1. 6 million. He just isn''t worth that and nobody will pay it.
2. We have had a interesting week at home which has resulted in 2 wins and 6 precious points. Well done lads. However I think we are in danger of getting carried away. There is a long way to go and we should not forget that at home we should win the majority of games given the support we have combined with the quality attackers we are blessed with. Now I don''t want to in anyway undermine what was a fantastic come back from the players but I was not that impressed with our overall performance. If that mistake had not been made by their defender I honestly think Luton would have run out comfortable 2 nil winners. I felt we weren''t really hurting them up to then. Before I get shot down by all you fans that can''t take constructive criticism, I can only say what I saw yesterday. our first goal was a complete gift our second was never meant by croft and anybody who tells me it was needs to take off their rose colourer blinkers. The third came because by then momentum had natural changed to the resurgent home side. Now I was jumping up and down like a lunatic every time we notched, but I consider myself to be old enough and wise enough to admit to myself that we got bloody lucky and we didn''t deserve all three point. If your not of that opinion then that’s fine. Ask a neutral who watched the whole game I''m sure they would have to agree Luton looked better than us for lots of that match. I still think that we will struggle away from home due to our mentality combined with our lack of bite. I feel that I would still like a new hand on the rudder to take our team forward. If we do gain promotion this season which I am still sceptical about my fear is we will maintain our negative approach to matches which cost us so dearly in our last premiership campaign. Worthington is a believer in that cautious approach. So I say thanks Nige for your service but no job is for life and if there is somebody who can do it better which I’m sure there is then lets give them ago. If all this good play we have witnessed is down to the input of Martin Hunter the give him a go if that what people want. But his influence show me that other people can take our club on further than Worthington. Players are shown no loyalty from our club, when they are of no further use or when somebody else can is brought in who is better they a disposed of why should that be any different with a manager. Harsh or realistic is what you have to decide. I’m not saying that is what will happen for a moment, after all Worthington is cheep and a yes man which is what our board likes. I’m just saying that’s what I would like to see. The future of this club long term will not always feature Nigel Worthington as the past did not. What does that mean. Nothing more profound than he is not the be all and end all of this club. Time will tell I’m sure and maybe I have no better reasoning than that the old adage that a change is as good as a rest. A different inputs seems to have helped, imagine if that input came from the very top maybe the change would be even greater.
3. Two excellent results at home this week. An all round commanding performance on Tuesday followed by a good show of character after a dodgy start against Luton. However without a win a Derby next weekend the start to the season can only be considered average. We must take away points if we are to have any lasting success in the league. Our away form over the last two seasons has be nothing less that abysmal. Can we take our improvement in form away from Carrow Road. We must go to places like Derby with the intention of winning. That will mean playing expansive football where we commit players forward and take our chances. Can Worthington recognise this or will he continue with his cautionary approach that has returned us minimal reward. Come on Norwich take in on now and show us you believe in yourselves so that we can all believe in you.
4. For about 60 minutes I’d have given everyone 5 with the exception of Robinson who would have got 3. The game turned on a bad defensive mistake. Without it I doubt we would have even got a draw. However it seemed to be the spur we needed. After that we improved I though Huck ran his socks off and would give he a 7 as I would Colin and Earnshaw and Etuhu everybody else would get a 6 except Robinson who would get 5. I didn''t agree with the man of the match either. Not one of Saf''s best games. Well done City but I was not any way near as impressed as I was on Tuesday. I will add though that if you are going to get out of this league you need a slice of luck. We took ours today.
5. I think Luton will give us a stern test on Saturday. In a league where so many teams are much of a muchness( and I don''t mean any disrespect in that statement as I would class us a one) momentum plays a large role in success. They have gotten off to a flyer with maximum points and moral will rightly be high. I would hope that is mirrored in our squad after Tuesday and I think Saturdays game will be a good battle. I certainly think they will be a stiffer test than Preston who look like a team in free fall to me after so much play off heartache and after the lose of a few good players. Should be a good one tomorrow with us just nicking it I hope.
