  1. What the hell is John Deehan talking about. Aston Villa are closer to the Championship than qualifying for a European spot. We are better placed to challenge for Europe than Villa at the moment and I can''t see that changing any time soon (even with Lambert there). Me thinks, some old timers setting in.
  2. Although Mustard, we didn''t have McNally when we tried the McNorwich previously.       OTBC
  3. Yes, I know. Just trying to continue with the positive spin considering the week we have all had.
  4. Wouldn''t be unhappy with Neil Lennon. Maybe Lennon could bring Forster as competition for Ruddy. He could bring Charlie Mulgrew to add to our defensive stocks and bolster our midfield with Joe Ledley, Scotty Brown & Paddy McCourt. If Holt left Lennon could call upon Gary Hooper and Anthony Stokes. Dreaming......
  5. CCF, yes, I would take himn of your hands if I had a choice. We forget that PL had no premiership experience until he guided us to the EPL. I trhink Malky has shown the necessary man management skills in his time with Watford and Cardiff and is used to working in clubs with minimal funds and has done well. Plus, throw in the romantic notion of him returning here and the fact that he might actually have some loyalty to the club, would be a good choice in my opinion.
  6. Morto, surely though one way to limit payout in the scenario you mentioned would be to offer two year contract extensions which could be topped up annually if everything going well, like it was here. I just want City to be compensated fairly instead of always getting the worst end of the arrangement. Anyway, no use crying of spilled Guinness now, the search for a new manager begins.
  7. Sorry Branston good a bit emotional there. If I was in the upper echelon of CR though, I would be saying from now on that rolling contracts will no longer be entered into even from just the point of compensation. Managers will always leave but NCFC need to be compensated fairly.
  8. If this compensation figure is right that''s bullsh!t. A number of months ago I had the audacity to question whether the rolling contract was as beneficial to NCFC rather than locking PL into a proper fixed term contract. I was shot down by many with tones of this gives us more security than a typical contract etc etc etc. Can I suggest that no one knows what the hell there talking about and anyway, after what has transpired here, why have contracts anyway they clearly have no value or standing in football today.
  9. Even though I don''t want to contemplate Lambert leaving, Martinez or DiMatteo would be good. If either manager came to us they would want funds to spend???????
  10. I agree Canary, complete faith in McNally to get another good one. OTBC
  11. You can''t blame McNally for this, if it indeed happens. In a bizarre way, we are victims of his/PL/teams success over the past 3 years and this day was inevetable, I guess, we were all just hoping we had another season maybe 2 with PL. If PL does leave then I have complete faith that McNally will find the right replacement. Sentimentally Malky would be great but certainly not Stevey Bruce.
  12. I agree Willo. Too early to contemplate. Might become more clearer in 3 to 4 hours but I will ceertainly cross that bridge when I have too. Stay PL, please.......
  13. Not quite sure I believe this "bust up" stuff just yet. Don''t McNally and Lambert have a strong personal relationship also from their Celtic days. Let''s wait and see how it pans out over the next 24 hours.
  14. Guys, caughtoffside.com is running the headline Rodgers to Liverpool, Paul Lambert to Villa, Martinez going know where. I hope there is no truth to it.
  15. I don''t think anybody Curnstar is saying that we want to punt Delia. Just that it''s amazing that crappy clubs like QPR and Championship clubs are getting investment opporttunities and we don''t seem to be. Whether you like it or not to be a mainstay in the EPL we will need some investment at some stage and it doesn''t mean that they are going to run the club into the ground. We just have to do our due diligence and make sure they are investing in NCFC for the right reasons and have the same vision as our current owners and board.
  16. Why would Rodgers want that job. Sure bigger club and more transfer $$$ but not a better job. Just like PL here, he is loved by the Swansea fans. With respect to Martinez, if he does turn the Liverpool job down I think that it was an awesome piece of negotiation/strategy by Dave Whelan. He obviously knew his managers work parameters and felt comfortable enough to back his arrangement at Wigan.
  17. would be good but I am not going to hold my breath. He might be a household name is Norway or Nigeria or Saipan but this is the EPL.
  18. I think the baord obviously read this thread as papers are linking us to Snodgrass again. Happy days
  19. Unbelievable to me that there are investors out there but NCFC can''t attrract any interest. Just like Fernandes investment in QPR, why would you put your money into them. Them have a postage stamp sized stadium, just one of what 20??? teams in that greater London area. He could have come here, one team town, better supporters, bigger stadium, brilliant manager and staff. Now it''s looks like people are looking at Leeds, why??
  20. I think Hooper would be better than Wilba
  21. Excuse my ignorance but who is Fegor Ogude?????
  22. With Newspaper reports linking us with Snodgrass again I think he would be a great addition to our squad. As I stated yesterday in my previous thread, it always gives the fans a lift knowing that we are actively seeking to improve the squad. I would like to think the KDNCFC is right that if they state 10m budget than possibly it''s a bit more than that. With Rodregiuz going to Southampton, I think it clear that the 3 promoted teams plus ourselves and Swansea will all be battling in that same size transfer and wage area. Would love to see Naughton get a permanent deal, Snodgrass in, not sure about Gunter, Lansbury would be an interesting option. I don''t think we need much more upfront but maybe a 1m rated Yakubu would be good value and a Lulaku from Chelsea on loan would be interesting. Would certainly fill the gap left by Wilba.
  23. Does anybody know when the transfer window opens? Is it 1st June.
