1.
A protest is needed, but not at THAT game, why not just boycott it?...............its on Sky TV anyway...............and at least you can switch off their bloody fans celebrating their win!.[:|]
We''ll get a hiding I''m pretty ceratin of that....and I think the Suffolk lads will be having enough of a laugh without fuelling the fire. I fear even boycotting games will be pointless at present as the season ticket numbers will be used to mask the unrest to the outside world....but surely some visible sign of dissent can''t be far away. Should it not happen however....then we can safely say that the celebrity hijack is complete and NCFC is now officially "Delia''s little Norwich". The propects look bleak.
 2.
Do you really think that people who have invested millions of their own cash into the club don''t care about it? They have more to lose than anyone does! Yes things have been done badly in the past and no doubt will be done so in the future (as is the same in all clubs). However I''m sure the directors of the club care just as passionately about it as any supporter and will be doing their utmost to remedy the situation. Perhaps the problem lies elsewhere in the club management structure rather than with those who have invested their own money?
Emotional rather than logical....... Another one caught in the Black Widow''s PR web.

 5.

It''s not just the LS land Mystic, it''s taking out loans to buy land, and not exactly going public on it (only through accounts) but then publically saying we are so in debt or only have money for loans. Selling players and investing in replacements half their value. Prudence and ambition are all very well if the club genuinely don''t have a £££ to spend, but seeing they are continuing to invest in concrete and bricks doesn''t exactly generate confidence in them to do anything credible. We don''t have to accept that any board have to use non-football related revenue as a source of income, we already know that, but NOT investing in the key areas of the business (that being a football club) is negligent, and for that they must endure thorough questioning and investigation. Surely promotion (and next time, proper investment to stay in the Premiership) is far better for the club, for everyone involved, than gambling on taking on more debt to buy up more land.....what happens when all the land around the ground is bought up? Seems they haven''t got much more to speculate on. It''s very nice having a big stadium and conveniently filling the extra corner with a hotel (though how much money does that bring in?) but what use will all those empty seats be in three years time if we continue in decline? Will the decreased ST sales and associated merchandising, corporate entertainment be enough to pay off the loans on the infrastruture. This has all happened before and they have all seen the results! This very board (at least the original members, have had to deal with it from day one, that to me is the biggest surprise of all, going down the same road as Chase). Having to then take out loans to refit offices and build roads, while not being able to find a creative midfielder (just one position we haven''t filled for the past three or so seasons) is not just an oversight, it''s negligence pure and simple.
What a good post. Now any chance we can see a reasoned point by point analysis of this by a board supporter, instead of just more petty jibes?
I think the reason "board supporters" don''t reply is that there is simply no point. You either believe that they haave the best interests of the club at heart or you don''t; I cannot imagine thaty constantly reiterating the same arguments is going to change people''s minds one way or the other. I believe that the emphasis on infrastructure reflects the alternative, hideously uncertain investments you can make in footballers (& managers). You could easily chuck £10 million at a set of players & still end up, through bad luck or bad judgement, with a crock of crap. They know this. They WILL pay for players if they/re a guaranteed, copper bottomed bargain (Ashton & Hux being the prime examples) - & even then, the player has got to want to come. Once the club is on a solid enough financial footing, then you can take some risks & splash a bit of cash. Until that happy day arrives, you need good scouts & an astute manager. That''s a different matter entirely.
They''ve been there...done that and been found wanting. They have had millions to play with...had the option of appointing a quality manager on numerous ocassions....yet here we are floundering at the foot of a very poor league. It''s far too late for excuses...and it''s time for the supporters to become pro-active rather than submissive. The only problem there is that there are too many Deliarites diluting the passion of the real club fans...
 6. If we get cut adrift from the pack...that''s the end of it. Unlike certain clubs like Preston and Sheffield Wednesday...we don''t have the manager, Board or squad capable of a relegation scrap. QPR you might say are as bad as us...but with new owners and a likely cash injection imminent...they are in a better state than us going forward. Who else is as bad as us? It was only good fortune that kept us up last year....and everyone''s luck runs out at some point.
 7.