6. What a great performance on Tuesday. Long may it last. However we should not sit in a laurels we still need new players. I still have my doubts that players like Robinson & Etuhu can turn in performances like that week in week out, but even if they can the squad is still desperately in need of back up. A striker would be the top of my list as either cover for or to partner Earnshaw. Leon gives his all but is not a natural goal scorer and the other strikers simple aren’t of any quality. I include Javis in that statement. The boy should be released by the club so he can drop down a division or two where his lack of pace and strength will be less of a handicap. Midfield cover would also be on my wish list. I feel that our defence despite the massive amount of goals we shipped in last term is not too bad. It was evident to me on Tuesday that our goals conceded ratio was directly linked to the amount of pressure the poor over worked back four were under last year. our midfield ran the game on Tuesday and as a result in the pressure on the defence was much less. Lets face it any defence in the world will let in goals eventually if there under sustained pressure without back up from the midfield. The chances of prolonged success will rely on many factors but I feel Injury will play the largest part. It is unrealistic to expect to go the whole season without injuries and I feel it will be our lack of depth that will hold us back. Hopefully a good start may be a factor in attracting new blood either before this window closes or in the January window if we are riding high. I understand that the money is tight but some speculation to accumulate must be under taken if we are to ever get out of this league again. Without new players that we were promised buy the club, last Tuesdays fabulous performance could turn out to be a false dawn. OTBC
7.
No, for the simple reason that you do not change a team that is playing well.  I personally think that Hughes can do a job for us this year IF the stupid fans who boo him shut up and let him get his confidence high.
Have you ever been to a game at CR. Seriously no disrespect meant but he''s terrible. I''m sure he''s a nice guy and all that and I don''t condone the booing but as a footballer he''s not fit for this league.
8. Gallagher. Sell Green use the money to get that big striker and win the bloody league.
9. To loathe is surely to hate and hatred is never a good thing. I wish for him to leave our club because he is failing in his job. After that I wish him the same is a wish any person at that is to live long and prosper. But then again I am a Vulcan
10. I would be interested to know the percentages on here of pro and against. I say roughly 70/30 in favour of him going. From the response we could calculate a figure albeit a rough one of what the 24000 or so fans at Carrow Road feel now the new season is under way. I know it’s not scientifically accurate but it would be interesting. my opinion is GO
11. I didn''t say I was judging the season I like many am judging a manager who has managed 6 away wins in over 40 games. I''m judging a manager who buys Hughes, Robinson, Etuhu and Thorne. I''m judging a manager who makes players like Mcveigh a scapegoat whilst still picking players like Hughes. I''m judging a manager who has told us he doesn''t care what the fans think. I judging a manager who isn''t interested in even talking to Sutton cos he''s to big a name for his liking. And finally I''m Judging a manager who has had far more time at our club than he is due. Time''s up the clock is ticking. The fans will have to be listened to eventually cos if you don''t one day you turn round and they ain''t there any more.
12. I personally feel the next 2 games are potentially Worthington’s last chance of survival. Anything less than say 4 points would surely be the catalyst for major demonstrations from a hugely increased proportion of city fans. Our home form has always supported our dreadful away record under Worthington. With the home form not up to much either last term dissatisfaction was always going to be voiced by the crowds. Even the most loyal fans must want to see us play good football at home. It going to be interesting .
13. By all accounts our performance yesterday did not warrant a defeat. In fact you could go as far as to say we should/could have won the match. With this in mind I''m sure that most of us honest fans will go to the game on Tuesday with and open mind and with the intention of giving the team and manager the benefit if the doubt until we see for ourselves what we have to offer this season. However here is the reality of our situation. We still lost to Leeds and we are all returning to CR after one of the most disappointing seasons ever in terms of expectation to result ratio. I am not the type who boo''s of call for the managers head whilst at the game I see little point and after all I''m there to concentrate on the football. I am one of the many who is totally disillusioned with our manager, his tactics and many of the personnel he has saddled us with. My question is how long will our benefit of the doubt last at the games. as I say I myself choose to watch the football rather than vent my displeasure to openly at the game but many others choose otherwise. Imagine if we are 1 nil down with 25 mins to go on Tuesday having had plenty of chance yet having failed to score. The atmosphere could turn very nasty very fast. I agree that on defeat away to a good Leeds side is not cause for too much concern but just cos we made a few chances and passed the ball a bit is no cause to suddenly become overly optimistic either. It’s a cliché but if things don’t change they stay as they are. I guess over the next couple of home games we will see how much has changed. OTBC
