1.
If we went bust (I dont think it will happen) would you support an ''FC Norwich City'' starting a few divisions below the conference? Who would you have as chairman? I wouldnt want Gossy or Gunny anywhere near it. Maybe something like this: Cheif Executive:-   Roy Blower (cares enough about the club to work hard and an honest guy, unlike Neil Doncaster) Director:-  Neil Adams Director:- Darren Eadie Director:- Stephen Fry Manager:- Dion Dublin Ass Manager:- Ian Crook (he can do it over webcam whilst chain smoking Marlboros) Part Time GK Coach:- Justin Hollman, in between his ''proper job'' maybe we could persuade him to sign up for a few hours a week! Stadium:-  who knows? maybe kings lynn would let us ground share, or maybe we could buy colney from the administrators at a discount price. Players:- Anyone from the Evening News sunday league that can kick straighter from 12 yards than Jamie Cureton. Maybe in a couple of years we could get Hucks back for a few seasons! Owners:-  The fans. 1,000,000 shares, with a maximum of 2,000 shares per person. Must show at least 2 season tickets or 40 ticket stubs from the last decade. This would result in a minimum 500 share holders. Every club decision is voted on, with a formal recommendation from the 7 suggested staff members mentioned above. Kit:-  Yellow and Green, first kit to be a copy of the 1992-93 shirt. Sponsors:- The highest bidder! Maybe Soccer AM! Possible Players:  Paul McVeigh, Phil Mulryne, Matt Halliday, Chris Martin if he hits the drink again, Darren Huckerby in a few years, the whole Norwich under 18s when they get made redundant,. How would you do it?
Sounds bloody great to me, can''t we do it now, regardless of bankrupcy!
 2.

Many threads end up discussing loan players and there seem to be certain fixed views shared by many if not most posters.  They are now accepted as undisputable truths and not challenged.   But are these views correct?  I know that there are a few posters who would never allow the facts to get in the way of a good prejudice but for the rest of you I would pose these issues: 1)   Loan Players Don''t Care - Sounds sensible as after all we are not their paymasters.  On the other hand, there is a clear opportunity for them to perform at a higher level than their reserves so they perhaps have an incentive.   I accept that some loan players, especially Gibbs have disappointed but that does not mean that they don''t care. So apart possibly from Henry at Leicester, where is the actual evidence that loan players don''t care?  Which player at which match has given any indication of not trying as hard or not caring as much as the contract players? Myth or Fact? 2)   Contract Players Do Care - We would all hope so but how many loan players were at Fulham in 2004, Plymouth for the last two seasons or QPR last season?   I think this is clearly a myth but Fact or Myth? 3)   Local Players will Die For the Shirt - Ok, I will gladly give you Jamie but who else?   Plymouth last season featured Martin, Rossi and Shackell.   How much dying for the shirt that day?   Did any of them or Ryan or Spillane show any greater desire than non local players last season?   I would love this to be fact but can''t see it. Fact or Myth? Personally, I think these are all myths.  There may be reasons to object to loans but I suggest that they are not the ones usually given and challenged above.   If you disagree, what is your hard evidence in players and matches?
I agree with all that Cambridge, however none of those are any of the reasons why our loans concern me anyway.  We lost Dublin and Hucks last season but for me the player who is most missed this season has been Evans, he was the one that needed replacing and wasn''t.My big conern over the loans is where does it leave us in the future, any good young talent in our squad at the moment belongs to someone else.  We just have far too many players to replace again come next summer, without allowing for any of our own players that may leave.  Loans are a fact of life in football now but 4 stikers on loan?  That''s just silly isn''t it?  I don''t see what Roeder is trying to acheive in the long term-term with so many.
In my opinion Roeder''s plan was to impress at Norwich (with a load of loan players) get us pushing for play offs, and then jump ship to a Championship club with money. Sad but true. The man has an incredibly cynical view of football and will not be here long whether he is successful or not.
 3.
