1. Yep, that''s a really good idea. If you want to make our club even more of a joke than it already is, go ahead and put it up for sale on Ebay. Luckily, this is never going to happen. In response to other posters, the reason why Souness is interested in Wolves and would never be interested in NCFC is obviously because Wolves offers much greater crowd pulling potentail and is therefore a much more viable commercial proposition. Say what you like about Delia, much of it ill-informed and completely crass, but she was/is a true supporter who put her money where her mouth was not for monetary gain but to help the club out at a time when it was in serious financial trouble. She may have made subsequent errors of judgement such as the board appointments and being too easily influenced by Directors offering poor advice but her loyalty and commitment to the club cannot be questioned.
2. Bloody hell, I''ll be watching. Sadly, the BBC don''t do a BBC No Personality Of The Year otherwise Worthless would win it hands down, know what I mean ?!
3. IMO Brown looks a very good prospect and I think the best is yet to come given injuries in the past. I also got the impression that SFC were Keane to get rid of him. Does Delia know about his recent exploits with a video camera ? Re clubs selling to rivals, the one that was most suspicious was Reading selling Hughes to us. I honestly thought at the time how odd it was for them to sell him to us. They got promoted and look what happened to us !
4. Yep, I thought the Crouch comparison was very fair too. From what I have read, Brown has alot to offer and the best is yet to come given the serious injury that interrupted his career. I also liked what Croft had to say based upon his personal experience of playing with Brown. Anyway, I remain open-minded and positive.
5. I couldn''t disagree with Ulf more. If we sell Earnie for £5M please explain how we would benefit. He''s the only player that scores goals for us on a regular basis. Without Earnie our goals will dry up and relegation must then look like a distinct possibility. I agree with the other poster that Earnie and Cole are very similar in that they miss many chances but they also score many too. You''ve got to be in it to stand a chance and Earnie has the knack of being in the right place at the right time. That instinctive ability is worth its weight in gold.
6. So the Pink Un is reporting that Warnock has shifted his attention from Nugent to Earnshaw. Warnock described Preston''s asking price of £6M for Nugent as outrageous but presumably the Preston Board deliberately set this level because they want to keep Nugent. Will Warnock be reported as describing the Norwich asking price for Earnshaw as outrageous or will we be shortly hearing mumblings from the likes of Doncaster that " every player has his price and Earnshaw wanted to go any way and pointless to try and keep him " ............. or will it be revealed that Earnshaw had a clause written in his contract enabling him to go if a Premiership club came in for him at, say, over £4M ?.......... for me, the next few days and the actions of our Board will determine once and for all whether or not our club has finally resigned itself to another long period of Championship mid-table mediochrity. I''m not confident.
7. Nope, I won''t sign. I haven''t got a high opinion of Robinson but I am sure that he does his best and I find postings like this unnecessarily spiteful. As for Malky, we shouldn''t have sold him or a host of others over the years but he''s gone and we have to move on.
8. Hello Wiz, I''m surprised that your critics didn''t respond to your post by saying something along the lines of "with all your carping no prizes for guessing what breed of fish you have in your aquarium !" ................. but they didn''t and nor will I ! Truth is that I empathise with much of what you say. I simply cannot believe the way that our club has nosedived over the last two years. On New Years Day 2005 I was at the Portsmouth match getting soaked. We went one man down after 5 minutes but still did enough to win max points but a goal disallowed and a dubious penalty against us resulted in a draw. However, we departed from Fratton Park having witnessed a fighting, committed performance from our team and with real hope of avoiding the drop. Our Board didn''t have the balls to invest in a quality striker at the start of that season and only did so when they realised that, actually, we were faring much better than expected but, of course, it was too late and it all ended with that ignominious and humiliating thrashing at Fulham. Referring to that game, my son made the observation that he didn''t think it wise that most of the Norwich fans were jeering and booing the Fulham players as they came out onto the pitch at the start. I glanced at the Fulham players and saw that they had heard the jeering and were glaring back at our fans. The 6-0 thrashing did suggest that the Fulham players were a little more motivated for a meaningless game (for them) than perhaps they should have been but I will never understand why our players looked so disinterested and unenergetic. Ah well, that''s all in the past, we had the chance and we blew it big time and, like the Wiz, I too am totally depressed by our cosy, complacent, comfortable self-congratulatory Board. As fars as Tamworth are concerned - muddy pitch, pouring rain, most of our team not "up for it", everybody bar us hoping for a "Lambs slaughter Canaries" headline .......  yep., all the ingredients are ther for another humiliation !! Personally, I don''t care how we win or by what margin as long as we get through. Another Dag Redbridge score will be fine with me. 1-0 to Norwich and it''s quickly forgotten but 1-0 to Tamworth and we will always be reminded of it.  I can see it now, the Clumsy Lumberjack embraces a Lamb, penalty to Tamworth and it''s Good Night Josephine. Sorry for the ramble, coffee break over. Bye for now and don''t let the Budderies grind you down Wiz !
