  1. Mein Gott Marty...is that really your missus?
  2. SOB, you know when your Mum went down to London, did she actually mean to raze it to the ground or was it an accident?
  3. MacKenzie probably doesn''t want to play against us...he has been under the Doc for long enough!
  4. We could look at quality loans as necessary until christmas and if still in a good position I expect us to strengthen with players capable of cutting it in the Prem should we go up. Hey, this is great by the way, all these pundits burning the midnight oil, just like election night, well done mods.
  5. OH! B*LL*CKS TO COTTERILL OR WHOEVER HE THINKS HE IS. ON THE BALL CITY!
  6. So what if we don''t sign anyone, why make desperate late buys (like Coventry have just done). The Club will look at loans once Prem Clubs look at their staff post deadline. I don''t like loans but they can be used as and when to fill gaps and in order to succeed, whatever your squad size you need a settled team so the injury situation hardly changes. It just makes me really appreciate the lads who are here and wanting to play for us and apart from cover we have''nt really sold anyone indispensible have we.
  7. Shows the value of a lad like Croft who actually wants to play for us....priceless.
  8. MacKenzie was rocking the boat and didn''t want to play for us, his head was probably all over the place and he is a year from contract end, what did you expect your Club to do, rely on an unhappy player and let him damage morale? Good business.
  9. Good money for an average player. MacKenzie did provide some stirring moments and some great celebrations though. If we weren''t going to offer him a new contract then I don''t blame him, however, Mackenzie owes Norwich a great deal: Plucked from obscurity into a championship winning team and earning a medal which will surely be the highlight of his playing trophies. Adulation from the off, his own song, the love of the supporters and player of the year for some groups. A season in the Prem, he will never play there again and might never have had the chance otherwise and then a season of support for personal trauma. Nigel Worthington has looked after him like a son. He has made Norwich a profit but he seems to be a peaks and troughs individual used to taking things for granted and in that respect Norwich owe him nothing....he owes Norwich and Nigel Worthington absolutely everything.
  10. Just clear this one up for me please SOB: Did your Mum pronounce her name bow da see ya or boo dick a?
  11. Livermore rhymes with ''what''s he for'' and that sounds like a cue for a song.
  12. Louis Jean will probably come back, find he can''t get in the team, spit his dummy and demand a transfer.
  13. There is so much pent up inactivity around as soon as someone does a deal there will be a flood. I still expect late business.
  14. Oh no! I have just realised I have been mis-reading this thread al along. I thought it said petite, but I can''t help it and somehow the bananas made sense.
  15. Worthington presides over a ship steaming along nicely so deserves to stay at the helm unmolested. This is not a thread for ridiculous questions about who supports or forgives him etc. But he has clearly had a bit of a makeover in more ways than one and these issues are tantalisingly unaddressed. Gone is the goofy socks and shorts look and in comes the suit. Gone is the footballing philosophy and in comes the passing game which we refreshingly stick to in adversity. Gone are the personal spats with players. McKenzie, a year from walking away for free is not for sale despite throwing his toys around and Nigel makes supportive comments about him. Gone are the bland post match interviews, he now gives insights into tactics and team talks. Gone are the fears of players in speaking their own mind, especially Huckerby who describes their friendly head to heads and players seem to be positively encouraged to say what they think. You can probably think of other examples. Why? Has Nigel re-invented himself, perhaps had a good look at the way he was coming across and undergone a re-think? If so he has done very well IMO. Is Nigel actually under real pressure to deliver and chastened by the effect. I do believe he is at his best when forced to manage on lesser resources. Have the Club told Nigel how it will be from now on and he is complying with the wishes of the Directors. If I owned the Club after last year I would have told him ''We are Norwich and we will pass the ball and respect the supporters.'' So many unanswered questions. It will be interesting to see how it pans out. PS I make no apology to the usual suspects who deride anyone for thinking outside the box and questioning why things are as they are, and yes, I am happy to enjoy the benefits I just wonder how they have all come about.
  16. What''s all this derision of people for jobs they did in the past? Haven''t we all done low grade jobs or even things we regret? Must we be judged by them for the rest of our lives. I am not ashamed to admit I was once a porn star, but I was young and needed the money.
  17. Well Rossi, Mrs. Rod has gone bananas at not receiving the same complementary/letcherous comments as Mrs. Marty. She blames the photographer of course and I had to get my own tea tonight!
  18. Blah, If the cap fits wear it, but hypocrite was not specifically aimed at you. Take Raplh for example, he complains about putting words in peoples mouths but his reaction to my first post was so off beam and full of supposition this had to be a hypocritical comment. Yes, we did win a string of home games at the end of last season but we hardly played good football as we are doing now, but if that is how you see it then, fine. I did also talk about horses for courses and have never advocated Hunter as a manager, didn''t you read that: Mr. Angry? I stand by my original point, Hunter is the catalyst and to me that is as clear as day.
  19. Yep, like him or not Worthington deserves respect for his strength of character.
  20. Some interesting responses to this post. I have not said and do not believe Hunter is the sole reason for the Norwich improvement, I believe he is the catalyst, the ingredient which most significantly improves the whole. How hard is that to understand? There is so much hypocracy in certain replies too. Talk about narrow minded line toeing.
  21. A fair point, Wizard, if aa little harshly put. I know loans are an option but failing to strengthen now would be to trust to luck in the face of opportunity. I bet the Board secretly are looking at a Christmas review.
  22. Thanks Marty, Mrs. Rod isn''t too happy with the picture because she says I got the background all wrong. Personally, I think re-wallpapering the bedroom just for a photo is a bit much and she wasn''t keen on the al fresco alternative as it''s been a bad year for midges so I didn''t have a lot of options. We don''t have any furry animals and the flash kept reflecting off the fish tank so pets were excluded.
