1. If we play well against Soton then the mood will change. Why anyone is surprised by the negative reaction after Saturdays performance is quite bizarre. The CH out stuff is clearly nonsense but concerns about how we start the season after spending 25 million quid is just normal observation. Of course it is early and there is every possibility that we will gel and have a fabulous season but Saturday wasn''t good. When lasted looked our club wasn''t run by the Scientologists so I think that mixed reactions/criticism are still allowed without.resulting in optimistic blindness!
2. It''s the usual dross. Anyone constructively critisising our performances becomes less of a fan or that moronic repeater ,a pant wetter. Good posts Snake.
3. This article sums up my view of the game. The midfield line up was negative, disappointing and not worthy of an ambitious premier league side. When have square pegs ever worked in round holes?
4. Howson improved when CH was forced to put him back in the middle. Fer looked much at better controlling the play when forced to move further back by substitutions. If CH can learn from this we may see round pegs in round holes. Midfield for the next game (play a full strength side against Bury as they clearly need the practice) should be IMO Snodgrass Fer Howson or Johson Pilkington I prefer Howson in the Hoolahan role but would play Wes behind RVW .
5. It''s nice to vent a spleen or two but this is not going to happen. The board haven''t spent 25 million just to give the job to someone who would want their own players in.
6. That was a shocker on every level. It was tactically inept, poor skill levels and negative team selection. It was like watching 4 Gareth Battys in the middle. Garrido huffed but never really puffed, the defence must have been terrified by the support they had and RVW may as well have gone to the pub.
7.
I sense WOrthy out all over again people... Gird your Loins!
Ignorance beyond belief.
8. It is too early to judge whether CH has improved our team but we were inept today. I think it is entirely reasonable that some on here question the management team as we were unable to pass, move or create today. This afternoon was an embarrassment. Who do we think may be having the main influence on our quality of play? Pant wetters of Chris Hughton?
9.
Very strange selection today, a lot of muscle in the midfield against a team that doesn''t really need it. Need to play Fer and Tettey in the middle, Snodgrass out wide on for Johnson and Wes on for Howson at half time...we need to take it to them now they only have 10 men....
Agreed. Or push Howson into the hole if CH wants to hold fire on subs. Too many sidewards passing midfielders who appear to freeze when kicking forwards!
10. I am interested in all that relates to my club and do not enjoy reading put downs when someone starts a thread on a NCFC subject. I have no view on Til other than being amused to put a voice to an avatar( 5 Live transport interview - incisive stuff). I want some ex players to do well and enjoy the vignettes about the ones who frankly don''t warrant my support. It''s all about being a footie fan. Til has a right to complain but doesn''t have a right to be obeyed!
11.
Possession 44/56 according to BBC Sport
that more like the game I am watching.
12. tell you what though its going to be brilliant once we have a full fit first choice 11 out there. what we are lacking we have, just injured/suspended for this one. Frustrating for today but exciting that we will have a big step up in quality for the next game already at the club.
13.
pretty even so far could do with a bit more muscle in the middle of the park city quite deep, wolfie looking a bit lonely chasing balls over the top, do need to be careful of getting on the counter when we go forward, been giving the ball away a fair bit 25 yards out could go either way
Agreed. I think that this is a highish quality game for a curtain raiser. Still think that Howson is better in an advanced role.
14. We are missing three big spine players so this opener was always going to look a bit makeshift. This is a good attacking line up. It''s not a rousing affirmation of R. Bennett after the pre season but Martin has got his wish to play CB. Butterfield and Fox on the bench interesting. Snoddy must be having post international niggles.
15. I would be surprised if they line up like this against Everton .
16.
There seems to be a misunderstanding emerging that it''s about people wanting gay footballers to rub people''s noses in their private lives. I presume it''s rather that they might like not to have to hide their partners, set up fake girlfriends, cover up part of their identities 24-7. That''s what pro footballers coming out would help change (as the equivalent did with wider society and changed attitudes - apart from some on here, apparently) and why it''s being encouraged. I''d be proud of our club if we set a trend here, though wouldn''t personally want to see any of our players'' tadgers, that''s not what it''s about.
This
17. Have you seen the Bristol Bisons Rugby Club? http://www.bisonsrfc.co.uk/sites/default/files/bisj_0.jpg
18. The Bleacher Report has Palace ,Stoke and Sunderland which I cannot disagree with. Di Canio is an acquired taste ,Hughes could not reconstruct a side at QPR and Holloway is still "scratching his head to work out how to stay in this league".
