1. (Derrr!  Wish I could write proper English - here''s a version that''s slightly more coherent!) In fairness, most Americans I''ve had the pleasure of talking to have shown a genuine interest in our version of the game.  It''s cricket that really floors them but that''s hardly surprising!  There are plenty of Americans who play "soccer" and are passionate about it but it is likely to continue to be a small player against "gridiron", basketball, hockey and baseball.  I''d certainly encourage any American to take an interest in what goes on over here, especially if any of them have any spare cash that they''d like to invest!

 3.

Houston, can I just say, as an impartial observer in all of this, you are coming across as a sanctimonious and childish prat?
Really?  Sanctimonious AND childish?  That''s an odd mixture. What is your impartial summary of Hugoagogo and Dronny and nigel and ron obvious and whomever else has been piling on me?  Are they manly and brave and cultured and righteous?  Does it even matter? If all you can do is attack me, then I have obviously made some valid points. Shooting the messenger does not change the message. Guess what, Dicky.  You claiming to be impartial comes across as sanctimonious.  I bet you felt really superior when you sent your comment.  Do you still feel that way now I have exposed the irony of it?   Geez, Dronny, once again, harping on about my colloquialisms as if that somehow weakens the valid points I have been making.  I did not deny that I use terms that seem normal to me and that everybody else understands but which you nitpick at as if they are from some other planet.  And yes, the baseball championships here are called the World Series. I have explained why other times to the same drips who think that somehow proves the US thinks too much of itself. Dronny, you even added a nice comment to a thread titled "goalies", a term intolerant jackwads like you have attacked me for on other occasions. Why did you not attack the originator of that thread?  Because in reality you are not at all bothered by the word. So you are putting on a show here, and getting your a$$ handed to you over and over. Show me where the CONTENT OF MY COMMENTS is proveably factually wrong!  You can''t.  ha ha ha[:P] (is there a smiley face with a middle finger on it? If so, add one here for Dronny) (or the 2 fingered salute so it is the British version even though he knows what my one means)
Oh dear!  You really are having a bad day Houston.  Got the feeling that others on here are as sick of you as me?  Your "colloquialisms" are relevant as they were all about football and suggest that perhaps you''re not quite with it where that is concerned.  As I said, your ego can''t even take a bit of light-heated banter, which was all my post was about.  I have never mentioned the World Series or attacked you for using the term "goalie" so there''s a couple of COMMENTS THAT ARE FACTUALLY WRONG!!  By the way, what do you think of our new netminder?  I know plenty of fantastic Americans who have a real sense of the strengths and weaknesses of their country and can give and take a bit of ribbing.  Unfortunately you don''t seem to be in their number.  If you want a few more things that you have said that are FACTUALLY PROVABLY WRONG over then try these for a start: My wife and kids will testify to the fact that I''m not "gay".  They will (as will all the local churchmen around here) confirm that I''m not religious.  My birth certificate will confirm that I''m not English.  My posts will confirm that I never made any "gash" or "anti-gash" comments.  They will also prove that I never mentioned the World Series or attacked someone for using the term "goalie".  Doherty never has been and never will be my "saviour" or "god" and I''ve never made any comment to that end.  So Einstein, stop side-stepping & ducking and diving someone of limited intellectual capacity like me and deal with those factually incorrect comments for a start.  I await your pearls of wisdom O great one!
 4.
Should stick to Grid Iron.
I can''t think who you''re thinking about Hugo![;)]
 5. Be careful Hugo, Houston may use some of that superior wit and intellect to put you down while calling you a religious gay or even taking the mickey out of being English.  Stand by to be well and truly put in your place!
 6. "Asked about his future at that rubbish club in that rubbish town, he went all psycho and stared out the reporter. What an idiot! He''ll be gone soon. Good riddance I say" The interviewer was braver than me for asking the question and probably a little more stupid as well.  It''s nice that they''re followed our previous example and appointed a nutter as manager (although Roeder wasn''t quite as scary as Keano).  Let''s hope we swap places with them at the end of the season!
 7.
John Deehan the Norwich chief Scout, has been happy to recommend a few players to Chris Sutton, though the most likely will be the mercurial Jamie Cureton, a man very much in the Jamie Forrester mould. Standing just 5 foot eight he has scored regularly at each of the seven clubs he has been at, most notably Reading and Bristol Rovers. He has also always been prolific whenever he has gone on loan but looks as if he will start and finish his career at Norwich. Anyone doubting his stardom status take note, uniquely whilst at Reading, Jamie had a newly discovered star in the ''Perseus'' constellation named after him. The whispers are that the 34 year old will be here on loan very shortly despite him scoring the fifth goal as the Canaries hammered his old club 5-1 yesterday. Cureton is struggling to get past Cody McDonald, Grant Holt, Goran Marić and Chris Martin this season and joined Barnsley on a 3-month loan deal last term. As we all know Jamie is a name that will always pull the heart chords of Imps and should the loan deal come off it would be a great marriage of convenience for both clubs.
