Although I''ll be hiding in a UCI cinema on Sunday afternoon watching HHGTG, may I assure you all that I will be doing my bit by wearing my best red pants.

It occurred to me this morning that even if Southampton hadn''t scored that last minute goal against us, we would still need to win at Fulham to survive. So although it seemed like the end of the world at the time, with hindsight losing at Southampton didn''t matter at all! Funny old game...

Look at this - When we won that trophy last season we were never allowed our own colour ribbons on it due (presumably) to some tacky tacky sponsorship deal. I know Coca Cola is red and white anyway, but I suspect the rules have been changed. When we won the League Cup in 85 it was called the Milk Cup, and the tacky tacky trophy we were handed had actually been modelled on a milk bottle. I know it''s not important, but it does rankle a bit!

I will be watching the 3pm showing of Hitchhikers Guide to the Galaxy at Norwich UCI. Any other cowards will be welcome to join me in this pathetic attempt to escape reality. Sorry, but I just can''t deal with this situation any other way

Off the top of his head he could list all those great British figures, although - rather quaintly - he felt that winning that football match had avenged some ancient wrong.
