  1. Agreed what a prat if I saw it right he cupped his ear to the city fans after his first Any player who in his prime deliberately trades man u for man city is a prat end of personally I hope man u win the title
  2. Good for him I think his problem isn''t lack of something it''s that what sort of player is he not a target man, not a poacher, not a channel runner not a true number ten. Saying that u could have said the same thing about all the other players of his generation at the academy the Jarvis brothers I mean where the f was Rossi natural position, Henderson, Spillane etc...
  3. It was odd really odd so think this discussion is valid never. Seen a defender just give up on a chase like that before ESP when it was his error.
  4. We are all assuming that drury wants to stay and be second or third choice left back. Would imagine there will be a host of championship clubs lining up to offer him a 2 or 3 year contract something he might not get if he stays on the bench at Norwich next year I would like him to stay but would you turn down 250k to stay loyal to your employers just saying
  5. Here here People seem to forget the guy is still very raw and was playing non league not so long ago and is playing under jacket at millwall much different? There is a chance that Steve is just physically and mentally knackered and needs a break but due to our small squad has to remain in the squad.
  6. We can''t play holy as a lone front man and never have this season? He has no pace and any opposition will push up to half way
  7. Lambert has continued to shuffle his pack this season with lineups including: 4411 Diamond 442 352 Basically I feel he wants to play wes behind a front two hence the trusty diamond this though seems to have had its day with Wigan match seeing us overrun again. The 4411 has not appeared for awhile mainly as we lack a striker to hold the ball up and run in behind (but who doesn''t). The latestest solution was the 352 which is kinda the diamond but. With an extra defender will be interesting if we see it again. If we don''t then are wes days numbered? How do you think we will line up next season?
  8. Marshall is a bit of a classic example of what I am talking about was he good and his problem was a back 4 of ostembor shack Doherty drury or was he just as bad and his back 4
  9. It''s in general not really drury just good players trapped in bad Norwich teams and bad players in good teams. Lupoli was a player I had completely forgotten about! Not sure about shack he''s still playing championship football. Something which cannot be said of messers goss, sutch, coote, mulyrne etc
  10. Askou good one! Agree entirely not a popular one but maybe korey just a little over hyped wes and Russell partnership was too good 4 league one.
  11. Adam drury ten plus years have got me thinking. Adam is clearly a good player and has been a wonderful servant for the club. Despite this he has been criticised in the past. Basically I think he looks a good player in a good team and an average one in a bad team. Which made me think do we have any bad players in the current good team and did we have good players in previous bad teams. I think David Marshall was a lot better than is given credit for ditto etuhu. Anymore??
  12. Just a quick one but people forget Morison was a non-league not so long ago. He is still quite raw really and I think the 4 games in two weeks has caught up with a few Norwich players Morison included
  13. I would''nt write him off he''s hardly had a sniff this season. But he''s always kind of reminded me of Clint Easton
  14. MOTD it''s been awful for years you can get much better insight in any of the broadsheet newspapers. Anyone else remember the world cup when Danny Baker walked in and gave more energy and opnions in five minutes than the three wise men did in the entire tourament. Shearer response was "can I have some of what he''s been drinking". The only thing i would say is Lineker is wasted as the anchor. He''s one of the best players England has ever produced and he askes Mark "quip" Lawrenson how he thinks I''d advise anyone to check out Football Weekly on the guardian with James Richardson or Sunday supplement on sky.
  15. I''m a bit late on the draw here - but would I loved to have seen 6ft4 Steven Reid take the penalty after he threw himself to the ground like a big girl. See it''s a really good idea!!!
  16. I still think the idea is sound. You do down you man up and take the pen (and the abuse from the crowd). As I said before unless you it''s a line decision then video ref''s won''t work
  17. I think the problem with video decisions if is that unless it''s cut and dry i.e. a line decision, in or out. Then it''s not worth it - cricket is the perfect example sometimes they show replays from every angle but it''s no clearer. Football would be even worse espcially as I said earlier most players look for the contact and if there is contact then surely it''s a penalty. It''s very very rare you see an outright dive it''s more and more someone deliberate falls over a leg That''s why the player who wins it takes is a good alternative
  18. Hmmm I cant see video replays coming in for anything other than goal line decisions end of. Bearing that in mind I think this idea would be a move in the right direction. I take the point that some players might be more likely to go over but I think even if this won''t stop all players it might make some think twice - for example Lampard has scored something like 39/40 pens I reckon ramires record won''t be so special so it would lessen the advantage gained. This would bring Football into line with Basketball where by you draw the fall you take the free throws it''s logical. The idea of extending it to the rest of the field would fundamentally change football - I think for the better...