9. I can''t believe the naivety of some of the posters on this board. The club and its supporters gave Green tremendous support and loyalty over many years and we all wished him well when he moved to West Ham. How did Green repay that loyalty ? By insulting the supporters and Norwich City. In other words he blatantly betrayed the loyalty of the club and its supporters. Therefore, as far as I am concerned I am now completely indifferent about Green.
10. No surprises there then ! What a breath of fresh air it would have been if Martin had been on the subs bench and come on for the last 20 mins or so full of youthful energy, enthusiasm and a point to prove or especially as Thorne missed two good opportunities in the dying minutes to equalise. Instead, Hucks is substituted and who comes on but ............. Fleming.
11. "Super-kid won''t be thrown in at deep end By CHRIS LAKEY Canaries super-kid Chris Martin is closing in on a place in the Norwich City first team squad - but he won''t be thrown in at the deep end." I can see it now, Chris Martin will be "on the fringe of the first team" but not get "an extended run" for the next 5 years.
12.
Pardew did well at Reading & West Ham, and, couldn''t possibly do a worse job than Brian Hamilton.
And what''s that you''re smoking ? ............  obviously not tobacco, opium perhaps ? No way is Pardew coming to Norwich.
13.
I know it''s incredibly unlikely, but, what about Pardew coming here as Director of Football?
And what''s that you''re smoking ?
14. I have no doubt that Worthy had exactly the same experience - the difference is that "Grunt " is openly admitting this and at the same time clearly indicating that he is going to do something about it. Sadly, it IS time to clear out the players who aren''t interested. To coin a phrase " You can''t keep on flogging a dead horse" - there comes a point when you have to bury it and start anew.
15. My premiership relegation trio is : Watford, Middlesborough and Charlton. Much as I wouldn''t shed any tears if West Ham were relegated I don''t think it will happen. A friend of mine supports West Ham and I have to say that, like most Hammers supporters, he does have an inflated idea of the club and their status. Trouble was, that when we were promoted he predicted  that we would come straight back down (as so many people enjoyed saying at the time - as if somehow Norwich supporters weren''t acutely aware themselves of that probability too !) and of course he was right. What I was not aware of at the time was that our Board was not only also aware of the high probability of being relegated but, in reality, had already accepted this as fact. Docaster is quoted today in the Pink''Un as saying that they took a risk buying Ashton in an effort to stay up but what he omitted to mention was that they only took that risk when after 4 months in the premiership they realised their mistake in not investing in a quality striker at the outset.
16. I was at a dinner some time ago when Tommy Docherty delivered the after dinner speech in which he said "Married ? Why get married, just find a woman you hate and give her your house. Saves years of misery. "  Well, Wiz, what you seem to be saying is : why don''t we just give Grant £600K and boot him out now and save years of misery ! Trouble is that time will probably show how wise your advice was.
17. I can''t sit hear chomping my sandwich and let you get away with this. Eagle is quick, has lots of ability and is definitely good enough. He''s young, enthusiastic, energetic, takes people on, gets good crosses in and is a home grown product. As for being too small, what  a lot of tripe. If a player doesn''t have the attributes listed size really doesn''t matter ; if a player has little ability then being tall will make no difference - just make his lack of ability stand out even more ! If you want proof that being short makes no difference if you''ve got the ability look no further than Our Earnie.... or Eadie or Cureton, Defoe, Walcott -  the list is endless.  Broadly on the same subject, I wish some of our fans would stop being so nasty and personal about our players on message boards. What''s the point, what benefit is there from being so vitriolic about Hughes and Robinson and any other player ? It''s simply counter productive. For my part, if a player is clearly committed and doing his best I''ll support him and from what I''ve seen both Hughes and Robinson fall into this category.
18. I''m not sure that Danny Crow is crap. He seems to have an eye for goal and it was odd that NW let him go when our squad was already pretty thin. However, having seen Crow on one of the Ron Atkinson/Peterborough programmes I can understand that NW couldn''t get on with him....... although it seemed there were plenty of players that upset NW''s sensibilities, I think that understandably Crow really did stick in his craw !   Anyway, casting back some years, I never understood why John Fashanu was sold. He had scored goals "for fun" in the reserves but was sold to Gillingham ( I think ?) for £50K.  Then there was Ade Akinbiyi. He and Cureton (?) were always scoring goals for the reserves and I remember him coming on for the last 10 mins at Carrow Rd against Bayern Munich.