Seems to be ahead of Cody and Maric in the eyes of Lambert at the moment and actually scoring goals.  Yesterday''s was a class finish like the sort of goal he scored a few of seasons ago.  Can''t see him going anywhere at the moment myself.
 8.
In the games I''ve seen so far this season Nelson made Doherty look like Beckenbauer.
Hoof to agree with that (sorry - couldn''t resist).
 9. I''ve never been a Wes fan but the reality is he''s one of many players who''ve not fulfilled their potential in previous seasons.  It just seems that Lambert is a bit clearer about what he expects from all players and the message is pretty clear that if you don''t do it his way then you don''t play.  This might have helped Wes get a bit more focused within a team structure that obviously suits him better.  Part of me feels that I don''t care how we play in this league as long as we get out of it as soon as possible.  However, that bit of extra skill that someone like Wes can provide when on song, alongside a team that is gaining in confidence, will really put the frighteners on a lot of teams in this league.  I for one hope that Wes (and Doc for that matter) carry on proving people like me wrong.
 10.
The best thing to come out of getting humped by col u (maybe the second best actually) is that I never think any match we have is a foregone conclusion. Carlisle will be tough no doubt.
Wise words Simon.  After that first game I would have just been pleased not to have been relegated again!  Every game I ask myself is this the game when the bubble will burst.  I would love to go up this year but I''m not greedy.  A team playing in yellow and green showing that they are bothered about playing for us with a manager that I''ve got a bit of respect for is such a step forward for me.  Carlisle will not be a walk-over but at least I can go all the way up there with a bit of optimism.
 11.
It could have been so different. We squandered chances (again) and so did Rovers. If they had taken one or two of their first half chances, we could have been on level terms at half time. Then what..... I think that we always had enough to win, but given the difficulty we had against Walsall and Orient for 75 minutes, it could have been close if  Rovers had accepted the chances. It was a great win - 10 goals in eight days, and seven point out of nine, but we have to become even meaner in defence!
I know what you''re saying but think you''re being a little harsh.  In football you sometimes don''t get what you deserve and Bristol getting something wouldn''t have been deserved.  Our defence still has a bit of work to do but would you really have wanted to swap with their''s?!  Their manager pretty much said after the game that they were well beaten by a quality team.  At long last we seem to be making progress under a manager and coaches who have a bit of nouse with a team that is starting to play together as a team.  After the past couple of years things seem to be moving in the right direction.
 12.
But hey, they''re a big club with great fans [:|]
Leeds - home to neanderthal man - don''t you just love em!
 13.

Just a thought Houston.  Perhaps your favourite Norwick player might be a natural at American Football.  His all action clutch and grab style would sure go down well with all those quarter backs.  How about playing him in the "back field" and seeing how many "shutouts" you might get, especially on all those "road games" you''ve been talking about!  Hut Hut Hut!
Religion is the last refuge of a scoundrel, Dronny. You''re not even good at that!  Instead, you resort to cheap attacks on nationality which only continue the process of making you look stupid.  Now you''re doing my job for me. Thanks.  Obviously Amerrycan football, as you call it (it''s just plain old "football" without a capital letter)   Once again, you cannot debate the content of my statements because you know I am right.  So you go for the cheap laugh (and get none) on a forum that features a thread dedicated to football. Oi, oi, oi, bloke mate in a lorry by the flat.  Hey, I can make retarded fun of English colloquialisms too!  I am hilarious! If nothing else, you got off the boring and changed things up a little making this fun again.  I so love being the topic of conversation among people who have never met me, and most likely never will.  Since you have nothing better to do, Dronny, why don''t you look through my comment history and see how often I resort to insults and/or name calling first.  How is your socialized medicine working out for you at the EU? More inane shots that mean nothing to me but will likely get you all stirred up, kind of like you thought "hut, hut, hut" would me. HAH!
Do us a favour mate.  Do as I suggested, read back through this thread.  The references to "back field", "shutouts" and "road games" all came from among YOUR "wise words.  Just an indication of how confused you are! All the insults from my previous post are also from YOU on this thread.    Yet again you have shown that you are quick to dish it out but oh so sensitive at being on the receiving end.  You''ve called me "gay" and a "jackwad", now you accuse an atheist of being "religious" and to cap it all you try to make feeble jokes about the English.............and I''m not even English!!!!  Have a nice day!

 15. I''ve got great memories of watching him when I was a kid.  He''d certainly be my No.1 in an all time Canaries team.  As mentioned above, these were the days when the English leagues were awash with quality keepers.  It was also the time when we didn''t have Bosman rulings and agents stirring up players to get itchy feet.  I''m probably wrong but I can''t remember him being seriously linked with a move away which was good because the way we used to play in those days we usually needed a good goalie behind the defence!  He made some magnificant saves and could also be a fiery character if the opposition forwards got in his way.  He was also someone who liked to be noticed - there were always plenty of those "for the cameras" saves when he was around!
