  1. I quote.... "Frustration that had been just below the surface for most of the match was now bubbling over as the "experts" in the crowd had their say - and each groan from the crowd was met by a misplaced pass, indecision, confidence sapping each and every one. Frustration that had been just below the surface for most of the match was now bubbling over as the "experts" in the crowd had their say - and each groan from the crowd was met by a misplaced pass, indecision, confidence sapping each and every one. "Experts"... please.... sod the lot of you!! Is that the best You can really do?   Steve
  2. hmmm... That Davis bloke on eadt.co.uk does his twice weekly webchats and there is a lot of info there, rather than the lightweight stuff we see for Norwich from PinkUn, etc. Now I''m certainly not an Ipswich supporter, but I do like to read what goes on there - i''ve even added a point of view followign the derby victory. I guess its a balancing act between "say what you see" and "lets not say too much as we''ll get banned from press conferences", although Davis does tread on some toes, but always seems to reconfirm his sources/info before spilling beans/hints!!!   Steve
  3. ...and you''re the kind of incompetent twat with no imagination its aimed at!! Ta, Steve
  4. I can''t believe the stuff I read on here. You are all morons (with a couple of exceptions) You have no ideas. You have no suggestions. The only thing you have is a lack of common sense and lack of reality. But its my fault for reading this muck! Bring back real journalism! Steve.
  5. Instead of advertising this here (as we can see the link on the main page) how about doing one of the following.... 1. Proof read the article.. (Five plus Three Plus Five equals thirteen not Eleven!!) 2. Replying to my email (sent three times to different email addresses). Just a "Thanks, but we''re not interested" would have been fine, rather than just ignoring it. Copy below.. Ta, Steve "Good morning. I’m not sure if you are interested in this, but I managed to get your paper on the official web site of HK Spisska Nov Ves. http://www.hk-snv.sk/modules.php?name=News&file=article&sid=258 It’s the first picture in the list of photos, halfway down the page. I was in Slovakia this weekend, as City had no match, so I decided to watch the Hockey match between Spisska Nova Ves and Trebisov. What was expected to be a tight match, possibly going into extra time, turned into a rout for the home team. New signing Novak made his debut and proceeded to eclipse Lita by scoring a hat-trick as the home side ran out 8-0 winners Pictured are Tomas Varga, President of the Official Supporters Club, Steve Ritchie (from England) and Miriam Vargova. I’d like to extend my thanks to the Supporters club for making me feel so welcome, and while I did not do a rendition of “On the ball, City”, I managed a solo chant of “sest nula, Spisska Nova Ves” (6-0 Spisska Nova ves) and received a resounding applause!!! "
  6. <---- moved away from Norwich when I was 21. Working my way back slowly (but still come up a lot) and followed them with gusto ever since I left. I wonder what happened to the chap I roomed with and got drunk with in Munich who came up from Cornwall and had never lived in Norwich........   Steve
  7. I always thought that one major benefit of promotion to the Premier League was that we would be playing Premier League reserve football. Its a shame that we have been shafted by the PL again - playing Colchester and Stevenage reserves once a month does noone any favours. It stikes me that no matter how good our academy is, players just don''t get the development chance once they have graduated. It seems to me to be such a gaping hole that I can''t believe that your Brookings, etc don''t make more of an issue about it. IMHO, its disappointing for the likes of Eagle. While his write up in the official match report suggests his performance was ok, where does he go from here? What are his development opportunities? Or maybe I''m looking at it too simply...! Steve
  8. Piffle?? Rubbish. The club said they "spent" 240,000. It also quite clearly states that they would have had to pay approx 1.1 million to secure the contract extension, which if already included in the long term team budget planning, could be seen as a saving. Even if you disagree with the words used or the amounts stated, its certainly far more factual than contract buy-out speculation. Steve
  9. Not wanting to pick at Pickles poor spelling and grammer, or Arthurs knowledge of contract law... Personally I see this as quite a positive move. I''m really disappointed that both these players did not stamp their authority on the team and had to go. Roder has quite clearly stated that both players were unlikely to play. However much money was paid to the players, it leaves them to find new clubs to continue their careers and ensures that the momentum with is with Norwich to ensure that their places are filled. Surely this is a win/win. While I''m on the subject, I''m sad that big Joe had to go - but again, I can understand why and for me this is a positive step too. I remember being happy that we had rejected a 4million bid for O''Neil, only to see him too often injured. I was happy to see McVeigh sign his extensions, only for him to fail to live up to the promise of his golden spell. Hindsight is a wondeful thing.....   Steve
  10. ....in which case the follow protest may help.... http://petitions.pm.gov.uk/slow-pedestrians/ .... which basically is asking for a fast lane to be introduced on pavements during busy periods. This would speed up the walk to Carrow Road hopefully in time for the beginning of a match. Hope this helps. Steve
  11. If Smidger lives on Greyfriars Road, then one can easily see the lengths (about 44 miles) which he is prepared to go to demonstrate his loyalty to the cause. http://www.streetmap.co.uk/newmap.srf?x=616214&y=244167&z=1&sv=Greyfriars+Road&st=6&tl=Greyfriars+Road,+Ipswich,+IP1&searchp=newsearch.srf&mapp=newmap.srf Thats one long protest march. Steve.
