  1. Alton in North Hampshire....also lived in Reading for 9 years.
  2. Plus Forest have got a goal threat , just like all our rivals.
  3. Away trips to Hartlepool , Yeovil and Bristol Rovers . Three new grounds for me. And Hereford if they stay up. What fun..
  4. Last seaon. simiklar people were calling for Hucks to be dropped, so that we could give James Henry a go. He is our best player this season and near enough the only attacking player who shows any passion and urgency in the club.
  5. We have actually been consistent over the season so far ..first eleven games ....10 points   second eleven games ....13 points ( mainly with Lita )   third eleven ...9 points,  I would think that equalling our best spell so far is the  BEST we can hope for without any real goal threat such as Lita. That would leave us with 45 points with the last two games to play . In fact we will more likely be on 42/43 with two to play. For me it seems like we will be looking at Fulham 2005 all over again, can''t imagine that we will be safe on the last day. Have this team got the will and guts to do what the 2005 team failed to achieve ? Apart from the Doc and Crofty I think the answer is obvious......
  6. Roeder by a mile for me....the way he has dismantled the playing staff until the team is utterly useless , the treatment of Huckerby and the clubs own players in favour of mercenaries, the failure to sign any proper strikers....Never felt so pleased by a managerial sacking at the club, never disliked a manager so much.
  7. “Even with days like this (Forest on Sunday), when you''re winning and losing it''s all part of learning. The experience I''m gaining here is invaluable.” Yet another player promising to turn it round. But the final sentence he is quoted with saying sums up everything which is wrong with our club at the moment - Sunday''s fiasco was just part of his career development, just another learning experience. When you add in all the others like Bertrand is it any wonder we are, with Southampton and Charlton the three soft touches of the division, all packed with loan players. Having said that, our awful team on Sunday only had three loan players in it....it is near enough Roeder''s team with the ''new heroes'' included. I feel that our manager has messed up the reconstruction big time and has one last chance to put it right in the January window.
  8. Did a decent job and showed commitment eg at Bristol where Adebola cynically kicked him on the ankle and he played on because Drury had  gone off injured, Doc was making his comeback  and we had no one else to play CB . He seemed to get worse the more games he played though, hope he has a good career after 3 seasons out.
  9. And James Henry with his corner quadrant cheating.....
  10. Played as well as the system allowed. Created TWO golden chances early on through good passing and movement which Russell and Pattison missed. Then it was more survival which they were pretty comfortable with until the goals. Cort showed few good touches and lay offs and a couple of defensive headers from set pieces, no goalscoring chances. Plenty of effort , Croft very good. Lupoli totally ignored by Roeder and Russell on his own up front , then Cort with Russell playing just behind . A 0-0 would have been a fair result but I always felt Reading would score somehow.
  11. 20 miles up the road for me....easiest journey of the season , meeting Hampshire and Berkshire Canaries .
  12. Two up front is a must to relieve the pressure on the back four ....but have we got two forwards available ? Doc as a forward with Kennedy back in the defence maybe ?
  13. Last ever game at Elm Park before they got their sugar daddy stadium move.
  14. Absolutely, Forest last week reminded me so much of  Cardiff, Southampton, Scunthorpe, Col U and Watford away last season - real gutsy showings where they didn''t play that well but won/drew by fighting for 90 minutes to get the points to stay up. I feel we need one unbeaten run of maybe 7-8 matches to have a chance. Dion is such a miss this season, possibly even more than Huckerby. Even Jamie C contributed winning/equalising goals in 3/4 matches. Given that Lita will be soon gone, I just struggle to see who will be the ''new heroes '' for this season.
  15. I really hope you are right - I agree that on paper we have a stronger squad, though I notice that Hucks, Dion , Ched  Fozzy and Tiny Taylor are missing from your 2007-8 relegation team. What worries me is that we had a 13 match unbeaten run where the 2007-8 team showed real guts fight and spirit, led by the 5  players mentioned above. I cannot see any way that the current squad could match that run or even get close to it.
  16. The team reminds me of Leicester last year... no settled team, heaps of underperforming players and mercenaries, occasional flashes of form, big fan base and nice ground....unless we can find the equivalent of Ched to save us it might go down to the last day at Charlton.
  17. Every player was a hero tonight....so many good performances. Apart from the obvious ones I thought Croft, Bell, and Lita worked so hard to take the pressure off the defence. Pattison raised his game and Bertrand too. The support was excellent too , you could hear them loud and clear on the box. Well done to every one of them
  18. Thanks, makes it a lot clearer. I was not joking thought we did play with heart and spirit last year, even though we were a poor team at the time. To be fair, Burnley were totally off form last year and on a good run this year. Glad to hear that other people think Lita is a one good match in six player...and a complete waste of space away from home as he was at Bristol as well. Semi should be first choice ..was Bell any good....take it Crofty was dropped.
  19. October 28 2007 - Burnley 2 Norwich 1. 400 City fans stood to applaud the team off the pitch as the Jim Duffy led City with Chris Brown and John Hartson up front put up a brave fight. Only a dreadful open goal miss by Cureton stopped City from getting a deserved point. I got home at 3.00 am but felt my time had been well spent as a City team went 2 down in 3 minutes then dominated the next 80 with a spirited and gutsy display. The next day I ordered a special season ticket shirt because I was proud to be a supporter of the club, whatever the league position.                     ...................  One year on I could not be bothered to go - did the team get applauded off the pitch  after another spirited fightback ?
  20. Well said, Man. Still not convinced that the loan players will give the extra bit needed in difficult situations or risk injury to save a goal. Except Kennedy to be fair !
  21. Feel exactly the same as Mello about the current team, not that I actually know what the team is as it changes so much from game to game. I shall downgrade to a few home and a few away next season unless the current loan policy changes. Don''t have the money to waste on a bunch of mercenaries who will walk away whatever place we end up in.