 16.
This is not a slate at the man for starters. He is not consistent enough to be our CB when other players come back. I can say he did have a good game on tuesday night but today his old habits were starting to creep back in. Unescessary holding of players, wrapping arms around them etc.. He gives away too many free kicks for my liking. Looking at some peoples ratings of the game today for him on another post there are people saying that this was his best game for us in a long time. Doc back to his best. Can they be serious? He was much better on tuesday night than today! Thoughts on his inability to not grab an attacker?
The Canary Cupboard looks pretty bare to me! Which quality CBs are we waiting to return from injury?  Nelson perhaps?[:D]
 17.
I never said that Gunn was a great manager. However, he brought in players like Holt and Hughes etc etc etc etc and by contrast Lambert froze out (unbelievably) players like Hoolahan , Russell and, yes, Doherty. IMO that;s poor management. Time and time again i read idiots on here saying that Hoolahan was not that good, lifers like Beausant, Lord somebody or other etc etc. How stupid. Gunn should never have been sacked on the evidence of one game but it''s time to mone on and now that Lambert has now seen the error of his ways and brought Hoolahan, Russell and Dohert back into the fold and I will support him - even though Gunn was treated harshly. Remember : Gunn bought Holt, Hughes, brought back Cureton, gave youth platers their chance - Martin, Spillane, Smith, Adeyemi - so don''t be too quick to deride Gunn and heap praise on Lambert.
Like you say, Bob, it''s time to move on.  There''s a lot gone on behind the scenes that we''ll probably never hear about.  Let''s just hope that a new more positive chapter in the history of the club is just starting.
 18.
I agree GP [:)] Hes very consistent and has been for years, when hes been fit anyway. I would also like to praise him for the fact that he seems one of the most honest player I know. When a free kick goes against him he doesnt (or not much anyway) argue with it, just gets on with it. It really annoys me when a player just stand there and argues with the ref, Its soooo much better to just get back, into position.   But anyway, good post there [Y]
I agree as well.  What you''re describing is professionalism.  There''s no point arguing with the ref as it''s just a distraction.  Players who get on with the game and keep their focus are usually the better and more effective players.
 19.
that Paul Lambert has turned the club around?. There is still a long way to go yet, but he has stopped the decline and stabilized the team. What I really like about him is that he wears a tracksuit on the touch line not a suite and shoes like he is some businessman closing a deal.
I''d love to believe that this is the case but in supporting this club over the past few years there have been so many false dawns.  I''d love this to be the start of the long march upwards but I''ll take it one game at a time.
 20. Some highlights from the erudite analysis of Houston. “You are an idiot” “You people are so pathetic” “Cameltoe, your previous missive……..” "No only are you intolerant, you are a jackwad." "You use of the term something to the effect of "talking a lot of gash" made you sound very homosexual, So if are just gay………" "I assumed if he hates it so much he is likely a homo." "It is you who is living in the council flats with grubs, leeches, sluggos, addicts, slouches and losers"
 21.
I''ve read it. It is sub par repetitive tripe. That bores me.  You admit to having no content, just attacks. Yawn.  Why don''t you show me and anyone else reading this where I am proveably factually wrong.  Stop!  I already know why you don''t. You can''t.  When I have trouble sleeping, then I may re-read you comments bore me to sleep.  Dronny, are you always this bitter after a big win?
Put me right then O great superior one.  If you''re so smart then why do you have to stoop to insults?  Your main defence is always to accuse others of your own faults.  There must be a name for this sort of psychological condition.  It would be nice for me and the other posters on here to see you say something along the lines - "Perhaps I''ve overdone the insults, perhaps I''ve been a bit quick to judge other people , perhaps I''ve not taken enough time to listen to other points of view and I''ll address this in the future." Like I said, read through the thread and you will see that there are plenty of people have have pretty much the same opinion of what you say as I do.
 22.
As usual, you have no means of challenging the content of my statements.  I am now bored with you.
Oooooooooo!  That''s a bit superior!  Run out of insults have we?  Try reading what I''ve said and responding if you''ve got the bottle.  Luckily I don''t do boredom.
 23. I have this strange feeling that we will get to the play-offs and end up playing Colchester.  Would be an interesting one in all sorts of ways.
 24.
All the Wesley doubters... ssssshhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh.
All the Lambert doubters.... ssssshhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh.!
 25. Wasn''t Lambert supposed to be awful at man management?  Seems to be getting it right so far and puts people in who deserve to be there on performances not reputation.  Things are moving in the right direction but there''s still a long way to go.  Off to Carlisle and another 3 pts?