  19. Given what has happened to us already this season regarding penalties got me thinking about how a simple rule change might help the situation. The idea is : The Player who wins the penalty has to take the resulting kick unless he is injured and unable to take it then a named player choosen before kick off can take it. In reality at the moment a player is more likely to go over a leg rather than jump it in the box, make sure the keeper takes him out rather than simply scoring etc... I accept this it''s ok the outright dive is a rare sight. I think changing the rules might make some player think twice and encourage them to finish the job off themselves. Don''t think messers ramires and di santo would be celebrating as much if they can to get up and take the kick. As an aside could this rule to extended to all set plays? Good idea - can''t think of a downside? Could be done at all levels as well? The new back pass rule?
  20. I don''t doubt we need to freshen the team up a bit but think evolution rather than revolution. I think the failure to resign the doc, russell and forster may come back to bit us. Plus i''m a bit annoyed that for the first time since early Worthy that we had a settled side that''s now gone and I don''t think it''s a good thing. LAst year about 14 players plus a few cameos won us promotion they were Forster, Martin, spillane, nelson , askou, doc, drury, lappin, smith, russell, hughes, wes, martin and holt - only wes, holt and drury are definite starters this year that''s a bit sad and the other players deserve better I personally hope last year hasn''t gone to lambert head - the turning point in my eyes was when in turned to Doherty, Wes and Russell and stuck them back in the side and we did''nt look back.
  21. Bit worried that the starting XI has changed so much that the team will play like a group of strangers. Given that the first choice team this season is likely to be Ruddy, Smith K, Whitbread, Ward, Drury, Crofts, Fox, Surman, Wes, Jackson, Holt compare that against last years Forster, Martin, Askou, Doc, Drury, Russell, Smith, Lappin, Wes, Martin and Holt That''s 8 changes from last season given the way the team played that''s a massive upheaval!! Basically we have a brand new defence and midfiled i fear that a poor start will equal a relegation fight and we will lose the winning mentality we built up last season. Momentum in football is just massive and turning it around is so difficult it took relegation last time for us to turn it round.
  22. Not an obvious choice but I would say of recent times the worst signing has to be Rob Earnshaw. Nothing against Earnie he was a good player but at completely the wrong time for the club. At the time we had a number of quality second strikers Huckerby, Leon even Mcveigh who were dying to team up with someone a bit like Ashton the man who earnshaw effectively replaced. I would loved to have been a fly on the wall when Earnshaw was announced in the dressing room. At the time we despately needed at least four new players. Worthy quickly realised he had no one to play up front with (Peter Thorne?) and what worse he had blown all the parachute cash on him. Meaning we had on money for the new central defender and target man we despately needed. The problems only got worst when Peter grant then replaced Earnshaw with Cureton who still had no one to play up front with - poor Grant then had to scrape the barrel with his signing as Worthy had blown the budget apart on a player we did''nt need. Effectively Dean Ashton was only replaced with the signing of grant Holt
  23. Is it just me or is it difficult to get excited by a player who has just been released by Coventry. Surely if he was any good they would want to keep him.
  24. 1) Sorry I just don''t believe that for a second - our players deliberated lost to get us relegated what a joke - That match a lot of things went wrong - the Steve Foley Incident, tactics we needed to win so went for it we missed chance after chance in the first half, we had''nt won away all year, Fulham had an excellent home record and were a good team. 2) I think we all now Roeder handled the huckerby situation badly so this is hardly a revelation 3) NOthing wrong with the decision to sell Malky/ Iwan it''s just we replaced both of them with Gary Doherty. 4) I agree but this is hardly rocket science
  25. Ok then adopt the standard 4-2-3-1 Fraser Spillane whitbread Doc Drury Russell Hughes Wes McVeigh MacNamee Holt