Well Mello, the club have get to find £2.55million to pay the loan for the Laurence Scott land by next May, £400k for the infill and £900k to service the main debt. It goes without saying that NONE of these loans benefited the team. And people still can`t seem to figure out where the real problems at the club lie!? These nodding donkey, happy clapper supporters who have let the club sleepwalk into such a parlous position with barely a word of opposition should hang their heads in shame. Still, at least we`re not going to do a Leeds eh?......[8-)]
Hello again Mr Carrow [8-|][*] So now its the fans fault, but only the fans that go to games, just those nodding donkey types that clap any old rubbish in yellow and green. They should hang their heads in shame shouldn''t they? If only they were more like those knowledgeable stay away and watch it on the wireless types, we need more of them don''t we? If all those donkey clappy fans just stayed at home or went to watch Kings Lynn everything would be fine! We were having a chat on another thread last time I was here but that seems to have got lost under the a heap of anger and disappointment. Anyway, your post made me realise that the Turners are possibly the nodding donkeyist and happy clappyest supporters of all. Not only have they let the club sleepwalk into such a parlous position without a word but they paid 2m for the privelige. Or maybe they see it differently or maybe they have designs on changing it. Their investment and involvement could just be the start of a change of priorities, I hope so because if not I don''t know where the change will come from. They joined the board in a similar way to how Delia and MWJ joined. I guess the Turners 2m is the same sort of investment as the1m that Delia and MWJ invested in 1996. Two years later Geoffrey Watling chose to sell his shares making them majority shareholders and I guess those 2 years were where the board and the Smith Joneses checked eachother out. Maybe that''s where we are now with the Smith Joneses and the Turners? It''s nice to again Mr Carrow[8-|][*] I hope it wasn''t me that brought the level of debate down this time[;)] Always a pleasure, never a chore Sir! [Y]
Nutty, my best reply to that is the one on the previous thread. It`s only 3 or 4 pages back- not that hard to find. To be honest Nutty debating with you is like leading a donkey which is about to die of thirst to a crystal clear mountain pool.....then watching it turn it`s back. As far as your digs at Keith Roads go, i`m afraid if you wanted to debate City games attended over the years he would almost certainly put you to shame. By the way, if the Turner`s influence leads the club to restructuring the debts as Skipper has stated can be done, pledging the lot to the team on the pitch (at least £5million) and getting a Jewell type in to reinvigorate the club they would get support and a big [Y] [Y] from me. Do you think it`s likely to happen?
But you haven''t replied Mr Carrow and you havent debated anything. We have been over this so many times and we are very much in agreement about a lot of things. It''s just that I don''t see where the Turners fit into all of this. I don''t see why they would invest 2m of their own money into such a failed strategy unless they a) intend to make changes to the current policy or buy out the current majority shareholders or b) they are more stupid than the average messageboard bod! If you were a succesfull business man would you invest 2m in the club and then let it carry on the way it has been going for the last 3 years? 2m is a lot of money for anyone and its a huge amount to just toss away if you are a succesfull businessman. You don''t become succesfull by wasting 2m. Now I don''t mind the donkey jibes Mr Carrow, it''s more classy than being a sheep. I fondly remember that Cluck and ''e aw... ''e aw....''e always called me a sheep. Digs at Keith Roads [^o)].. I think you are just hiding behind another poster. But don''t assume that I would neccessarily lose the count. Is it going to be donkeys and sheep only at Turf Moor tomorrow night?[:^)] Mr Carrow, I really do respect your opinions and over the last year your posts have altered my views to a certain extent, but if you really think that it''s time for a change at the top in the boardroom then what do you think should be done to make it happen? Because as far as I can see the Turners are our best hope. You seem to have fallen for dear old Barry Skipper but he''s not going to help you, he was once in a position to though, you should remember what he said then. But he has sold to the Turners so maybe indirectly he has helped. But what can be done if it doesn''t get changed from the inside. Remember when we got Chase out? Well we should all be grateful that Geoffrey Watling was still there to buy his shares. Who is there now? The Turners are more than our best hope, in fact they are quite possibly are only hope. That is of course unless they are more stupid than the average messageboard bod.
And you didn`t want to respond to my last post on the other thread did you? So i`ll ask again. What exactly is the Turner`s plan for success which we should all rally around? If you don`t know it how can you be so positive about it? It`s just your latest lame excuse to deflect criticism from where it should be aimed. And the £2million is a LOAN, not a gift and can be advantageously set against tax-to be honest i can`t remember the details of it but it has been explained by another poster. If the influence of the Turner`s leads to the club appointing a proven manager and giving him a large enough war-chest to get out of this mess (at least £5million) then you will be right and i will be happily wrong. Do you think it`s very likely? I don`t need Barry Skipper to help me Nutty, but he has probably helped the club no end by getting to the nub of the real issues that droves of people have been studiously avoiding. Maybe he is getting a consortium together? Probably unlikely but then did you know G.Watling was going to take on Chase`s shares? Did you know Delia would step in? Every time you turn out to support the team you are effectively endorsing a board which has done anything but. People like Mr.Roads have got the sense to see this because their loyalty is to THE CLUB as an East Anglian institution and NOT to whoever happens to be running it at a certain moment in time-or even to whichever players are pulling on the shirt. It therefore follows that if the people in charge are harming THE CLUB a true supporter has to demand change, or for a spell withdraw their support- which is effectively bankrolling and propping up those people- for the longer-term good of the club. I have suggested that moderate supporters who will not give up going to games can still make their feelings known by engaging with the board, but for some reason you seemed to take mortal offense to this. I`ll ask you again. If you agree with alot of the criticisms of the board, what-other than merely hoping the Turner`s will bring about a big change in direction- do you suggest supporters do to effect a change in direction and prevent the same mistakes recurring over and over again?
Well Mr. Carrow....I don''t think I have read a more intelligent and honest view of the club and it''s plight....and you have touched on some very significant points for which the apologists have no answer. It''s hard banging your head against a brick wall and to some extent I gave up months ago....so I applaud your tenacity and energy. Thankfully there are folk like you out there who share my passion for the club rather than it''s ridiculously inept "owners".....so there is hope for the future at least. Very impressive Mr. C....as usual.......

