  1. I know some people will read this and think "Leave it out Pincer" but he''s now tormented the defences of 3 of the 5 so called top Premier League teams, and I believe if he carries on throughout the season the same way he''s started it, Mr Eriksson may just take him into consideration. I mean let''s face it we have not got a regular England player who’s effective or even comfortable playing out on the left so i''d love to see Hucks given a chance just to show what he can do. Is this feasible or am I just talking with my Norwich head on??????
  2. If he comes to Norwich i''ll raffle my season ticket. He will never come here in million years.......well not at this moment in his career anyway.
  3. I can''t see us getting James Beattie or Kevin Phillips, nice thought though Wiz.
  4. I''d go for Ashton. He''s been well schooled at Crewe and his all round game is better than Harewood''s including his finishing which is top notch. But to be fair Harewood isn''t a bad player either so i wouldn''t complain if we did get him, i''d rather have him than Scowcroft.
  5. Well, not much more I can say than what''s in the title. Does anyone else agree?
  6. Can someone explain why Gary Megson, Alex Ferguson, Mike Walker and Rodney Marsh should be on Norwich most hated list? Gary Megson - Was part of the most succesfull squad in NCFC history and was brought back as manager when the club were in the worst financial state i can remember. I never understood why he gets booed when he returns on match days. Mike Walker - the most successfull manager in NCFC history. Although he didn''t have a great second spell that''s no reason to hate the bloke. Rodney Marsh - Since Delia Smith came on Soccer Saturday rather merry last season he''s been a fan of the club and hopes we''ll stay up. Alex Ferguson - God knows what he has done to upset the club. Or is this a personal dislike of the bloke? I just find these strange choices. The others mentioned i can understand though.
  7. Personally I feel Keown would be an excellent signing for us, even if it would just be for a season or two. As i''ve stated before on this message board, one of my major concerns for next season is that our defence lacks any Premiership experience, the signing of Keown would certainly put an end to that issue. Also, i''ve read people saying he is slow, Keown is not slow. Keown was always very quick for a big defender, ok he may not be as quick as he used to be but i''m sure he''s still faster than Malky and Flem. It''s ok saying "we need someone younger", but good youngsters who would do a job in the Premiership are hard to come by and when somebody is available they: A) Tend to cost quite a bit of cash which I don''t think we''ll have. B) Will be sought after by a lot of other clubs who i''m sure will have more spending power than us. Keown would be relatively cheap, he''d be on a short term contract so wouldn''t be too much of a problem if we did get relagated and most importantly of all he would bring valuable experience to the defence. Personally I don''t think he''ll come here anyway, I think there''ll be a queue of Premiership clubs fighting for his signature, most i''m sure offering more attractive deals (MORE CASH) than us, but you never know, "The Rash" could yet be gracing Carrow Road next season.
  8. This has got to be a wind up, he''s slower than Malky. This one is a definate no from me.
  9. Come on guys, help us out on this or we''re gonna get relegated, and we can''t have that can we. http://www.playforyourclub.com/?56299
  10. I cannot believe i''m reading this thread. All I can say is get real.
  11. This was also mentioned in today''s News of the World
  12. Not sure how many of you saw Goals on Sunday on Sky Sports 1 this morning but Tord Grip was a guest on there and when Chris Kamara asked him "Is it now a straight race between Walker and Green for the 3rd choice goalkeeper spot?", and after probing him a little more Grip''s reply was "Well Leicester are no longer in the Premiership". Now read into that what you will but that statement tells me they''ve already made their mind up to take Greeno.
  13. I''m really glad someone had the foresight to bring this thread to everyone attention once again just to see how pathetic certain posters have been over the course of the season. However, to be fair to Wiz he wasn''t the only one to create such ridiculous threads (although he was responsible for most of them), if anyone can find some other idiotic posts eg ''Worth Out'', ''Get Rid of Worthy Now'' i''d like to see them, i think the people who created them should be named and shamed along with Wiz.
  14. We can''t stick with the same squad that got us promoted because: A) As Zipper stated Nigel will have to contend with this ridiculous transfer window next season and won''t be able to see who can cut it and who can''t until January. B) We''ll get murdered. One thing that I haven''t seen mentioned is that we''ve had a lucky season with regards to injuries, we haven''t really had any. If Hucks, Green, Holt, Flem had all been out for a few months I doubt very much we''d have been celebrating automatic promotion. Think what''ll happen next year if we don''t add to our squad and pick up some injuries, personally i''m trying not to. Sorry DIM, forgot about the reserve keeper, which I agree is also a must. So that''s 5 good players (inc reserve keeper) and I think we''ll be ok. I wouldn''t want to see too many more brought in as I believe it wouldn''t be good for team spirit. One thing we do have is a great team spirit and bringing in too many new faces at the same time may compromise that. The one thing that does worry me is who will be the leader of the dressing room now the Big Man has gone. He was a massive voice in the dressing room and he was also the leader when they all went out on town in the evenings. I can''t see anyone obvious to take over that mantle which to me is a big worry.
  15. I don''t agree with this common theory that Div 1 is all based on work rate and that you get more time on the ball in the Premiership. The only reason why players look like they get more time on the ball is because they have a better first touch and control of the ball and the passing is a lot quicker. When you put these factors together it''s going make it a lot more difficult for players to get near the ball and close down the opposition, this will be the first thing we''ll find out next season. If people think there''s more work rate in Div 1 than there is in the Premiership then they''re wrong. Premiership players work just as hard if not harder, they just have those extra qualities as i''ve previously mentioned that give them that extra time on the ball. I supposes my point is that there''s no way Mulryne will jump straight into the first team next season if he not even first choice this season. If he was good enough for the Premiership believe me he would have been playing every game this season. I also agree that he looks like he''s put on a bit of timber though.
