1.
Why the current obsession with the Asics kit? It was a bit sh;t, really (and I still have one). Is it something to do with the ''twenty year trend cycle''? (Google it, kids)
It wasn''t particuarly liked at the time, lost a semi final in it as well.
2. There was a time when it became taken for granted that Norwich were a top flight club, even when they got relegated you expected them to bounce straight back (which they did three times). It would be great to get back to that sort of status again.
3. I was there, the train from Lowestoft was late and we were locked out with hundreds of others. Eventually they opened a big side gate and let us in ( for free!). We were already a goal down to a penalty but we were in time to see Colin Suggets equaliser. The winner came from a corner I think, if I remember right we had another game to play, so I don''t know how the maths of the situation worked out.
4.
From my happiest days as a supporter.Relatively young too.
Mine too
5. For Peter Crouch when he was here:- He''s tall, He''s lean, He''s a freaky goal machine Peter Crouch, Peter Crouch.....
6. Aldridge is a good call, but Townsend and him would have missed USA 94 or maybe not if they had played for England!
7. I see CMS has been called up for Scotland because he has a Scottish grandparent. I am not suggesting he will ever be good enough to play for England but what others have grabbed a flag of convenience and maybe regretted it later? I always thought AndyTownesend would have been capped by England if he hadn''t opted early for Ireland and Mark Lawrenson would surely have won plenty of England caps if he hadn''t done the same. Can anyone think of any more recent examples?
8. He didn''t turn up! Posh had to fine him before he showed up. If I remember right his dad tried to scupper the deal after he had signed.
9. He is hot property not only because of his scoring record but because these clubs have had him watched several times and know how he gives teams problems for 90 minutes. Pace is pace whether its in league1 or the Prem and he wont lose his ability to read the game either. As for his record in the championship he was playing with Mcclean who is a very similar player, they were making the same runs watering down their effectiveness. Also Posh threw the towel in midseason and loaned out Boyd who creates a lot of chances. If he just scores a couple of goals that help us get promoted it will money well spent. The point is the club and fans (Posh) see what he does week in week out for 90 mins out and that is why they think he is worth more than £3m.
10. Radio cambs just announced Norwich bid rejected
11. I have seen him play a lot, very quick never gives the opposition any peace his game has benefited since Mcclean went to Hull. He used fluff a few one on ones but seems to have eliminated that fault from his game now. I have heard the transfer will go through ''this week''.
12. This thread makes you realise that we''ve had some great players. No mentions even for our first million pound players Fashanu and Reeves who were a handfull for anyone.
13. Keelan Culverhouse Sullivan Newsome Watson M.O''Neil Townsend Peters Huckerby McDougall Sutton Subs. Alcock Paddon Barham Woods Phelan
14.
Lambert incorrectly credited with buying Holt. Bless poor Gunny.....
Also according to the commentator Steele was in goal for us and we are Hull!
15. I had been watching Norwich about three years when we signed him, and remember being a bit suprised. The best I can describe it to younger supporters is like we had signed Vinnie Jones or Robbie Savage in more recent times. He took no prisoners but I remember him as being very quick into the tackle making him a good ball winner. I think its fair to say we probably would have been relegated if we had not signed him.
16. He watched a lot of Peterborough games when junior was there so I would not read to much into it.
17. It was tried in the seventies when seven Liverpool players started an international. They won but it wasnt'' repeated.
18. Aside from the semis, I remember an 80s 5th round  defeat at Derby being hard to take (I think they were a division below us at the time). The 6th round defeat at Brighton was worse, I felt cheated by the ref and Jimmy Case.  The 1975 home loss to 4th division Bradford robbed us of an easy run to the final.     The best? we beat Man U in a night game in the late eighties with  Dale Gordon scoring, Thats a good memory.
19. Please lets not have any of those ''On loan to league one'' type T shirts like when we first got relegated from the Premiership. We all know how long that ''loan'' lasted.
20. The figure for Peterborough is also for its city area, even the large suburb of Stanground which is walking distance from the ground comes under Huntingdon d.c. There are also nearby large towns like Stamford, Spalding and Bourne that regard Posh as their local ''big team''.
21. There are a few misconceptions about Peterborough on here. They probablly have more money than city to spend on players, a lower league side spending 400k on a goalie is almost unheard of. As for fan base the population was 158,000 at the last census compared to 123,000 Norwich and 117,000 Ipswich. This is more like 170,000 since the building of a new township and continuing expansion. Their job is to convince people who have moved to the city since the early seventies to support the local club. They even tried to recruit eastern european migrants by putting up posters in Polish. I doubt even Norwich would have 18,000 season ticket holders or sell out crowds if they had spent the last sixteen years in the lower two divisions. So the potential is there they just need a way to tap into it and getting into the championship is surely a big step in that direction.
22.

When I ran a Sunday football team you could apply for two final tickets in November, if you were drawn out of the ballot which was usually 70% of the time you got tickets. I got to see most of the finals in the 90''s this way. A large amount of tickets are allocated this way and have been for decades.
Do you think that''s right, Eam? I am genuinely interested. I would have thought that there are lots of ways to reward those people who work behind the scenes and in the grass roots - tickets to England games, Premier League games etc, rather than depriving fans of the two clubs the chance to go to the Final. If City reached the final (don''t laugh, Millwall did a few years ago), 25,000 tickets wouldn''t be nearly enough. And I know that most of the tickets have already been promised to the people who bankrolled the stadium, but that''s ridiculous too - the game is awash with money, and there should have been no need to finance the stadium in that way. What it has meant is that FA Cup semi-finals and all England games have to be played there, which is absurd. The FA are absolutely useless in every respect.
I agree completely it is wrong but I doubt they will ever change the way they distribute the tickets. Every club gets an allocation, the likes of Norwich probally get a few dozen. The league cup ticket allocation is limited to league clubs so there has traditionally  been more commited supporters at these finals. I was lucky enough to get a ticket for the 73 final off Peterborough Utd. after missing out from Norwich.
