  1. ...and Cody hit the post early doors, while Norwich had to clean one off their own line too. I like the way Cody shouts "Cody''s up" before he jumps sometimes!!!   Steve
  2. I thought Wiggins looked quite solid. Zak W was excellent, quite vocal and won lots in the air. Not too afraid to play out of trouble with feet too. I was also v impressed with Francomb. McNamee, well I was hoping for a bit more from him, but there you go.Josh Dawkin made a nice little cameo at the back end of the second half.   Good turnout, and management trio there too.
  3. http://www.facebook.com/#/group.php?gid=148368801105   Its there already!! Steve   www.bar12.co.uk
  4. Yawn... its a shame, becuase the real man in the stands was always the first thing I looked for sat evening, sunday morning. Reading the new and infrequent man in the stands, is like occassionally bumping into an old girlfriend in Tescos.   Anywany, Monday was a great game. Shame about the result though. Watched it at www.bar12.co.uk in Hatfield, with two Ipswich supporters in the same bar. Fortunatly they left before the second Leeds goal, so I was still able to quiz them onver their great manager and wealthy invisible backer.   Good stuff all round! Steve www.steveritchie.co.uk
  5. Taken from ncfc.mobi........   2004-05 was a Premier League season for Norwich, somewhat spoilt by the nightmare of a thrashing by Fulham, which ultimately saw Premier League Co-Founders Norwich City relegated once again to the Championship. A glance at the league table shows that Norwich were only six points adrift of Portsmouth. Charlton finished above Portsmouth. Fast forward to the end of season 2007-08. Two seasons of parachute payments has been spent, managerial changes had been made, star players sold, under-performance on the field witnessed all much documented elsewhere. Roeder had saved Norwich from relegation to the third tier of English football as the 2007-08 season grew to a close. Norwich finished 17th in the Championship, Portsmouth rallied to 8th in the Premier League. If the Charlton model which we had strived for was out of reach, how did we perform against the Portsmouth model? The figures make for bleak reading. What immediately springs to mind is the massive difference in revenue from TV Sponsorship – a massive £49 million. Norwich managed to generate just 5% of this total. But delving further in, there is still a deficit of £4.6 million in like-for-like non-TV revenue comparisons. In other words Norwich were only able to generate 78% of Portsmouths total Non-TV Revenue. During this time Portsmouth were operating a leisure clothing company, had a stake in Local radio as well as starting a number of financial services. While Norwich had a superior season ticket fanbase (17,000 compared to 13866), Portsmouths 635 employees outnumbered that of Norwich. And this is one area where the difference between the Clubs is large. 2007/08 was a season that Manchester United finished up owing £649m. £5 million is a small portion of that, but figures show that 98% of Londons businesses in 2006 turned over less than £5 million highlighting that it is not an easy job to generate business to fill this gap. Perhaps this shows that while football club ownership is the plaything of the excessively wealthy, its also seriously big business and, football aside, the gap between clubs like Norwich and Portsmouth is growing larger by the day. All cash figures in £Millions. Debt £44 (Portsmouth) £18.8 (Norwich) Turnover £70 (P) £19 (N) TV Revenue £49 (P) £2.6 (N) Turn Less TV £21 (P) £16.4 (N) Losses £6.79 (P) £2.3 (N) Staff Costs £54.6 (P) £13.6 (N) Season Ticket Holders 13,866 (P) 17000 (N)   OTBC!!   Steve
  6. apologies, but presumably Blooms said: "They''re (Norwich) not having the best time at the moment" and not "There (Norwich) not having the best time at the moment"......   Steve
  7. ......spot on and a good call, Ryan.   Steve
  8. I was at both those matches!!! 92/93 was the season where the third division (or league 1 as it is now) contained the likes of... Stoke, bolton, west brom, reading, fulham, burnley, hull, wigan......   Steve
  9. Bryan was player recruitment, but correct me if I''m wrong, he did say that the players he recommended and those who arrive were two different things in some cases.....   Steve
  10. But, one of the thing I got from reading Iwans book was how the whole set-up worked as one. Hopefully that is what Delia is thinking..... For example, Iwan talks about how the whole set-up in the Promotion season was not just about (contracted) players, but their wives and families too. A happy wife and family makes for a happy player. There was much going on behind the scenes involving wives, etc. Maybe that is one of the many problems with the last couple of years. If people were having to tip-toe around Colney to avoid Roeder, then that does not make for a good atmpsphere to work in. To turn that around in only a few weeks is difficult in most organisations. Just a thought....! Steve
  11. damn... pleased you did not negotiate my pay rise   :)   Steve
  12. ... and also it is not succint (it is not a compact precise expression without wasted words) It does not make a clear, quickly read point. Does it leave the reader "no doubt as to the feelings behind the statement"? I''m not convinced. Granted, no crimes have been committed and no political points made. BUT, if your aim was to "to say where NCISA felt fans views were.." then this is far short of the mark. Steve
  13. :o) ... you were happy for that statement to go out in that format? I''m amazed!! I''m more than happy to proof read these things for you.   Steve
  14. ...indeed. The letter from Bertram/Bowkett was written last week, with two versions prepared depending on which division we were in. Quite obviously something at NCFC has to change and their letter was well thought out, consise, identifying areas of weaknees and dealing with specifics of what they wanted to see happen. A world away from the NCISA effort.   Look, I''m not trying to bash the NCISA just for the sake of it, but come on guys... i was expecting a better effort.   Steve
  15. "....so we issue a statement saying we have no confidence and suddenly NCISA now has to come up with the answers according to some." Not answers, just a coherent statement as to why you think they should go would have done.....   Steve
  16. ho hum... more infighting and knee-jerk reactions. Look, time is an important factor, but there is no match this week. I understand that you want to have this statement out in the open quickly, but at best its just a bitter rant and I apologise as I would expect something a bit more considered. Which mistakes have been repetitive? What lessons should have been learnt? Where is our "rightful" place in the football world? What mistakes have the board been responsible for? What boardroom changes do you want to see? Steve
  17. ...hmmm... poor grammer, lack of detail. A missed opportunity, IMHO. For what its worth....   Steve
  18. ...piffle, piffle, moan, moan, moan..... Jesus... let the guy kick a ball first. To55ers!!! Steve
  19. ..its was the BBC''s.... great game... it was my first!Steve
  20. jas.. you''re a prat. If you won the lottery you would still moanSteve
  21. There is one on that page too for Mr Doncaster.... anyone listened to that? Steve
  22. And for those that like their glasses half-full,.....   Norwich fire with all Gunns blazing Norwich Gunning for promotion   etc.....   Steve
