1.

Thats my message to the club, there are a  few City fans, myself included, who believe the following website''s theory: www.carrowroad.net Grant isn''t training, playing friendlies etc, and he''s rated 50-50 for the Watford game, hmm?  He must be ruddy wereks away from that fitness level that the gaffer demands. Let us know.........please.
What do you believe Wiz the Pros and Cons for doing so are for Lambo? Why is it in Lambert''s interest to keep it a secret? Will Watford completely base their game around stopping him? No. Because our play doesn''t start with him, they''ll put their biggest bloke on him for corners and set pieces and whoever is their first choice centre half will be tasked with looking after him.I think they''re not sure how long it will be, as it''s not an out and out definitive injury he has, like Stephen Smith, who they have come out and said what''s wrong, same as they did Ward. "Feeling it in his thigh" or whatever nonsensical Footballism that Lambo came out with (he''s prone to a few but not as embarassingly so as other gaffers we''ve had) doesn''t really lend itself to a date and time for return. And often clubs aren''t able to tell with conviction when a player will be ready. He may not be fully fit until early October because of the full pres seaosn he''s missed. But he played most of last season with a knock. An unfit Holt has proved that he still scores goals and doesn''t break down. Lambert has proven he is willing to risk an unfit Holt.Okay Wiz? That''s enough for now eh? [:)]
I do like your calm style Seat, and I respect and value your input and opinion, you must post more on here, and join us on carrowroad.net btw.
Thanks Wizzo, I am intending to. Ad thanks for the invite but I''ve only just got time to be pinkunning, to commit to another board too, with the whole other set of characters, their story arks, threads, sub plots etc. would be like trying to watch Lost from season one and 24 from hour one, day one similutaneously, I''ll end up wondering when Hurley is going to give that arrogant Jack Bauer a piece of his mind...
 2.
It was Brendo
Yup, that is DEFINITELY true. Though I thought Brendo had hair?
 3. wasn''t 100% sure if it should have been proven or proved so used one each time to ensure at least a 50% pass mark.

 5.
I was just thinking that as I read. [Y]
Moi aussi, I just mentioned this on another thread that there was a considered approach to how we should build up play and break the toon down, hasn''t looked like we''ve known what we''re doing like that for a  looooooonnnnnng time.
 6.
Surely we need a RB more than we need a back up target man?
I would like both, though would choose big lad up top over decent reliable right back. We have cover which isn''t ideal for Martin (R), who himself I don''t believe is a fantastic player, but for Holt there is nothing. No back up. Noone who has any transferrable skills.* *you can infer from this that I do not accept Michael Nelson has any transferrable skills to play CF
 7.
Hm fair enough, certainly seems the injury will be longer than first thought. Chance for Jackson and Martin to step up, but i feel a targetman perhaps on loan would make our squad complete.
I still don''t believe he will be out for a lengthy period of time.Having said that, against Newscastle we showed a reall pattern of play - a thoroughly considered, well-drilled and seemingly successfully communicated to every player - pattern of play. A Plan B if you like, when banging it up to holt isn''t available. I never saw this last year, not once, without Holt on the pitch, whilst we scored goals and got wins occassionally without him, it never seemed to be from tactically-led means. The fact it was only a friendly is irrelevant in this case, as I''m talking about the decisions made in the passing, David Fox alludes to it in the article that''s just been published with him by Arcahnt, there''s real methodical consideration about the way we''re trying to play, and that means with goal scorers up top (be they tall or short) chances will be both created and taken. In summary, I still think Plan A will come good for Watford and he''ll start, however I''m less concerned about Plan B than i ever have been, and if anything, think it''s going to be a delight to watch. Plan C (anything involving Oli Johnson) is still a complete disaster though.
 8.

Clearly means they are going to buy someone else.......
OR it means that we''re likely to sell Holt, Martin, Surman and Hoolahan at any moment - SACK THE BOARD.
I like my idea better.[:(]
Sorry, I was being tongue in my cheeks (as an overseas freelancer said to me recently [:)])
 9.
Mr Chops = Jens Berthal Askou. You heard it here first [;)]Congrats fella, I would say it gets easier from this point, but it doesn''t.
11.
We have little choice Martin and Jacko.................Grant won''t be fit!
You really should have mentioned this already, stop keeping things to yourself... oh.. hang on...
 12.
Good luck to Declan, and the Under 19''s, in the Semi Finals this afternoon at 3pm. Looks a big ask, against Spain though, Dec will get a good work out. Match can be seen via the link below. http://www.firstrow.net/
Awesome thanks for the link Georgey
 13. I can''t go, but am confident that this will be a great early away trip, I think we''re looking at 9 from 9 and second round of the cup this season.
 14.

Where have you heard that? Even if true we aren''t in the same situation as we''ve signed Jackson and therefore not resting all our hopes on one player..
Yes it is, almost! laughing at Scum is the same, because we''ve lost our top scorer too.............simples.
I don''t think you can spin this to be an equal blow. Also, this is fact versus rumour, if Holt was out until October, we would have signed/will sign a big lad on loan / permo. Simples. Also, top scorers aren''t everything, last year''s top two didn''t have a top scorer in the top 5 of the scoring charts (blackpool did thanks to him being the penno taker), everyone chipping in seems to be the way Wiz. The below suggests having a leading top scorer in the league has you playoff bound Whittingham Cardiff 22 Maynard Bristol City 21 Hooper Scunthorpe 19 Adam Blackpool 18 Chopra Cardiff 18
 15.

