  1. Obviously have no idea who we''ll get in for sure but I''d like to see: - An attacking centre midfielder (playmaker) - A right winger (with pace and a good cross) - A centre defender with pace. I think these three positions must be improved. We need to make sure that whoever we do buy will stay with us if we go down. We''ve been as good as we have cos of consistency and team spirit, we need to stick to that philosophy. I know our defensive record is outstanding this year but we weren''t playing in the Premiership this year were we. Any other editions should be long-term loans or young players with potential for the future. As far as getting rid of people I''d like to see Rivers and Easton out this summer.
  2. Know this might be wishful thinking, but just saw a post on bbc website about Huth from Chelsea. I know NW might be looking for experience but Huth is undoubtedly quality and would easliy be able to do the job for us (both now and possibly next year?).
  3. Gotta agree with ya there DD the right hand side seems to be the area NW should look to improve. I think that perhaps this is what he is hinting at but i would imagine his searching has drawn a blank (as nothin has happened). If we make it to the Premiership, maybe someone like Reid could be the answer? As for now!?! i guess we''ll have to wait and see. Either that or Hendo will hit form.
  4. Press conference with Manu Petit? Don''t know about that one mate! I know the willingness to believe has been a mainstay of this amazing season but lets not get carried away. I hope I''m wrong but i have to say that the possibility of us getting either joe cole or Manu Petit are extremely slim. Perhaps a loan move for Huth would be more realistic (not because we neccisarily need him at present but because NCFC have a good reputation of getting loan signings to want to stay) and i think he would be just what we need if we get to the promised land. I also noticed he is down the pecking order at chelsea and although Desailly may leave at the end of the year, i would be suprised if Big Rom didn''t buy two to replace him in the summer.
  5. As much as i hate glory hunters. I think we, the hardcore Norwich fans must be cautious not to alienate potential new fans. If we are nice to these people and accept them they are more likely to keep coming back. If the club wants to grow new supproters are essential! If you slate these people they won''t want to come back. It makes no sense to do this. Yes, i would prefer a loyal ncfc fan to be sitting in the ground but hey, the more the merrier. My dad is an example of someone who has taken more interest in ncfc of late, but who cares if he spends his money it goes to the same place. I hate to p**s anyone off but saying anyone who isn''t a hardcore norwich fan can''t come and watch is like saying you can''t let just anyone buy a toyota and that only existing toyota drivers are allowed. People seem to forget that football is a business that needs to make money. Money = success in modern football. (as long as it is spent wisely).
  6. Calm down. The next month or so will decide our future and until that is over I still refuse to mention the p word. Its been fantastic so far this season but we havn''t done it yet.
  7. Yeah, good idea! Wimbledon 0 Norwich 2 Iwan (19), McKenzie (82)
  8. Who would make starting 11? Defenders/GK: Midfielders: Strikers: Green Francis Huckerby Drury McVeigh Svennson Fleming Who would be in the squad? Brennan, Holt, Mulryne, McKenzie, Mackay, Edworthy, Roberts (one more season). Out on Loan? Jarvis, Henderson, Shackell, Sinclair, Briggs Players in? right-back, centre-back, creative centre midfielder, right-winger.
  9. According to recent reports Burnley are in a financial mess! Perhaps NW should keep a close eye on this one. Robbie Blake is a good player and has scored alot of goals this season already and although he is currently playing up-front he is a natural right-sided midfielder. There may be an opportunity for a bargain buy. Rivers or Easton could be offered in part exchange, which would also free up some wages. There have been reports that he is unsettled and he may fancy a move to a club at the top of the first division!
  10. I think it is important to gain a sponsor for the new groud. The revenue gained from such sponsorship rights could be huge. I believe the board will wait and see if we get to the Premiership before deciding on a new name. If we are in the Premiership the money raised will be larger, if we are not it would still be much needed revenue for N.W to spend on the team! Don''t get me wrong, if we could find a sponsor who would pay for advertising rights only and not the name it would be better but I think that is unlikely. As football supporters we must be careful not to allow the modern, comercial driven world to take away the heart of our club, however, we must NOT be backward thinking. I don''t care if the new stand is called the McDonalds stand as long as the atmosphere and the team is right. OTBC
  11. I also saw this program last night and I have to say he was the most awful excuse for a human being. He was racist, he openly admitted connections to mafia dons, dictators and genocidal lunatics like Arkan. Soooooo happy that NCFC had nothing to do with this man. What must Dundee have been thinking! 450 million or not.
  12. I read on a BBC gossip page that Nick Barmby is on his way to Carrow Road. Now whilst this may be complete B*****ks, as it may indeed just be gossip, the thought of it made me think what a good move this could be. Now granted he hasn''t played first team football for a while but maybe it''s just managerial difficulties and a few injuries (remember scott parker?). The gossip column also said that Leeds would be willing to offload him and possibly even subsidise his wages just to get some of the money off their wage bill. So does anyone know any more on this? Or on Barmby generally? I know some of you would agree that we need a creative player!
  13. I have never been a fan of Eastons I just don''t rate him! Can someone pleeeeeeeease give me one good reason why he is still at the club collecting his weekly pay cheque? We need a player with flair and passing ability in the middle not this DONKEY! Anyone agree? Sad to see Mulryne''s not on top form, inconsistancy with some of our players (Rivers included) seems to be an issue at the moment...still we are top of the league by two pints so I''m not gong to worry too much. Not until a string of bad performances is put together, anyway.
  14. He was at Portsmouth until a couple of days ago, I believe, I really don''t know anymore about him.
  15. Zivkovic to Norwich? A man without a club who''s wages could be affordable (as he is currently out of a job). A player with his experience could provided good competition for places at the back. Does anyone know more on this player?
  16. Svensson is a good player and therefore has no need to rush contract talks. I think what we are consistantly seeing are the most evil, untrustworthy scum in football. AGENTS. These money hungry people will do anything to get more money in their pockets. Look at Huckerby''s agent!
  17. Well, it looks as though we could be in for an exciting second half of the season (should we get Huckerby & Svensson). I would be elated if Worthy could pull off these transfers, but let us not forget that the rest of the team needs to perform if these signings are to shot us to the ''promised land''. Mulryne, Francis, Holt, Mackay, Fleming! If they stay consistant and solid...the Premiership beckons. If not...disaster could await us! Come on canaries! You owe it to yourselves and to your loyal fans.
