Wow a Brighton midfielder , a Colchester bit player a Rangers reserve abd a centre half not good enough for Coventry , i tire of you people applauding everybody who comes into the club as great , look back to the Roeder , Grant and Gunn times in charge all their signings were hailed as great signings and dont knock them till they play 90% turned out to be rubbish and got us relegated .Remember how the few sane people on this board said Gunn was a terrible managerial appointment yet still the majority wouldnt have it , you let your support of the club blind yourselves to the rubbish .I stand by my opinion and its only my opinion that so far we have not made a decent signing just added poor class players to the squad and two good signings would have been far better than 7 or 8 poor ones , we are a squad full of lower league players and i expect a Peterboro type season .

First half decent player we have been linked with , no chance of him coming here with the likes of Middlesboro  interested.

They have a £3.5 million bid in for Chopra you could buy 50 of the cheapies we are bringing in with that , not one City signing  has strengthend the team one bit .

Blackpool got shot of him and he couldnt get a regular place in the Col Who side , is this really what we need ?

Same old people bigging up terrible signings just like every summer ,about time somebody reliased we got promoted not relegated .We need some Championship standard players not more run of the mill League 1 , they are not even stand out League 1 .

Lambert  didnt seem to think Cody was League 1 standard so i doubt he will be involved much a league higher , we definately need 1 maybe 2 good Championship strikers , as for Clinton Morrisson  4 or 5 years ago maybe but way way past his sell by date.

Ward a Premiership defender ? now what you have to remember is that Coventry City a very mediocre Championship club do not consider Ward worthy of a new contract and they have seen a lot more of him than any of us including Lambert. I can still remember last summer when people were bigging up all of Gunns flops in just the same way .

[;)] [/quote] If we are being financed on the qt at some point you have to spend the money on decent players or whats the point of having it , no point having the money to buy steak if you are going to continue eating corned beef  is there , that is common sense. As for something positive about the team well they are a very good league 1 squad.

Cannot see us making the top half , squad is mostly League 1 standard and not one signing or linked player shouts Championship class or ambition at you .Blackpool were very much the exception not the rule and most of the other top 6 teams had good squads that cost a bit , we still seem to want to do everything on the cheap  or free and it just wont work .

Been a City fan longer than you have been on the earth probably but you are letting your hate of Ipswich cloud your reasoning , go along and take a look at their squad and how much it cost go read where Keane has been told he can spend big money on a striker this summer then wake up and stop talking so much utter drivel.

Oh come on Marcus Evans is going to keep pumping money into them untill they make it to the Premiership where he will look to recoup his money with a good bit on top , if Ipswich are skint i wish we could be as skint as them because two or three of their players are worth more than our entire playing staff.

Keane has been told he can spend big money on a stiker this summer , Marcus Evans seems a very good owner  having shelled out millions already and still willing to back the manager .Surely they know you can get better value down in League 1 though  ? .

Harewood was on there the other night tonight its Ranger and Eagles clearly somebody just messing around.

[/quote] Forster -  has never played at that level yet . Drury - best days are well and truly behind him .Whitbread - is only a maybe. Russell and Hoolahan - in the team that got relegated from the Championship -Smith - maybe in a year or two . Martin - another maybe .Holt - will be too slow and cumbersome and no threat whatsoever in the Championship.If we really want to push for top 6 we need to bring in a little quality take our strikers Holt ,Martin,Johnson and MacDonald , will there be a weaker strikeforce in the division ? No .

Our fans have obviously got carried away with winning a league slightly higher than pub standard , as for the god Lambert lets wait till he has actually achieved something , Gunn would have got us out of that division.