Anyhow i like your idea of Canary sausages ,but i think they would be too hard to bone out , after thinking long and hard i will say no, but don''t be put off by my refusel, just keep those good ideas coming through . If i could just tell you the flavors we do , in order to help you ,the list is ,pork & apple , pork & leek, pork & mustard ,pork & stilton, cumberland ,hot chilie ,which are tear jerkers , and pork & chicken , which Fat Barman has enjoyed in the past . Re sausages...I have to say that Hutsons of Kessingland became my favourite brand and I would often collect several pounds to take back down to Dorset...and Craskes of course when I was a kid in Norwich. Pork and dried tomato at my local butchers is ok...though the meat is too coarse for my liking and the skins as tough as old boots. Maybe I''ll track you down when I''m up there next....as sadly Hutsons has closed.......       [:''(]

 15.
My mate has applied for it, here is a copy of the letter he sent in.  Vacancy – First Team Manager   Dear Mr Doncaster,   Please accept this letter as my formal application for the above position.   Admittedly, at 27, I don’t have extensive knowledge of the game, but lets face it, some of the past Norwich managers have those extra years and it got the club no-where. Also, I will admit to be slightly lacking in the ‘connections’ department. I don’t actually know anyone in the game, but once saw Rob Newman in McDonalds on the ring road.   In addition, I’ve met Trevor Brooking - I’m an advocate of the plans he has for youth football and I’d like to implement some changes to the youth set up (i.e. try and find some youngsters who can play football).   My managerial record currently stands at 100% - I managed my first game on Saturday and we won 5 – 1.   In addition, I have won countless ‘Master League’s’ on Pro Evolution Soccer for the PlayStation; Premier League’s, FA Cups, League Cups and European trophies on Football Manager; and currently have guided Norwich to top spot on FIFA 08 for the PlayStation 3 (on the ‘Legendary’ setting).   I suppose at this point I need to assure you I’m happy to take the step down to become the manager of a sinking ship, with no financial backing  - countered by the fact Norwich still (despite the appalling circumstances) have some of the best fans in the country.   I wouldn’t go so far as to say I’m ‘The Special One’. But I’m not far off.   Pick me. I dare you.   Your sincerely,        Martin Scent
Wonderful....and very pointed too.   10/10 [*]
Not to sound to melodramatic but has anyone else got a feeling of utter despair this morning, i woke up and immediately felt a wave of imponderable depression and helplessness, i have followed this club through the good and the bad for 25 odd years but this seasons shambles is really starting to get to me, i fear that we have gone beyond the point of help and that relegation this season is already nailed on, my god, when the players came out after half time testerday most had their heads down walked slowly onto the pitch an looked beaten before they had even kicked a ball, are things really that bad in the dressing room and behind the scenes? I don''t think it matters who the manager is going to be, this clubs problems run deeper than just a poor run of form, this once great and proud club is slowly destroying itself and god thats a hard thing to watch. I have never seen so many angry, upset and confused fans at Carrow Road ever as i did yesterday and the fact that 24,125 of us turned out again yesterday speaks volumes about the passion this clubs supporters have, it''s a pitty that some of the board and players don''t share that same passion then we might not be in this sad position.
If you''ve been following the club for 25 years...you know that better times can be had.  I feel most sorry for the youngsters for whom this is their early and important impression of the club and who could so easily drift away if the "habit" isn''t deeply entrenched. This club genuinely needs to be very careful because if they lose the loyalty and enthusiasm of the generation coming on...they (or whoever will be unfortunate enough to inherit this mess) will be scratching around for gate money for decades to come.....and it''s not as if there aren''t many other rewarding ways to spend your Saturday afternoons is there?.....
