Guardian linking us with Arsenal No2
canarydan23 replied to Soldier on's topic in Main Discussion - Norwich City
I agree, as to get a coach like you describe here, we inevitably have to go for someone on something of a downward spiral, or pay more money than we can afford. Coaches who with a track record of Championship promotion will either being doing well in the EPL and unrealistic for us (Thomas Frank, Vincent Kompany, etc) or they're a feasible option for us only because they either failed at that level or had a modicum of success before getting the sack after a failure (Dean Smith). I'd much rather roll the dice on an unknown who COULD be the next big thing but might be a flop. Realistically, that's the only way we're going to get a manager with the nous to keep us in the EPL, assuming that is the club's ultimate aim. A manager who has proven their ability to get a club out of the Championship and stay in the Premier League for more than a season isn't going to be coming to Norwich. -
Guardian linking us with Arsenal No2

If Wagner gets us up, there is a good chance that in doing so he will have stopped Ipswich going up. If that happens, pretty much everyone will forgive him his weird lineups and even weirder substitutions; he'll be a legend. -
Is 31 points from the last 17 games...

Give him his fun, he wasn't able to use his "quiet on here tonight" yesterday, after all. -

Good to see that at least we're consolidating our position at the top of the Championship in something. Hell, we're higher than most EPL teams. Good old community club. -
Nail on head. It's patently clear @Branston Pickle has something against Angus Gunn. Ironic really, given his near absolute reluctance to criticise anything to do with the club, he shows a peculiar keeness to throw Gunn, one of our best players, maybe even the best player, this season under the bus.

Tzolis to be sold for 8 million?

Very strange what's happened with him. I can only imagine the deal that bought him here had a relatively low up front cost but a lot of extras based on appearances? Seems he's highly rated by lots of people, just no one in Norwich. No, he signed a 5-year deal when we got him. -
Ashley Barnes says we were crap

Bloody 20%er -
Nobody seriously believed we were in danger of relegation. There may have been a few fake binner accounts bleating about the prospect, but nobody genuinely believed that a squad largely accepted as being the 3rd or 4th well remunerated in the league, was going to be relegated. It'd be like predicting Chelsea or Man Utd were going to be relegated. To say we could be in a relegation battle so be positive is spin that would embarrass a Tory MP. This has been an appalling season where a squad easily capable of top 6 (as evidenced by the two positive runs we've enjoyed this season) is well off where we should be at this stage. If you're happy with that, well done I guess, maybe it's true what they say about bliss and ignorance? Objectively, next to bookies odds, pundits predictions and squad wage budget, we've underperformed. There has to be a reason for that. Some will conclude luck and injuries, others will say poor management. The reality is a mixture of the two, but it's management that has to accept the bulk of the blame.

Rowe hamstring injury

I heard he won't be back until Ipswich win a game. We're screwed. -
Wtf are you talking about? There was no realistic expectation that Norwich would be relegated this season. To suggest we are doing well because "many people" predicted we would go down is patent ****. It should tell you something that people are having to resort to outright lies to frame this season in a positive light.

No they didn't.

It's good to see this place busy again but...

Who had 5:50pm in the When Will Nutty Mention It Being Busy Sweepstake? -
Still doesn't excuse not putting VH on instead, putting Barnes up there killed us. And if Stacey was known to have been ill, where was the replacement right-back? Bafflingly stupid.

We've wasted this season keeping that muppet at the helm. We'd be easily top 6 but for the points Wagner's mind-boggling decisions have cost us.
