Willis on 2 week trial from Dereham
dylanisabaddog replied to row's topic in Main Discussion - Norwich City
Previous poster has hit the nail on the head. Ollie is too short - probablyy around 5ft 6. He played in the City youth team that lost at Old Trafford in the FA Youth Cup about 7 or 8 years ago. I have been watching him play for Dereham for the last 4 yaers. He is way too good for the Ridgeons League but the Premier League is several steps too far for him. Are we simply looking for a right back to fill in at Reserve level? On a positive note, he played so well against Hucks a few years ago in a pre season friendly that DH threw his toys out of the pram -
What an extraordinarily offensive post. If you can''t even remember the first non British player you saw at Carrow Road you are obviously as dense as your pinkun name would suggest. Is your favourite comedian Jim Davidson by any chance?

Stoke in Europe / first home match
dylanisabaddog replied to flecky76's topic in Main Discussion - Norwich City
Will this game be moved to Sunday if Stoke are in Europe? I hope so - Dereham are playing Wroxham in the preliminary round of the FA Cup on the Saturday and I would like to see both games. -
The Times today says that we are in a 3 way battle with QPR and Fulham to sign Kyle Naughton on loan from Spurs. He is a full back, don''t know whether he is left or right footed. Seems unlikely to me that he would come here if 2 London clubs are interested.

Digging through some old toy boxes I stumbled across 5 Panini ''85 stickers. Chris Woods, Greg Downs, Steve Bruce, John Devine and Keith Bertschin. Also in the same box was a Peter Mendham sticker from Panini ''84. 26 years passing has made me forget why I was keeping them. Anyone else had random finds over the years?
I shot a snipe the other day when on an illicit poaching trip to the North Yorkshire moors. Imagine my surprise when, upon plucking and gutting the poor creature later on that evening to make a game pie, I found a lego figure with the face of Louie Donowa trapped in its gullet!
SCUM! . . . . .. . . . .. Louise Donowa, went to Ipswich didn''t he
No

Lansbury left out of Arsenal squad
dylanisabaddog replied to CanaryJames's topic in Main Discussion - Norwich City
Would Wenger really rest a player who only played a bit part for the u21''s? mmm? I''d have him back in a shot. If we get him for 2-3m I reckon he''d be worth nearer 10m in a few years and he can play anywhere in a flat midfield 4, and at the tip if we play the diamond; the only place he cant play is at the base if we go diamond. He has even played upfront for the Arsenal.
I think HL would do well at the base of the diamond. He puts himself about and he can pass. He just needs experience of playing there -
We do sing upstairs too you know[^o)]
I sit upstairs. That must have been the game I missed. -
A new song is needed for next season. How about new words for the Oasis song, Don''t Look Back in Anger, which sounds good and would irritate the Man City (and Man Utd) fans. The chorus is - And so Sally can wait, She knows it''s too late as we''re walking on by Her soul slides away, but don''t look back in anger I heard you say Who can come up with the best words to fit this tune? The best I can come up with is for the last 2 lines - Cross the ball to Holty You know he''ll score If you don''t know the tune, see this link (the chorus starts at 1 minute 11 seconds) - http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=r8OipmKFDeM In case you haven''t guessed, I''m getting bored. Is it nearly time to go to Wigan?

Ultimate all time Norwich City XI
dylanisabaddog replied to Jonzey's topic in Main Discussion - Norwich City
Woods Culverhouse Watson Bruce Bowen Barham Peters Phelan Huckerby Sutton Bellamy subs Eadie Hoolahan Gunn Townsend Boyer Not necessarily the best 11 players I have seen play for Norwich, but that team/squad would finish in the top 4 of the Premier League -
According to our friends over on WACCOE........

£7m seems a huge amount for Snodgrass. But Sunderland have just paid £8m (plus add ons) for Wickham -
Your favourite Norwich City.....
dylanisabaddog replied to Lennon7's topic in Main Discussion - Norwich City
1. Hucks 2. Martin O''Neill - last minute free kick at 1p5wich and the Steve Bruce semi final goal 3. Winning 2-1 at Old Trafford in a night game in the late 80''s. We played them off the pitch and you could have heard a pin drop. 4. Lambert 5. Grant Holt. Lambert''s greatest master stroke was making him captain. 6. the 1972 plain yellow and green. -
Your worst Norwich City......
dylanisabaddog replied to Jonzey's topic in Main Discussion - Norwich City
1 Lee Croft. Is he still playing somewhere, running the ball to the corner flag and falling over? 2 Megson OG at Ipswich in the last minute 3 5-0 defeat at Ipswich around 1977 was the most upsetting. The 3-0 defeat at Plymouth just after Roeder took over was the worst performance I have seen from a Norwich side in 42 years. Even worse than the 1-7 4 Roeder or Hamilton 5 I would have struggled with worst captain if other posters hadn''t reminded me of Fotheringham. Perhaps I had just tried to blank him out of my mind! 6 Worst kit was reserved for probably our best ever team in 1993 -
20 reasons why people love Norwich City

Reported in The Sunday Times today. Leeds have told Snodgrass that he will not be allowed to leave for less than £8m. The report goes on to say that we have made 2 bids, both less than £4m
I''d be very surprised if we were going for another centre-back, especially with the midfield looking paper thin. I mean with Ward, Barnett, Whitbread and de Laet, why would we want a fifth?
Ward and Whitbread may well struggle at the top level. On the odd occasion that we faced anyone with pace last year they had difficulties, particularly at Swansea. Even Vaughan gave them a hard time when we played at Palace, and Whitbread struggled to get anywhere near Danny Graham at Watford. Lambert is no mug, if he thinks we need another centre half then we do. Incidentally, Bougherra turned down a 2 year contract extension in April, saying that he wanted to play in the Premier League. he now has a year left on his contract.