Delia isn''t daft, she made this a family orientated club so she knows no one will protest. that is why their is no atmosphere at the games.[:(]
There is no atmosphere at most football grounds now, this is because we all have to sit down and the real fans are being priced out, to blame this on Delia Smith is almost as ridiculous as using Newcastle fans as a positive example of how football fans should behave. The Barcode Army are a complete joke. The club is going to be ruined by the barcode army''s ludicrous belief that they should be a Champions League club, a bit similar to many people on this boards ridiculous belief that there is a billionaire out there who will pump loadsamoney into the club. I''m rambling now but football fans need to get a grip. We are a Championship club, an average one at that. We don''t deserve more just because we get a few thousnad more fans each week. The only way to succeed in modern football is to be financed by a foreign billionaire or bide your time for several years hoping you might get lucky with a good manager. Football as I know and love it is dying, this is not down to Delia Smith. In the grand scheme of things the government need to intervene but never will.
 4. Okay I may be going a bit far here, but surely we all remember the way Dion was essentially managing the team from the pitch last season. Maybe Dion contributed more motivation wise than we dare to admit. Roeder just called a few mates and chanced upon some decent players, Ched, Bertrand etc.
 5.

Off topic, but does anyone know if there is a reason why Dublin is still listed in our first team as a striker on the official site?  Is it a mistake?  If not I say get him on for the last 20 mins.[:D]
Get him on the pitch as player manager, and on the board as the leader of a fan led consortium.
here here, an absolute legend of the highest order. Quality bloke. Was very friendly to me when I saw him in the city and was driving a little Citroen. Top bloke, hope he manages us one day. Preferably soon, re-sign Darren, sorry getting carried away.
 6. Sammy looks pretty pissed off to be spending his days off posing in the club shop. Quality shirt though, will hopefully aquire that and the San Jose shirt (quick delete this post and demote it to other football) soon enough. There''s no chance of me buying our ridiculous current home strip. Aviva logo on the back is really taking the piss. Why is it necessary for all our players to appear to have Aviva as their first name? I have in the past vaguely tried to support NCFC''s sponsors but Aviva can bugger off, they''ve helped the binners a lot more than us over the last few years.
 7.

"yeah because like all those other clubs Norwich are just going to disappear"well Norwich might not disappear in the foreseeable future, but clubs are disappearing you utter moron. Eventually there will only be about 40 professional clubs, if not less. The big b*stards has been wanting it for years. I know these clubs are much smaller than Norwich, but do you really think clubs such as Luton (The Real Norwich City) and Rotherham will last much longer? Biting the dust Scarborough Founded in 1879, went into liquidation in June 2007 owing more than £2m. A new club, Scarborough Athletic FC, formed by the Seadog supporters trust, currently stands top of the Kool Sport Northern Counties East League Division One Halifax Town Insolvent four times in the 13 years since 1995, went into administration in March this year and failed to recover. Expelled from the Conference for failing to pay creditors and ceased to exist in May. A reformed FC Halifax Town started this season in the UniBond League Division One North Nuneaton Borough Finished in seventh place last season in Conference North and declared to be in liquidation by the club''s directors on June 2 this year. Renamed Nuneaton Town and demoted two divisions to the British Gas Southern Football League Midlands Division Boston United A member of the Football League as recently as May 2007 but failed to pay creditors last season and was not accepted back into the Conference. Boston are now in the UniBond Premier Division, competing against, among others, Bradford Park Avenue and the supporter-owned FC United of Manchester. Oh and we probably spent around 150,000 quid on Lappin and Chadwick''s wages this season. I''d rather have the conservatory than pay players to play for the reserves.
This is not so dispiriting as it first might seem. Note that all of these clubs have re-formed and are playing football. As more and more of the bigger clubs fail and end up in these leagues the net effect will be the re-formation of the English league in a new fan-based structure. In fact, we will have returned to the old fashioned tribal-based, supporter led football where income is derived from those who pass through the turnstiles rather than TV money or global merchandising. High wages will be a thing of the past and footballers will once more belong to the clubs they play for. It might seem very messy and painful at the moment but when enough clubs have gone through the administration process and into bankruptcy and out the other end perhaps football will return to its roots and belong once again to the real supporters.
I really hope you are right Yellow Hammer. It would be awesome.

