Bassong Becchio & RVW wages.
barclay_boy111 replied to Indy's topic in Main Discussion - Norwich City
I wouldn''t say that money or the wages are causing an issue especially as every player has taken a pay cut and would surly fall into line with championship clubs pay structure. I just think we are being overly cautious to be honest they don''t like they spent all that money last season and got nothing in return -
The "Hoolahan dilemma" returns....
barclay_boy111 replied to GJL Mid-Norfolk Canary's topic in Main Discussion - Norwich City
I think the occasional form is all he has in his poker to be honest, I don''t think we should be creating a team around one player especially wes. With his "licence to wonder" he creates far to much space for teams to counter and he looses the ball far to often. I realise I may be in minority but just don''t think he''s the player that we need to be building a team around. -
How do you think City will fare this season?
barclay_boy111 replied to Pete Raven's topic in Main Discussion - Norwich City
Around Tenth, Youth manager and too many has beens.
This, giving wes another contracts and extending Ryan Bennett is not going to get us any where, we need better defenders than bennet and the fact we havnt bought one is extreamly worrying. The fact that Olsson, Fer and Redmond could well be on their way out with no recruitments in sight again worrying. We will finish around 11th this season -

Agree with mark I think we are desperate to strengthen our defence we need 2 CB''s and cover in right back or as mark says a pacey RB like Ollson -
Ricardo's report v Celta Vigo
barclay_boy111 replied to ricardo's topic in Main Discussion - Norwich City
I don''t know about others, but I am not over-the-moon about having both Surman and Hoolahan together if the middle of midfield. A bit too lightweight, IMO, and perhaps this was partly the reason that CV became dominant as the game progressed. It is stated above that the ''supply to the strikers'' dried up. It seems to be evolving that Andrew Surman is an Adam''s favourite and I''m not too sure about this either. Decent player but his limitations of pace and strength will not have gone away. I actually would have preferred him to have remained at Bournemouth and consider bringing him back a regressive move.. Perhaps even the near £1m they seemed prepared to pay for him could have been dangled somewhere under Fer''s nose to prevent his agent agitating a move. WishfuI thinking though. It doesn''t work that way. Fer easily replaces either WH or AS for me, but that''s a story waiting to unfold.
I agree compleatly, not only with the light weight theme but last night hoolahan caused a lot of space in the midfield as he was aloud to pretty much go where ever he wanted leaving us exposed to the counter. Celta Vigo walked through the midfield on several occasions last night very similar to last season leaving our defence compleatly exposed, Ollson was left to deal with 2 players by him self constantly down the left with no one coming back to help him out. -
What about the defence?!
barclay_boy111 replied to Patches OHoolahan's topic in Main Discussion - Norwich City
Are these the same defenders that conceded 62 goals last season? Last night only confirmed that our defence is still poor and the the fact we''ve only spent time trying to hang on to our player rather than buy some reinforcements at the back is rather worrying -
What''s the difference? If your trusting Adams your trusting his ability as a manger are you not?
Only a madman and pitchforks and haystacks and of course the love birds Morty and LDC would not be concerned about how this season is coming together. Not even under Gunny was it this bad. McNally has lost the plot big style
How many times is McNally going to get the blame for the boards failings?

Unfortunatly it''s a no and nothing to do with last season because let''s be honest not even the special one wouldn''t have saved us. We needed some one with some transfermarket knowledge not just trusting others judgments I.e never having seen lafferty play untill the Dereham game was a bit of a shock, how is he going to develop a style of play with players he doesn''t know play? We needed some one who would give the current players a kick up the backside and I like Hughton I can''t see Adams having this in him. It''s not just Adams I don''t trust in all fairness, the club has created this whole "board of football" which is only going to end badly no manager out their honestly likes having minimum input in their team and is probably another reason we didn''t get some one else in. Also transfer related; we all know that scoring goals was a big issue for us but just buying strikers isn''t going to improve it and with what looks to be little to no effort in strengthening a ridiculously leaky defence first and formost is another bewildering decision in my mind. Looking at it with my head and not my heart as the board should have done but clearly didn''t I can only see it ending badly, and if I am proved wrong I will gladly take the stick for not trusting our club but untill then I''m not confident in the slightest.

Darren Huckerby

He also had a second cover for the book for Coventry fans, he has 2 clubs in his heart so I guess Coventry fans see him in the same light as we do. I would probably say since he stuck around here and still works for our club the footballing world sees him as Norwich supporter. As for RVP I still see him in an arsenal shirt -

LDC please enlighten me on the reason Hughton was kept on for as log as he was? Because the only reason the board stated was that their was no other manager avalible in January and yet we went an employed some one in house when it was too late, it''s amazing that desitions like this are just batted away with out any real disappointment or anger. Of course changing the manager at any point doesn''t guarantee any more success with the team but let''s be honest if Adams was in charge from January he couldn''t have possibly done any worse. Not brining any the right enforcements during the January transfermarket is another decision that frankly blew my mind and for me these are the things the board will in time have to really answer and not just by saying look where we had come from, look at the success we had because why should the success have to stop? -

I think that''s another part of the battle pete, we have had this mass restructure in the management team that probably caused possible managers to either walk away or be a big cause for concern. And if we fail this season who is to blame? Adams or the board for putting in place this management structure? I think the board will finally have to answer some seriouse questions. 10 games is on the low side to judge a manager on. however if we had bitten the bullet with Hughton earlyer instead of this nonsense about not giving him enough time untill he had ultimately relegated us we wouldn''t be here now. -
Strikers, Strikers and more strikers
barclay_boy111 replied to barclay_boy111's topic in Main Discussion - Norwich City
Fingers crossed that is the case and we will be concentrating on other areas sooner rather than later my only issue with being that pre season starts soon so you would want them to be integrated as soon as possible -
Strikers, Strikers and more strikers
barclay_boy111 posted a topic in Main Discussion - Norwich City
It was pretty obvious to every one that lack of goals was a large portion of what got us relegated but is the problem really going to get solved by just throwing more attackers in the squad? With yet another striker on the rumor mill list i can''t help but feel that the money could be going towards strengthening other key areas as one could argue if we hadn''t had such a leaky defence last season we may have stood a chance at staying up or if we had provided better survive for our miss firing strickers we may well have scored more goals. You need goals coming from all areas of the pitch not just your strikers and I feel by just throwing money at one position to try and score per goals is a little short sighted and could well end up in trouble once again. -
I agree 100% we need 2 new CB''s currently our weakest position on the pitch
-
Why? Because when snoddy goes we are a winger down. It''s hardly wasting time trying to bring in a talented player, how any player have we "wasted" time on and either didn''t bring in or we actually managed to capture their signature it''s all relative.

Watching Ecuador v France and Ecuador have just made a sub with Alex Ibarra coming on. Played for vitesse Arnhem last season but is now avalible on a free, right winger got quite a bit of pace aparently Swansea are in for him I sincerely hope we are at least interested as I''m a bit worried about the fact that all we apear to be bringing in strikers.
