I think Dan Burn, the young Fulham centre back would be a good addition for next season. Tall, assured and good on the ball, maybe one for the future?

Whittaker
Jimmy Bone - Superstar replied to Jimmy Bone - Superstar's topic in Main Discussion - Norwich City
The original point that I was making is that I feel Whittaker has been an unfair scapegoat this season when in actual fact he has had a pretty decent season, whether he will be good enough for the Prem, if we get there, is a matter of opinion and yes, we may need to strengthen in that department. I think technically he is a very good footballer though, perhaps lacking a bit of pace. -

If he can do us a favour in both Mrs Miggins then I think we will all forgive him for ever. I''m afraid to say though I think it is just wishful thinking, but at least gives us something to cling on to for the last 2 games. -
In my opinion, Steven Whittaker has been given a lot of unfair criticism this season. Apart from the failed midfield experiment against Brentford, I think he has had a good steady season, I would perhaps even have him in the top 3 for POS. Watching Russell Martin''s shaky performance last night and a few others I can think of this season, he doesn''t get anywhere near the amount of flack that Whittaker gets and I believe that SW is the much better option at right back. Having said that, if we do manage to get up, we will need to look at right back as an area to strengthen.

After last night I would like to see us go for Adomah from Boro, particularly if Redmond moves on. Also, I always rated Ayala when he was here and I thought he was immense last night, so I would try to get him back in the centre of out defence. All of this of course, would depend on Boro not going up! -

Russell Martin - Rubbish!
Jimmy Bone - Superstar replied to ViewfromtheJarrold's topic in Main Discussion - Norwich City
Agreed GJP - but in my opinion the only realistic option as captain is Ruddy. We really need to sort this out pdq. -
Russell Martin - Rubbish!
Jimmy Bone - Superstar replied to ViewfromtheJarrold's topic in Main Discussion - Norwich City
Agreed - well done to him for his 200 appearances and his wonder goal yesterday but I can''t understand how he gets in the side let alone as captain. Despite Whittaker''s limitations, I would always select him ahead of Martin at right back. I thing if Russell has a place in the team then it should be at centre back. Having said that, we have more than enough of those to not need to select him there either. -

Steve Bruce
Jimmy Bone - Superstar replied to Jimmy Bone - Superstar's topic in Main Discussion - Norwich City
I would say Bruce is the safe bet Nutty. Can''t see many negatives if we were to get him - just the question of if it is possible to get him - would he drop down from the Prem even if the package was right? -
Steve Bruce
Jimmy Bone - Superstar replied to Jimmy Bone - Superstar's topic in Main Discussion - Norwich City
Maybe Herman - maybe not. The talk of him going to Fulham and the unrest with the owner at Hull though - maybe it''s possible. He may also be looking for a new challenge, there''s certainly one of those here! -
We need to pull out all the stops and see if we can get Brucie in from Hull. Apparently he was in the running for the Fulham job so with the right package on offer would hopefully consider coming here. He has done it before and what an amazing job he''s done at Hull. We shouldn''t be looking around to see who''s available but going out to get the right manager in - regardless of if he''s already in work.

The missing striker

How about Vokes from Burnley. Big, strong and scores at this level. Wouldn''t have thought he would figure much for them in the Prem? -

Technical Director
Jimmy Bone - Superstar replied to Jimmy Bone - Superstar's topic in Main Discussion - Norwich City
Strange you should mention Craig Fleming. I passed him driving through the city on my way home tonight and when I heard of the Adams appointment the same though went through my mind! Maybe we''ll bring big Joe Royle in as well and re-unite the old Oldham gang!!! -
Like the vast majority of people on here tonight I''m astounded by the appointment of Neil Adams as our manager. Surely this could have made more sense and perhaps softened the blow a bit if they had announced the new TD at the same time and maybe we would have understood the plan (if there is one). As it stands, I just don''t understand this at all. This Technical Director role now seems to take on a whole lot more importance - thinking about it, after tonights events, it will probably be Ricky Martin!!!

How about Sam Vokes from Burnley - don''t expect that they will play him in the Prem? -
I was just looking back in interest at my one attempt at the Premier League predictor table from back in February (see below). It looks as though my prediction for us could be quite accurate in that I had us finishing on 36 points - but in 15th position, oh how we would settle for that now!! The surprises from my prediction are: Palace - I had them to be relegated with 34 points. Sunderland - I actually had them finishing well up the table on 43 points Villa - I had finishing 10th on 46 points Chelsea - I had them winning the league by 6 points ahead of Man City. If we can beat the Gooners then at least my points prediction will be correct - not that it''s likely to save us now!