Now run along.Oh and i take great plesure from posters who revert to silly name calling, it kind of proves my arguement right.[:D]
No I don''t think NCFC is going to disappear with 25000 fans in every other week. But we haven''t always had 25000 fans turning up, and we might not always get those gates. I remember when 14000 was a decent gate for us, and it''s not that long ago. I think it is incredibly depressing that clubs are going out of business when one Premiership reserve players wages would save them. I apologize for calling you a moron, I just get frustrated that clubs are going out of business and the media is still running on about Gerrard/Lampard not being able to play together. The FA need to sort themselves out but so do the football media. I took my frustrations out on you I''m afraid. My bad.

 10.
Lets stick with a failing board then. With no investment this club is rubber ducked. Extreme circumstances require extreme solutions. We already have no money so the situation cant get any worse. Besides with 20k seasons tickets the club have robed us of our well earned money already. The last two games were there for the taking, dont forget that.
"We already have no money so the situation cant get any worse."I Think this is possibly the single most retarded sentence I have ever read on these boards and that is quite an achievement. It is such a stupid thing to say I am not even going to put forward obvious examples of how it could get worse. Please think or go away....
 11. Just read this on the guardian site about top referees being rotated to lower leagues:There are no repercussions for Steve Bennett either, criticised for awarding Wigan Athletic''s match-winning penalty for a dive by Wilson Palacios after minor contact in a tackle by Manchester City''s Javier Garrido, even though the official drops to League One for Peterborough United against Leeds United. All select group officials are on the rota for lower league games and any match involving Leeds is considered to be high profile. So in theory, Leeds are officially designated "better" referees than the rest of League 1 for the majority of their matches. Can this be correct? Can anyone explain this? I may be mis-reading something.
 12.
Would prefer some happy medium of the Portsmouth/Wigan variety.  Totally disillusioned with the excess moneybags going into the Prem.  Personally I would like to see the likes of Man U/The Arse/Chelski and three or four others piss off to some Euro Super League and leave the English league behind.
I agree with what you''re saying. It will be great when the big four bugger off and they''ll be a few years of unpredictability before the richest club wins status quo is re-established. However I''d rather not be Portsmouth if you don''t mind, the silly sods haven''t even got a training ground and also: http://www.guardian.co.uk/sport/blog/2008/sep/24/portsmouth.beitarjerusalem
 13. Just wondering what people would prefer....We tick along in the Championship as we have been since the mid 90''s with a year or two in the Premiership once every decade or so, but with a certain amount of "Norwichness" about us. For example Gunny and Gossy employed, resigning players like Russell and Cureton. Or...The full on arab millionaire buyout, we win the Premiership most years but have no English players, coaches etc. No academy as such, tickets treble in price, basically become Chelsea (in ten years). Obviously most would prefer somewhere in between, just wondering where people would draw the line, in the pursuit of glory.
 14. Gary Holt (can''t believe old three lungs hasn''t been mentioned yet), Iwan Roberts, Darren HuckerbyI could write a list of another twenty or so though. They are my favourites and I''ve been going since 92. Oh and Gunny would have to be there, the way he used to charge over to remonstrate with the linesman...
 15. Kenton was genuinely the best tackler I''ve ever seen. The song "You''ll never beat the Kenton" was at the time very well earned. A great defender while he was here, and I''m very surprised his career has gone so badly. I can only assume it was an attitude problem of some kind, as his tackling skills were immense. Admittedly he would forget he was playing right back and wander over to the left wing every once in a while but still......
 16. Mr Wizard, I have probably disagreed with almost every opinion you have ever had. However, I admire your dedication to the Norwich City cause and truly hope you are posting on this board for a long time to come. Get well soon and join me in this song: Whoa Jamie Jamie........
 17. I quite like Fozzy, though I think Russell should be in the side ahead of him. Would love to see Roeder''s face if he tried anything like this: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vEnX3RKVe_k&feature=relatedStill, would be nice to see some flair now our only exciting player has departed.
