  1. wondered how long until the old penalty myth  raised its head again. im sure he has only conceded ONE penalty in the last 2 seasons, not bad at all esp when compraed to stefanovic who conceded about 4 in 10 games
  2. tell us more wiz though i for one hope this isnt true
  3. as does askou and virtually every other central defender in the country as well as most big forwards who do it backwards so to speak, the only diff is people are watching doc waiting for it whereas askou done exactly the same and no one mentioned a word although i guess he was forgiven as he let go and allowed their striker to have a free shot
  4. my main concern will be at the end of the season, when we reach in the play offs, win or lose, and then Celtic sack mowbray and come calling for their old captain
  5. Cureton 6 - late replacement for Martin so had little time to impress. His legs have gone and will find it hard to play full games now.just shows how some fans are so stuck in their views and dont watch what is really going on in the game as this is obviously a pre held view that will never change........ his legs have gone hahahahahahaha the funniest post i have read for a long time, Cody was that impressive was he????????????
  6. Houston, the slip that you refer to as being "fortunate not to get punished for" happened in the first min of the orient game and you can tell that you are not there live as it didnt cause any problems what so ever. He has been as near perfect as you can get in a football match since he was brought back in and as i said when he was first left out and everyone was waiting for him to leave that Doc will be a very important player for us this season
  7. for me it was just as much Dobie backing in as it was doc holding him and as an ex centre back you have to hold your ground and not be bullied into letting the striker have a clear shot on goal, a bit like askou when he was out muscled and allowed their striker to have a decent chance. Doc is by far the best CB we have and i for one am getting pretty fed up with everyone having a go when we have only conceded the penalty since hes been back in and that was askous faultis anyone else a bit concerned with the stat that askou didnt concede 1 foul yesterday? for me, esp in this league, i would expect my centre backs to concede some fouls
  8. if people are going to criticise Jamie for his miss from his quarter chance, im with wiz on this one, then why are they not criticising Cody for a very similar miss after his defelcted goal? for me jamie has proved in the last 2 league games that he deserves his chance first
  9. Houston trust me i wouldnt read your comments unless they appear in a thread like this one which was/is interesting to hear peoples thoughts on doc until you decide to hijack by throwing insults around at everyone, why cant you just stick to your opinion and leave the insult throwing to others, thought after all this time you would have grown up a bit (can remember you throwing insults at me about a year ago when patty got done for drink driving)and how does all that make me a happy clappy? if you mean i go to all home games and support all players regardless of whether i agree they should be playing or not makes me one then so be it. better than someone who sits behind his screen, never goes to a game and uses an pseudonym to hide behind
  10. getting back to the thread again rather than letting the whining American ruin yet another thread with his tiresome, petty and pointless rants.........I would keep Doc as he is the best CB we have and it annoys me how some people pick up on every little thing he does but you dont hear anything when Askou for instance gives away a cheap pen or hoofs the ball away giving away possession as he did on Saturday again with Culverhouse again going mad at him, or when Holt needlessly gives a fee kick away as he does so often and/or makes a sloppy passthe doc will be in the top 3 players again this season, providing Lambert keeps him that is
  11. he''s here, he''s there, he''s every fucking where, grant holt grant holt
  12. Scooby i have never said i dont like him just think he need to work on his distribution more but he will be an important player for us and think he could be too good for this league if he works on this. Also think him and doc is the best partnership we have and prob the best in the division and if we keep Doc we should be moving up fairly quickly
  13. Think the difference was that Drury went in along the floor and not raising his foot whereas their lad went in over the ball and raked drurys leg, to me the ref got it spot on like he did with most things last night, thought it was good that he was consistent in the majority of his decisions and i for one wouldnt mind him every week compared to the dross we have been getting
  14. Scooby i have seen every home game this season and for the last 20 odd years, and no i sit in the river end. Askou never looks comfortable with the ball at his feet and his first thought always looks like just lumping it up the field. Culverhouse was going mad at him last night for giving possession away and he does this regularly every game. Granted he wins most things in the air but to me and a few others he never looks comfortable with the ball at his feet so it amazes me that you think he is far more comfortable than the rest, the only one i would agree with is Nelson but even spillane is more comfortable with the ball at his feet. The Doc was by far the better player last night
  15. IAB, it didnt have Rudd beaten, Rudd made a wonderful save by tipping the shot onto the bar
  16. so Houston it was Doc and Doc only that brought us down two divisions was it? exactly how many times have you seen us play? if more than a guess a handful you would realise that last year he came in the top 3 in the Player of the season award and has been our most consistent performer the last few years and proved again tonight how vital he could be this season. Nelson, Spillane and Askou dont even come close esp askou who looks like he doesnt know what to do with the ball when he has it apart from lump it 40 yards up the pitch, found his performance tonight very strange
  17. I think a special mention must go to Declan tonight who looked assured in everything that he had to do, has a massive kick on him and, apologies if this has already been mentioned, but made a wonderful save in the first half when he tipped the ball onto the bar, considering how much the ball was swerving about to be able to get fingertips on it and divert it onto the bar was exceptionalthe question know though who plays saturday? Rudd or Forster?for me has to be Rudd, he is our future and after keeping two clean sheets as such, not counting the penalty, must be kept in the side
  18. what i hear you ask? the behaviour of our ''supporters'' who booed doc just before kick off when his name was read out and also those that booed cureton when he came on. how any of these people can call themselves supporters is beyond me and i hope the performance of doc and curetons goal will shut them all up come Saturday
  19. Have to agree with cityislife here, hoolahan just didnt do enough in the first half to warrant MOM, the goal obviously did him the power of good and he looked more threatening after he scored. He is still though for me the most irritating player we have as he clearly has all the skill in the world but he still hasnt learnt properly when to pass the ball and a few occassions today he gave the ball away sloppily, and by doing so created problems defensively, by holding on and doing too much compared to when he plays the ball on quickly he creates chances as shown again today, just hope Lambert can get this through as today was the best i have seen him for some time . MOM for me has to be Smith, thought he was awesome today
  20. yeah so do i though after Gunny im not sure if i would want him to - think he could be awesome with the youth players though
  21. The thing i cannot understand is why Lambert didnt change the formation back to 4 4 2 once hughes and lappin had gone off or at the very latest half time when he had seen for the last 20 mins of the first half that the formation wasnt working with the team on the pitch, mainly i think because the young players had hardly ever played the original formation and once changed to 4 4 2 i thought we looked more than capable againand for those that are wondering why Russell wasn''t playing or on the bench - he is injured
  22. He probably will rejoin Norwich as one of the matchday hosts for the corporate guests! - so he''ll be by manager next summer then?
