us up (bar people like jay jay okocha). and thirdly, i want to watch the team that i have been supporting, that has been slowly built up to the point where it is good enough to gain promotion, not a bunch of 30something foreigners looking for a good pay day aka wolves/portsmouth. look what happened to ipswich once they started to buy people like finidi george. if it means we come back down, at least we will be in a healthy position. fortuantely Worthy doesnt like to buy foreign players, or at least players whos first language is not english (svensson is our only one), and would prefer to clear our debts, go down and come back up in a stronger position, than to blow it and end up like bradford
  18. I think you are a little opitomistic. Following your list Green - certainly Edworthy - doubt it Fleming - just about Mackay - No Shackell - eventually Drury - yes McVeigh - yes Rivers - cant in div 1 Hendo - loan him out Holt - yes Mulryne - too fat and lazy, no Francis - yes Brennan - not sure, hasnt been a regular in div 1 and im sure worthy will bring in players Huckerby - yes Leon - no Svensson - just about roberts - no Jarvis - loan him
  19. add to that tim lovejoy of soccer am, he looks just like mulryne
  20. Certainly, he has carried this club for the past few years, and without him we would be playing in the 2nd division not (hopefully) the Prem. Even if he plays only five games he deserves it. It is also a way of signing him up as a coach at the end of the year
  21. Sven came to my school today, was asked whther he would ever consider picking a Nationwide player and didn''t rule it out.Hope for Greeno????
  22. Following Rick Waghorn''s article, if (or when!!!) we go up, who do you want and do you think we would be able to poach from a team likely to be in administration in div1. obviously we cant get the likes of smith, and the rest are probably the reason that they are at the bottom of the prem.but then again someone like radebe would be great
  23. I am sure that the majority of people will disagree with me, but i think it would be nice to name the stand after someone like arthur south. i admire the way in which peterborough have POSH on their shirts, and if we get promoted its not as if we are going to suffer fomr the huge losses. Therefore it would say more about the club to have an arthur south stand as opposed to the macdonalds stand. then again in division 1 i suppose we need all the money we can get. i think it is a question of whether we want to squeeze every single penny out of every single possible source of revenue or not as for a temporary name, i''m all for the delia stand, although often i feel mr wynn jones never gets the credit he deserves - after all, he converted delia into a norwich supporter
  24. Milo do you remember akinbiyi playing, i just seem to remember him being offside almost every time. its odd what you remember - at the swindon game there was a useless ref with a moustache and a good brawl. was it adams newman and sutton who scored????
