I think its been made fairly clear we do. We don't need the money in that traditional football firesale to stop administration sense, but to have the cash to be able to buy the 4+ players we need it was made clear someone was going to go. Curious as to what people mean by lack of ambition by the club when it appears Buendia made it clear he wanted to move on to them, hence why he's accepted a move to Villa. No money or promises will have helped. He made up his mind and then it was our job to get the most money possible.

Just worth pointing out we were relegated with Buendia in our team last time. We aren't good enough to stay up with only one excellent player, if we reinvest and spend 30 million on 3/4 players that keep us up then it might just be worth it... just.

Can't see it myself though, no doubt we like the look of him but barring a player leaving for big money I just cant see us coughing up the cash, especially if we have to compete with top flight competition for him.

Can we say this is the first 'exciting' link we've had or are we all thinking this one is a non-start with the fee and a link to West Ham?