  12. Interesting. I''m at work and not on half term. I make it......   1 Watford   P18   GD5   PTS32 2. Norwich P18   GD5   PTS29 3. Bristol City P18 GD6 Pts27 etc..... Steve
  13. Seriously, though.... this is embarassing...... Perhaps articles should either not be written when directly out of the pub, or at least get a proof reader in. Perhaps, though, I''ve, mistakenly, forgotten all the things, which I learnt, at school, in respect to, commas, and, obviously, the full stop is, no longer, required "One man who definitely, left the running was Neil Warnock, who was today unveiled as Crystal Palace''s new boss, while his predecessor Peter Taylor, is being heavily linked with his former club Gillingham, who he led to promotion to the Championship in 2000 "   Steve,
  14. Quotes: " What beggars belief is that people like you are happy to witness the demise of our club, and be so smug about it!......." Nope - If you read my post, you can quite clearly see that I claimed nothing of the sort. If you are too busy to read the posts, then wait until the evening rather than post twaddle such as this. If my point was too much for you to absorb, wait until the weekend until you have more time and a dictionary.   Steve
  15. He certainly is a troll. The fact that his posts are still allowed sometimes beggars belief. Steve
  16. An excellent observation, Zippers...  I concur with your post!.   Steve
  17. ....blimey.... what a bunch of mistery-gits most of you lot seem to be.   Doom and Gloom..... OTBC Steve
  18. An definite improvement in the last post, Arthur. No spelling problems. Just work on your punctuation - I''ve, I''m, Don''t... and its ''I'' not i. Then wel can have a look at your ideas!!   Steve
  19. ...and I bet we will see no exciting football this weekend at Carrow Road, either. Disgusting!! Shamefull!! I think the stands will be very quiet too!! Just look at yourselves!!   Shame! :(   Steve
  20. I bought Bowen a beer in a Hertfordshire hotel as a thanks for that goal in Munich. Bantering with John Faulkner in a bar in Munich after *that* game, causing roars of approval after he announced (many times) that evenings score!! Chatting with Peter Mendham......   Steve
  21. ....hmmm... I think everyone is entitled to "their" opinion!!   :P Steve
  22. ...i seem to remember singing to Mr Gunn (obviously not when he was playing) to "Do the Marshall" and he eventually flapped his hands - oh how we laughed!!   Or maybe is the cooking sherry frying my memory banks!!!   Steve
  23. "....It has already been budgetted for and will not allow any extra funds for players.  But that is the reality of our situation.  The Boards balls up came 3 years ago, on promotion. Just after they had finally pushed the boat out to get Hucks - due to severe pressure from just about everyone in norfolk on these unambitious idiots....."   .....hard facts not speculation?!?!! Top mud-slinging!! :) Steve
  24. Is this the full text of the letter...?! "Give me one good reason why we should feel more optimistic about the way that the Norwich City board have let our players walk away from this club without replacing them (and don''t say the transfer period is not over yet, because who would really want to come here now) I''ve said along with others that the board is weak and far from ambitious. Every year the same people come out in their defence only for them all to walk away with the''''oh well maybe next year'''' attitude. ''''Delia''s our girl, we''re all one happy big family''''(pass the sick bucket) Its been the same for 3 seasons so I don''t know why I''m surprised everytime it happens. Chase was hounded out for the same reason, yet ''''darling Delia'''' gets away scot free everytime. Huckerby if you''re reading this, I wouldn''t blame you if you walked. Then maybe all the pro-Delia can really hang their heads in shame." If so, then I''m astounded that it got printed. It seems to be a childish argument, with no facts to back up the sentiment. Paragraph three makes no sense at all and paragraph four makes me cringe. Is that the best of the available letters? Blimey.... Whiffle and piffle.   Steve
  25. In what way was the Huckerby signing a battle by cautiaous (sic), prudent and unambitious people? Please explain.....   Thanks, Steve
