  1. I think 400k and another 150k if promoted sounds reasonable for Holt. Remember that this would be on top of the contract offer already made to Maric, so there must be some money still available and the Clingan & Russell money yet to come.
  2. Given that Maric is still considering his contract offer and Holt is in discussions, the chances seem reasonable and Lee is still a fall-back if one of these goes wrong.
  3. After confirming that Whaley and Wiggins had signed, Pete found out that Maric is still considering his options: http://twitter.com/pinkun Holt would be expected to take a bit longer as well - can''t have all our treats at once!
  4. It could be there is an option for another year in each case, but I would guess that it''s the promotion issue really.
  5. Yes really! Have a look yourself: http://twitter.com/pinkun
  6. Twitter has confirmed it''s Whaley and Wiggins - both on 2 year contracts!
  7. If you think you''re worried TimNCFC, read this: http://www.colchester.vitalfootball.co.uk/article.asp? [;)]
  8. This might be dangerous when sense of humour is an issue, but I enjoyed this: http://www.colchester.vitalfootball.co.uk/article.asp? Isn''t football wonderful at times! OTBC!
  9. Only one Pete? Surely with all of your influence you can do better than that? [;)]
  10. Adomah would be a great signing if the money is there. With his height and pace, ability to play either wing, cross accurately with either foot, he would terrify League 1 defences and could also be a good investment for the future. His present boss also thinks that he could develop into a striker with more experience! http://www.barnetfc.com/page/ProfilesDetail/0,,10431~42849,00.html Could prove to be a great signing!
  11. Sean Dawkin got the equaliser, but great report on Powell, Sal. Any news on how Mtandari and Chrysantho did?
  12. I would rather see an attacking 4-3-3 with OTJ sitting deep as a holding player, Hughes and Gill in CM, Hoolahan on the left, Whaley on the right, and Maric in the middle.
  13. then again you could say that this isn''t even a reserve team for city, rather a mix of youngsters and young triallists (except WLY), so playing time  is more important than the result.
  14. Interesting that Grant Holt is not appearing in the Shrewsbury side to face WBA in a high profile match? A possibility at least!
  15. Yes, I agree, and won''t rest easy until City have at least one big striker signed. Roeder blew it last summer - please get it right this summer Gunny!
  16. According to the Pink''un Twitter site Maric has been offered a deal. Wait and see.
  17. I have to say that I''m not convinced either!
  18. That sort of rubbish is best ignored Ace! If it is 6 or 7 players that could include 2 or 3 of the ex-spur youths on trial who are all in the squad against Dereham tonight. http://www.canaries.co.uk/page/NewsDetails/0,,10355~1727659,00.html  It''s good to see Crook given the job of developing the young players through the reserves. Another thing Gunn has got right, IMO.
  19. I''d like to see Maric signed as one of the big strikers needed, but suspect that the second (Lee or another proven player) will have to wait until Clingan and Russell have gone.
  20. Interesting to read through the whole history of this. The only thing I would add is that McNally told the Pink''un that Whaley was still expected to sign. Perhaps now a new striker will follow that!
  21. One encouraging thing about the scotland tour was seeing Wes flourish as a playmaker behind the strikers. This works much better with a 4-3-3 than a 4-4-2, IMO.
  22. Another CM would be useful, but I''d rather see a big striker in first! Regarding that, does anyone know whether the Spurs youngsters are still around on trial? I thought they showed promise and filled some gaps in the City youngsters coming up from the Youth Team. Particularly Powell and Mtandari seemed a good bet. Any news?