  16. All the names mentioned above sound good and i''d love to see them hear but I go back to my original point that there''s probably a hundred names that could be thrown into the hat. The problem is we don''t know how much Nigel will have to spend, how much these players will cost, will they come hear, who else is looking at them etc. We''ll just have to wait and see, i''m looking forward to all the transfer rumours over the next few months and I think between now and the start of next season could be the busiest time this message board has known, even busier than the ''Huckerby is he staying or going saga. Good luck Peter.
  17. Actually I got my information from my mate''s sister''s husband''s first wife''s stepfather..........who works at Carrow Road.
  18. I''ve seen lots of threads posted recently stating who we''d like to see and who Mr Worthington should buy and I can understand it in the era of excitement, but let''s face it there are hundreds of players who, if we put some thought into it, would spring to mind. Some of the names already mentioned have bordered on ridiculous eg Ray Parlour and Tomas Radzinski (I can elaborate if you really want me to but I shouldn''t have to explain why they wont come here). My personal view is not who we should sign but which areas need strengthening: Centre Half - One thing that worries me is that, at present, no member of our regular back 5 has any Premiership experience (not sure about Edworthy), and although Malky and Flem have done an awsome job this year there''s not a lot of pace between the two and I fear they will get caught out big style in the Premiership (did you see the race between Malky and Ricardo Fuller on Saturday?) I think a centre half with Premiership experience and with more pace that Malky and Flem is a must. Right Back - Very short of cover there and I have my doubts whether Edworthy will cut it next season, I hope i''m wrong though because he''s done well for us this season. Midfielder - The permanent signing of Kevin Cooper would ease my concerns in this area but I just feel we''re slightly short of a creative midfielder in the Ian Crook mold, although there''s not too many players like him around. It will also be interesting to see which formation that Worthy decides to opt for next season. If he sticks to the formation he finsihed this season with I think we''d be ok (Hucks on the left/free role), but I have a feeling he''ll tighten up revert back to a rigid 4-4-2, then a creative midfielder is a must. Striker - Tricky to predict this, personally I think the strikers we have at present (Hucks, Leon, Sven) will do a job next year but with the loss of "The Big Man" and to bolster the squad I think we need another striker. Not easy to find someone who will guarantee you Premiership goals though. Also, it will be interesting so see how Jarvis developes over the next season because I truely believe he''s going to be a star. I really believe if we can get 4 good players to strengthen these areas we have a good chance of staying up next season.
  19. A very reliable source of mine has informed me that David Bentley is on his way to Norwich on a season long loan. Don''t know how many of you have seen him but he''s quality and I can''t beleive Wenger is letting him go.....but it''s not like he''s short of good players so maybe I can see the logic behind it.
  20. Zinedine Zidane Ronaldo Luis Figo David Beckham Ronaldhino Harry Carry Pete Peckerhead
  21. Although i''m not a great Mills fans I would have to admit that he would be an excellent signing for us, even though it seems extremely unlikely due to the afore mentioned reasons, ie WAGES. Edworthy has done very well for us this season but I fear he will get caught out in the Premiership, so whether it be Mills or someone else, a good right back must be on Mr Worthington''s shopping list.
  22. I sat here reading all the replies to this thread and thought "Is anyone actually going to ask the question, why on earth isn''t Fleming in the team?". Ulf, you stole my thunder. I''d like to know who actually picked this team because I don''t believe too much thought or investigation has gone into some of the selections. It looks like players have been chosen purely on reputation and how many goals they''ve scored. I''m really chuffed for Malky but if you canvassed the people who watch our team every week and asked, "Malky or Fleming?" I would have thought it would be about 80-20 in favour of Fleming. I just believe Malky is a bigger personality which is why he was picked. And, as most other people have already mentioned, how Hucks isn''t in the team is beyond me. Ok Andy Reid is a very good player and will move for to a Premiership club very soon but has he had a better season than Huckerby? I''d very much doubt it. Reid hasn''t spearheaded Forrest onto promotion, look what Hucks has done for us. I know this team doesn''t really mean anything but if they are going to do this every year I just wish the panel would do a little bit more investigation.
  23. Ah Fatboy Slimfast, I see you''ve changed you''re name AGAIN, do worry At Last, this fella does have a habit of Higgsaggerating the truth, but i was gutted when Svensson scored, i think i''ll have a quiet word in his ear next time I see him out. FBSF, tell everyone who, 2 seasons ago, you thought should be our dream midfield pairing of the future. Russell and Kenton if i''m not mistaken. What;''s happened to their careers? Now onto you Wiz, to be honest, you were the only definate one I can remember who kept slagging off Worthy which is why I mentioned your name and if you apologised then good on you and I apologise to you, but I was so sick at the time of people, not just yourself, constantly getting on his back when we were doing well, it was just nonsensical, now you don''t hear a peep from them. I also never mentioned you regarding the slagging off of Svensson, but where are these people who were doing this only a few weeks ago now? If Svensson was playing poorly over the course of a season then fair enough I can understand people having a pop at the guy but not after 2 games.
  24. I''m sure i recall someone who went by the the name of ''Worthy Out'' regularly putting threads on this message board, is it me or has he/she gone a little bit quite recently. If you''re still out there i''d like your views on current events at Carrow Road. I also think an apology to NW is in order. I also recall seeing a thread from 1st Wizard (correct me if i''m wrong) titled "Promotion under Worthy......Never", or words to that effect. Any comments on this subject now Wiz?????? It seems all the Worthy knockers earlier in the season, and the people who were slagging off Svensson a few weeks ago have all of a sudden gone quiet........WHAT A SURPRISE!!!!!!! Idiots!!!!!!!