Very much doubt we''ll see him in a City shirt again.
i agree, if all goes well for him and he scores a few i expect it will be made permanent, maybe even in Janaury
I hope for his and our case that''s true.
 16.
I''m not so sure if the ''2nd X1'' wouldn''t stand their own in the chanpionship with Gill and Tudor Jones as extras. The one defining thing here is that we have pretty much two players challenging for each place - so when there is an injury, lack of form or simply a different ''style'' required players can be inter changed without the previous way of completely reshuffling - often meaning that players were played out of position, so to speak. What will be interesting is who will come good as the season progresses. Certainly both Nelson and Doherty came in from the cold, as did Lappin. Korry Smith emerged almost from nowhere. Maybe Francombe might follow suit.Other than Hoolahan and Ruddy there''s no one in the squad who would appear to be guaranteed a place - not a bad thing either.
I''ve been very impressed with Francombe. Hasn''t looked out of place in the two friendlies I''ve seen, indeed he came to whitebread''s rescue a couple of times at Dereham!
 17. I think you mae a very very good point. I''m not sure the current reserves would beat the relegated eleven hands down on skill level alone, but with Lambert''s management and the gerenal feel-good momentum that''s been generated it would be close. Certainly a very apposite point though.
 18.
They can do all of that already, and I can''t say I''ve noticed anything like that before.
But it will be the only place, because the live feed that eveyrone was using will no longer be available.I just hope someone has a dose of common sense and they let them get on with it as was.
 19.

Penguins are quite fun, as long as they''re not just standing around.
You already got to watch black and white figures standing still... they were the Newcastle defence!Ba dum tish!I''m here all week...
Oh Monkey, they were in their blue strip on Saturday. Good effort, but must try harder [:)]
 20.

Jackson has to ear his place in the starting line up. Shown a few nice touches but hardly pulled up trees so far. IF Horse is fit (and that''s a big if) he starts with Martin. Jackson and Oli are benchwarmers for the first few games at the very least.
Pulled up trees ffs!...Give the guy a chance..How many games.. No weeks..No months..Did it take Iwan? Saturday,he looked a lot better(shame about the Offside goal),especially with Chrissy, where there were signs of bonding starting..Apart from that, his touches were class..Give the guy 10 matches before we know if he is any good at pulling up trees!
I agree on this point completely.
 21.

I haven''t ignored it. I just think that if he''s still only 50/50 that he can make 90 minutes on Friday 6th August 7:45pm Lambo will play him.
haha then you know nothing about football and need to start watching bowls or something. If Holt isnt fit he wont start, Lamberts not an idiot.
No, Lambert isn''t an idiot, but he does take calculated risks concerning Holt and his injury: http://www.edp24.co.uk/content/edp24/sport/football/norwich-city/story.aspx?brand=EDPOnline&category=SportNorwich&tBrand=EDPOnline&tCategory=xDefault&itemid=NOED29%20Apr%202010%2009%3A39%3A18%3A703 in particular please note where he is talking about how they''ve been risking Holt playing with an injury up until prpomotoin was sealed - “There were times in training when he hurt himself and you think oh . . . but he just battled on and got on with it. We knew we had to get him through games. He did it and he''s been brilliant for us.”Obviously I am allowing myself a bit of artistic license with saying if he''s 50/50 her will start, it would probably have to be nearer to 80/20 - but starting the season on the telly, in front of a packed house, in a game which he has already described as "must win" if we are to maintain momentum (not must-win in any other context of course), then I think (though I know nothing about football do I, sorry) Holt would start.
 22. It''s not ideal though is it mate. You''ll end up with a bunch of trending chatter, where someone will take offence to someone saying Russell Martin''s left boot is shinier than his right one and then someone will retweet it accusing him of being first wiz, that will all kick off and people who log on at 15:58 for a score update will be just viewing an argument rather than who scored our opening two goals.Plus, there''s the tricky issue of profanity. Does your fine organ want to be encouraging traffic to view what could be potentially sweary messages when we''re 1-0 down away to Sheff U and someone''s had a few too many on the train up there?
 23.

Just add #pinkun if you''re at the game and on twitter....
Ha ha so this IS the cunning plan!
Undecided yet. Hoping for a better resolution to the farce.
Well they couldn''t do anything about a discussion via tweets backwards and forwards, I only think they''d be able to do you for pro-actively advertising it as a service and that twitter account being associated with a printed/online channel of media. If the tweets were to come from a non Pink-un branded account, and everyone who was a fan of the Pink-Un messageboard was made aware of this reliable source that would be at every game home and away (but was just a fan called Michael/Pete etc.) then they could all flock there for the live-tweet coverage. Not ideal I know, but would get roudn what you''re getting blocked for.
