Duurrrr.......

So in summary This tool called out fans for chanting a chant he didn’t hear at a game he didn’t go to. He then quotes a chant that no one has ever heard before (“it’s 0.0 and we are sh1t”) , and it definitely wasn’t at Chelsea but was a chant that Webber heared ( at Chelsea) . Then it wasn’t the fans (who are great) but other people who aren’t fans who go to matches to do things other than be fans or even watch the football. To wrap it up it was because of thischant that Norwich lost 7 nil , and if only people listened to him more often all of our lives would be wonderful and Norwich would win every week. @Pete Raven please find a way for me to block this utter moron ? It doesn’t work when I try . -

Webber’s interview
Graham Paddons Beard replied to Dean Coneys boots's topic in Main Discussion - Norwich City
listened to Webber speak at a Business event last night SW decided he had to react to the various press comments - his interviews with the national media were to put right some of the inaccuracies that have been written. Webber felt the Club had “got it wrong” in pre season by being too quiet and “humble” rather than putting its case and making more of the tough fixture start . As ever he was forthright and impressive. -

The most annoying thing about this guy is that I can’t block him? Because there are apparently other accounts with the same name it blocks one of those instead So I have to trawl through this guff to find the interesting stuff. -

WTF is that all about ? I got half way down and gave up. I hope it was something expensive rather than a litre of cider . 🍺 -
This was good old fashioned Gallows Humour . We are 6 nil down and those that are left in the ground raised a smile by chanting this . Along with “your nothing special , we lose every week” Im afraid it could have been a hell of a lot worse . I don’t know what Webber thinks the fans should have done? A rousing rendition of OTBC ? Reality check required .

Proof that "the model" is sustainable!
Graham Paddons Beard replied to Badger's topic in Main Discussion - Norwich City
This a set of accounts doesn’t “prove” anything . Comparison between the first promotion year under this “model” and the most recent shows a significant loss and a profit . Can you compare ? Very difficult when you look at exceptional matters. The year of the loss , from memory , the club loaded up expenses including all of the promotion bonuses and the bond repayment . The year of the profit includes income from Lewis Godfrey and Buendia , where in previous years the sale of players in different seasons would not occur . The model is , I assume new . It apparently wasn’t in place when we signed Naismith and entered a long term liability contract (mitigated by Maddison’s sale btw - signed by the same regime) Its great that we made a profit . And not great that we are bottom of the league . -
£30m Covid loss
Graham Paddons Beard replied to dylanisabaddog's topic in Main Discussion - Norwich City
Quite possibly. Add into the debate that the numbers offered by BK8 were such that it made cancelling the Dafabet contract financially sensible , i would think BK8 very quickly became the main source of interest in comparison to other likely offers. -
£30m Covid loss
Graham Paddons Beard replied to dylanisabaddog's topic in Main Discussion - Norwich City
My guess is that The club followed a traditional line of DD when looking at this , and other , commercial relationships . As you would know Purple Due dulligence is mainly looking at numbers , finance , trading history , legal liabilities and contract security . What wasn’t checked , and still seemingly isn’t in many cases of M and A and other commercial relationships , was the social media platforms of BK8. With hindsight this seems crass , but at the time I can understand it . The other contentious area of course is the reaction . A lot of noise surrounded the issue that almost certainly by now would have died down. We ploughed a loan furrow in terms of morality which other clubs simply do not . Whether we should have done is another story altogether -
£30m Covid loss
Graham Paddons Beard replied to dylanisabaddog's topic in Main Discussion - Norwich City
In money terms 30m for covid and 3m for the difference between BK8 and Lotus. Whether that would have persuaded those put off by relegation clauses we’ll never know. -
