I think part of it is also hedging our bets about not being promoted each time we go down. If we hadn't been promoted last year then it's quite probable that the likes of mumba and onel would have been turning out for us in the champs instead of our on loan...

While some on here are clearly trolling, this is nothing more than bigotted ignorance. Are you seriously trying to claim that trans people are "monsters, paedophiles and psychos" who are trying to convert people into being trans?!? Out of all the myriad of depressing, ignorant and stupid things I have read on this board over many, many years, this has to take top spot!

Stalin, Pol pot and North Korea are/were despots hiding behind a socialist name, I'm surprised you haven't rolled out Hitler since he was leader of the national socialist party! What about the countless millions that have been subjected in the name of capitalism? The whole slave trade for example, systemic genocide of native peoples to allow the expansion of free market countries?

Ok, so just taking this in isolation, what if people were systematically treating a race or (for sake of argument) religious group in a discriminatory way, can we "claim moral superiority" over them and try to get them to stop because we disagree with them? What about if they said that they were only allowed to live in certain places? How about then? What about if they were packed off to "education" camps? At what point does bigotry have to be present for you to say that we are justified in trying to do something about it?

Everton sign up big Frank Lampard
cornish sam replied to Mengo's topic in Main Discussion - Norwich City
Thanks Shef, that was exactly the kind of answer I was after... So it boils down to, they will probably try to fudge it so the book cost is nothing until they have cleared the current accounting period though they may not be allowed to depending on how 'nice' their auditors are.... I fully expect to hear nothing more about this then and everyone to just pretend that they haven't broken ffp. -

I saw that, says a lot about how desperate spurs were to get him off their books! Perhaps the FPA could clarify how the potential future payments should be represented in the accounts and if this would still have a (reduced?) Impact on FFP calculations... (I know there was a lot of talk on this kind of thing a few weeks ago in another thread but I lost track of that discussion) -
The problem with trying to spend our way to safety is that a) we don't have very much money and b) we're trying to spend against the richest club in the world™ Either what we already had is good enough or we would still fail despite spending so we go with what we have, don't upset the team that is starting to emerge and don't have to wait for new players to settle

£40m for Alli apparently!!! How the fudge can Everton afford this and not run into FFP? They've already spent something like half a billion over the last 5 years and hajrdly had a fee in that comes to mind... Edit: just answers my own question, looks like they can't... I wonder what their punishment will be? -
Transfer Window Watch

Could argue that Watford haven't strengthened despite their signings, similarly Burnley losing woods and replacing him with a potentially disruptive influence from Germany could go either way... -
Christian Eriksen? ...maybe?
cornish sam replied to spencer 1970's topic in Main Discussion - Norwich City
Turns out that Frank was his coach when he was a teenager so makes total sense that unless we offered silly money then he wouldn't ever have chosen us over Brentford... -
Erikson to Brentford confirmed

So it's not just a Danish connection it is actually a returning to his youth coach who made him the player he is connection...
