The whole scenario does point towards Villa really having next to no cash to spend. They could solve the current issue with a cheque to us for around £1M but are choosing to risk a tribunal where they could end up paying a significantly higher amount in compensation, costs and fines. (Remember what we ended up paying Colchester) If the bulls**t coming out of Villla is to believed they have taken more than that in additional season ticket sales since he joined. What is even more puzzling is the Culverhouse situation. Normally if a manager is taking his backroom staff they move on mass or within a day at most. Lambert is nothing without Culverhouse and surely he realises this or is he so arrogant he believes the success was down to him despite Cully taking first team training and looking as if he was making most of the tactical decisions during matches. Lambert is a motivator and gets the best out of players but take away Culverhouse''s tactical brain and the wonderboy may well be found somewhat wanting. McNally should wheel out Culverhouse at a press conference next week announcing he has been awarded a new improved 3 year contract and then we can all sit back and watch a financially crippled midland team finish lower than they did last season.

Sit back and enjoy the relegation battle

Last nights game between Blackburn and Liverpool made me realise what a great season we have had. All season I have been looking at Blackburns results willing them to have lost as they were one of the teams we needed to be above to avoid relegation. Last night I sat there willing them to beat Liverpool so we could finish higher in the league than the might reds. Relegation for the seaon to be perfect would be:- Wolves, QPR and anyone of the others down there scrapping for thier lives. -
Never heard any booing at Fulham either. Thought the atmosphere from the City fans was a bid flat though but I guess that comes with going two goals down early on. If he plays over Easter we need to get behind him and the rest of the team. Two quick games over the holiday period with 6 points at stake could make the table look a bit different if results all go the wrong way for us.

His first goal away at Leicester last year was one of the most important goals scored by a Norwich player in our promotion. Leicester away was a turning point in our season and marked the start of our promotion push. If he hadn''t scored that goal and we had not won at Leicester who knows where we would be now.

Some advice please

Holiday Inn is a good choice or the Premier Inn (Nelson). Nelson is right by the station and will let you park for the match. If you use the Holiday Inn move your car and park in side streets off Thorpe Road (Residents parking but ok on Sunday). The further from the ground you park the quicker you will get away. If you want the complete "Norwich City Experience" either Delias Restaurant or Yellows for eating. Both are superb. Delias will cost you around £40 a head and Yellows closer to £20. Of course drinking loads will push these prices up. You can look at both menus online. Have a great trip -
Applications for Newcastle will be open later this week. Its a long trip and probably wont be very cheap so a decent chance of GP 4 getting a ticket.

For anyone planning a trip to Newcastle I''d hold off booking travel etc. as I''ve got a feeling our game could easily be moved to the Sunday for live Sky coverage. The current scheduled Sky 4pm match is Aston Villa v Bolton, but with Bolton in the 6th round this will be postponed. The three Saturday fixtures still going ahead are: Fulham v Swansea Newcastle v Norwich Wigan v West Brom In my mind our match would be the most logical choice for Sky. Hadn''t thought about that. Had my hotel booked for several weeks totally forgetting it was the FA cup scheduled for that day. Thought when we lost on Saturday my booking was safe, now you have put me into depression again. Was going to book train last night but couldn''t find a ticket for under £90. May hold off a bit longer.
I organise the away travel for the Capital Canaries, trying to get a cheap fare anything other than 12 weeks in advance on the East Coast Mainline at weekends is almost impossible! I was quoted almost £80 return from London (based on the Saturday) about 6 weeks ago, but it was only valid there and then for 10+ travellers, so had to say no.
Looks like I will be driving as there are 3 of us.(£270 for train!!) Hotel booked for Saturday so even if the game is moved to Sunday we can have a good night out in Newcastle.

Whats the view like? You get a great view of the whole pitch. Unfortunately you are so far away from it you need a telescope to see who has the ball. Its a bit like watching a table football game being played in your garden from an upstairs window.

leicester fans in the barclay
Blofield Canary replied to lord montyjones's topic in Main Discussion - Norwich City
Great news then for the thousands on the season ticket waiting list. Any Norwich fan who has been found to purchase tickets for away fans is in breach of club rules and will likely have their season ticket cancelled or if not season ticket holders banned from buying tickets in the future. All tickets are traceable to the person who made the purchase. Go back to your own board, there will be very few Norwich fans daft enough to risk buying tickets for away fans. -
Jbghost, thats an impressive list of grounds you''ve attended. All 0-0 draws though? at least you can say you''re persistent! Keep going fella - one day you''ll see a goal!
Don''t know what happened there. Copied and pasted from a spreadsheet and ended up with all sorts of strange formatting. Up until a couple of years ago any away game which we got a nil nil draw would have been considered a major success!!

Including several old grounds that have been lost its 77 to watch Norwich play plus the New Wembley. 78 in total. Should add The Emirates this year. I hate them down the road but...
Blofield Canary replied to Hannibal's topic in Main Discussion - Norwich City
I would be happy never to play them again. The memory that the last time we played them we beat them 5 -1 will last for ever. Quite happy to see them rot in the lower leagues with increasing debt and decreasing crowds. Itreally is a depressing place with depressing fans that doesn''t deserve decent football. -

It''s not a game for a party atmosphere unless Cardiff have lost in the afternoon and we are 4 -0 with 5 minutes to play. We need to treat the game as a normal match and recreate the atmosphere of Leicester and Watford away. (or Ipswich if we are 5-1 up) -
Friendly against Colchester

Somebody should warn the lad its a bloody poor choice of opponents for his testimonial. Better remind him that his chairman would rather see the seats in the stadium empty than given to Norwich fans. (Can''t quite remember the exact quote from Robbie) -
Jas - we got stuck in the lower familly tier a few years back as we had a child in our application so we had the pleasure of finding out no beer served in this section. We just covered our colours and walked past the stewards into the adjacent home section and walked into the home bar which happily served us beer. Was worth it to see the faces on the home fans with us in their bar drinking.

A very good striker without doubt but was he really the best striker ever to play for Norwich? Chris Sutton - did a lot more for city and was certainly more succeful than Dean in what was of course a longer career. Craig Bellamy - again I would say better for city and more sucessful when he moved on (if only he was not such a prat he could have had a great career) What about Phil Boyer and Ted MacDougall - who is old enough to remember these two playing together before we sold Boyer to pay for the RiverEnd stand? No doubt the even older posters on here will have an argument for Ron Davies and others I never saw play

Score Predictions...
Blofield Canary replied to I am a Banana's topic in Main Discussion - Norwich City
I would love to believe that this will be the game where we finally come good against a poor team and boost our goal difference as well. As already posted you cannot underestimate the importance of an early goal. You just know the longer it goes at 0 - 0 the crowd will get edgy which will transfer to the players. Quite simply Carrow Road with over 26,000 city fans in attendance needs to shake at the foundations tomorrow from 10 minutes before kick off. Whatever happens early on the crowd need to constantly get behind the team. A difficult one to call but I finally think this could be the game we finally give somebody a good hiding. 6 - 1 for me. (or might be 0 - 0)