 18. I''ll bite. Greatest hope for this season? Greatest hope is that we win the Championship, can''t see it happening but then I didn''t see it coming at this stage last time. Mark Rivers being our top scorer at the time. Biggest fear? Relegation. Liquidation. Bankrupcy. Most important player? The striker we haven''t signed yet. Which is rather worrying.  Terrace Favourite? Nobody will come close to Hucks but my personal favourites are Russell, Drury and Otsemobor. Can''t see them playing much, as they were here before Mr Roeder.  Keep an eye out for? Hoolahan, looked good for Blackpool against us last year, I''m pretty sure he''ll come good Player so useless you''d quite happily drive him to his next club? I quite like all our players, although before this weekend''s assists I thought Crofty was pretty awful. Hopefully he''s learnt how to cross, and it wasn''t a fluke or two. Have you got the right manager? I think he will be relatively successful. However I can''t say I like him. He seems intent on getting rid of any player who preceeded himself, and I think he will leave for a bigger Championship team as soon as the opportunity presents itself. This would be terrible for the club and the anti-board protests (for better or worse) would reach Chase-esque proportions. I think (for better or worse) Mr Roeder has a very cold, unsentimental view of the game. Which team do you most want to beat this season? Franchise FC (oh well) Opposition player you despise? Can''t stand Lee Hughes (even before the killing) although fortunately he''s not in our league. Opposition player you secretly admire? Earnshaw, as we know he''s very good at this level, wouldn''t be surprised to see Forest sneak the playoffs.   If you could change one thing at the club what would it be? I''d like the fans to sing.
 19.
What i can remmember of him, i thought he was a good play linked up well with the attacking right midfieldeir that played at that time, and had his own attacking runs. Adn i could be wrong but iam have this feeling that he could cross a ball. Anyway were did he go after Norwich?
Ajax!
 20. Wouldn''t it be a better idea to get the fans to sing? Football is quiet and dull now, kids need excitement, bring back singing, slap the silent majority. Football is not played in a theatre! Stand up and sing! However: 1. You can''t call Pattison a C**t but feel free to use it to describe the opposition. 2. It says nothing in the players contracts about scoring goals so their agents would intervene.
 21. I''m pretty sure Marshall cost in excess of 1 million quid. As did the mighty Jon Newsome if my memory serves me correctly.
 22. The Football Factory is a pretty poor film, but it is part of a trilogy of fantastic books by John King. They cover many facets of "working class culture" and are among the best novels I have ever read. Irvine Welsh but more-believable and with football. Anyhow.... The Football Factory - John King Headhunters - John King England Away - John King   Read them all.............
 23. You really do embrace anything which suggests NCFC''s failure, even if it''s completely pointless and irrelevant. You are annoying, go away. Bye Bye Brains
 24.
I am not bitter, i have a season ticket at Norwich for this season so i will see for myself just how crap these players are. I cannot make it to Leeds every other week, 5 or 6 years ago i used to go with my stepdad regularly but no longer, Norwich are local for me and i don''t dispise them, i hope they do well, but i just cannot beleive that some of the people on this forum actually think that Fotheringham is good or Croft, who IMO is the worst footballer at the club. Promotion my bloody arse, if anyone is going to get promoted, you know who it is, Leeds United end of.
Leeds may well get promoted, but only because Bates is a nasty, corrupt bastard. Leeds have spent the past five years moaning on and on about how they spent all their money but it''s not their fault. Ken Bates manages to lead the club into "administration" then buy the club for bugger all from the annonymous owners (quite possibly himself) who had already appointed him chairman. I bloody hate Leeds, you may have guessed. Also the Leeds fans I have met are the most obnoxious, rude and violent thugs I have ever come across. If you want to slag off Crofty then fine, but remember which idiotic club signed Seth Johnson on three times the wages he was going to ask for.
 25.
There''s no problem with "occasionally rembering" past heroes, but it''s getting to the point of tedium, if not nausium. You dont see Man U fans still banging on about Beckham and Ruud, nor have thousands of extra Barca shirts been sold in north london. I think its acutally starting to affect the way some fans will feel about Huckerby, Every time I see a new thread pop up, or even see the match report from San Jose I get frustrated and start looking for NORWICH CITY news. He was a great player for us, but he''s not now. Deal with it.
Man U fans don''t bang on about Backham or Ruud but they still sing about Eric Cantona. Hucks has gone, and the club and fans will move on, but he was the biggest hero we''ve had since god knows when. I say keep up the San Jose threads on a different forum than "main discussion" if necessary. If you don''t want to read them then don''t. Leave us sad, pathetic gits, who are living in the past to enjoy our memories. For me personally I have enjoyed reading the Hucks/San Jose posts a lot more than any of the other garbage posted on here every day.
