Anybody else sick of Cantwell's drama...
TeemuVanBasten replied to TeemuVanBasten's topic in Main Discussion - Norwich City
Completely agree with this. I'll breathe a deep sigh of relief when he signs somewhere else, and it allows Dean Smith to use the funds to bring in a player or two of his own. -
Anybody else sick of Cantwell's drama...

Ironically.... this season he's not been strong enough, not been quick enough, and hasn't looked worthy of the number 14 shirt. Although if he could momentarily reach "the top", so we can mug somebody for an 8 figure fee to help fund our necessary rebuild, that would be nice. -

Oh yeah he's shown so much 'drive' to make an impact on the pitch for us this season hasn't he, more like he's tried his hardest not to get injured to avoid jeopardising a January transfer. -

Anybody else sick of Cantwell's drama...
TeemuVanBasten replied to TeemuVanBasten's topic in Main Discussion - Norwich City
Why? He was out for one month. Players are constantly having much longer absences and taking no time at all getting back to speed, older players with injury histories as well. Sorenson had 2 whole minutes of football before coming in and doing well, Placheta had long covid and heart problems. Cantwell missed 3 or 4 weeks of football and has played 8 games this season + two full U23 games. There is absolutely no reason whatsoever why he should not have the required fitness levels. Nobody has succeeded in explaining why Cantwell shouldn't be match fit, it makes no sense. There was 3 weeks between Farke telling him to get himself fit in the U23's and Dean Smith putting him back in the side.... and that was 7 weeks ago. So it was about 10 weeks ago that Farke told Cantwell to work on his fitness. A pre-season is only 4 or 5 weeks, and Cantwell's 3 or 4 weeks out injured is shorter than the usual post-season break. You are trying to rationalise the completely unacceptable, without any attempt to explain your position or logic. Placheta had a much longer absence this season with actual heart problems and has got himself back in good shape. Todd Cantwell is paid a handsome salary to maintain his fitness levels, its like the number 1 priority of any professional athlete. -

Well he's not penned a contract has he. And think he's going to the top. -

I'd be surprised if that contract offer is on the table at this point, bridges burnt. -

Thinks he's too good for us. Nobody is bigger than the club, ask Farke. -

Webber won't be shy to confirm the drama once he's mugged Newcastle again. -

Yep, I was going to say, the only seriously wealthy people I know are "foreigners" and I wouldn't want them subjected to simple minded stereotypes based on their ethnic heritage. The -
What is it that you want from Norwich?
TeemuVanBasten replied to Danke bitte's topic in Main Discussion - Norwich City
Wouldn't mind XI players who give 100 percent for their shirt and their team mates, Cantwell f*cking off is a good start. -
If he does alright I definitely see him having a chip in his shoulder about how the locals didn't suck him off enough for being a bit talented, let's not forget that he's not even been raised a Norwich fan... he's an Arsenal fan.

Perhaps it is all paper talk, wouldn't surprise me at all if we got to the end of this window and Webber had to confirm that there were no firm offers for Todd Cantwell.

You seen how many daily covid cases there are Purple, and you are suggesting we gather in numbers for a protest? Sounds like a potential super spreader event to me. Besides, it took death threats and a brick through a restaurant to get the last one out and most have too much to lose by gaining a criminal record. -
Dean Smith?

In the summer, after relegation, we have no option but to just bend over and let them sodomise us? Even if no release clause in their contract? That's how a lot of you justify the Buendia sale, that he'd walked into Webbers office and demanded to leave. That's how Howson got his move too isn't it. So Rashica, Giannoulis, and Andy Om walk into Webbers office and say "we'll be off mate" and that is that? Because that's not how it worked for Harry Kane is it?

Mumba Wonder Goal
TeemuVanBasten replied to Thirsty Lizard's topic in Main Discussion - Norwich City
The club know how good Bali Mumba is, he'll be in our first team next season. That's why despite signing a 4 year deal in 2020.... we gave him an extension in 2021. -

Farke wasn't picking him either though. -
El Ghazi for me, let's sign somebody with proven pedigree for a change, like we did when we signed Huckerby.

She never had kids, so no, but she is in her mid-fifties. -
Good January signings
TeemuVanBasten replied to Robert N. LiM's topic in Main Discussion - Norwich City
You sure about this? Because he arrived halfway through a season where we finished 12th, and then played 30 games in a season where we finished 11th? Besides, our relegation was down to having a manager who doesn't know how to get strikers ticking, at every club he has ever been too he has never improved a striker, in fact usually the complete opposite. Latest one to really struggle under Hughton before scoring again regularly as soon as he is sacked... Lewis Grabban. Hughton got us relegated, not Howson. -

Pinto was hardly a disaster was he, just Naismith who tarnished that window.
