1. would do a good job for you , good little keeper  , i very much doubt he is part of the deal  hook  , carrol is injured  , back problems  , green is not fully fit if we do sign him  , and bywater is on loan at derby  , so i think it will be straight cash , if green agrees personal terms etc
2. getting off the fence , it would be just a rumour as pardew wants to keep zamora , this is teddys last year and we have only really 4 strikers on the books  , ashton will be the obvious choice to play with marlon up front  , with carlton cole and zamora on bench  , i think the deal for green is the straight 2 mill  , having said that we are loaning a few out at the moment  , maybe i dont know  , good luck anyway
3. cheers diz , im surprised you have not taken a look at mark noble on loan for you guys  , very good player he is would suit your style of play that used to be similar to ours  , unless worthy has changed it ... we was hot on halford for a while , but he would hardly get a game for us  which would be a shame for the fella  , eastwood would be good for you to  , get up in the prem  , with the help of these two then you can spend bigger again , always had a soft spot for you lot  , nice ground with good atmos  ,  good luck !!!
4. hello you canaries  , firstly good to see you above the tractor boys from suffolk  , you must be laughing !! anyway looks like we have made a bid for green  , seems pardew is buying english which is good  , so i have not seen much of greeno will he rival carrol for the no1 spot ? lets hope you spend the money wisely if we get him  , i suggest like ive read on other threads one here you take a look at greg halford too , good player  , good luck this year  , hope to see you lot in east london again  ..
5. hi lads , a hammer here , on greeno , i did hear a whisper we was after him a few mths back , we do have carrol but hes injured , bywater er ... no comment  , jimmy walker , not prem  , so we was on the look out , shame he got injured  i think hes a good goalkeeper , any way best of luck this year  , hope you bounce back up [B]
6.
Gotta agree with you claretnblue, you''ve got yourself a decent player, although as Alan Pardew has already said, you may have paid slightly too much, but hey I''m not complaining! Let''s just hope Worthy buys some quality playrs rather than the usual dross.
sandljo1 we have payed a tad over the top , but pardew thinks hes worth it  , good luck to you  , lets hope the money you get is spent wisely
7. dear oh dear oh huckerby  , and its walden not waldon , also im not an armchair fan , it takes no more than 45 mins not alot is it , saffron walden is in essex , essex is a west ham stronghold or didnt you know that ? so i take it all norwich support is in norfolk ? we have signed a gem in ashton , get over it
8. er hang on ? you was all crying the other day when you knew this transfer was imminent  , now you sound like you dont give a toss  ... sour grapes methinks  ... he will be great for us cos he will get the right service from right or left , cmon lads you got a fair price  you wasnt going to go up , well not automatic anyway , ps some one earlier said on here earlier norwich are as big as west ham ? .... is the beer strong in norfolk ? well anyway rant over , good luck
9. get him for 3 mill or under ? hes our top scorer !! 12 mill then you can have him
10. aj  , i reckon you could get him , get on the blower to mr worthington , we use the chap sparingly , but he never lets you down
11. This from today''s Independent: West Ham United were yesterday in talks with Barcelona over an audacious bid for striker Maxi Lopez. They hope to sign the 21-year-old Argentinian on a permanent transfer although he would not move until the summer. They are also pursuing Poland''s full-back Marcin Baszczynski who plays for Wisla Krakow and who is to arrive on trial this weekend. West Ham''s interest in the Argentinian has developed following their failure to land Red Star Belgrade''s Nikola Zigic and, more recently, their frustration at trying to buy Dean Ashton from Norwich City. A £7m bid has been rejected with Norwich intimating they may want as much as £8m. West Ham remain keen on signing the 22-year-old Back to topThis from today''s Independent: West Ham United were yesterday in talks with Barcelona over an audacious bid for striker Maxi Lopez. 12. a1 my thoughts on pardew , the promotion season and before  , i must be honest and say at various times during that season i was not impressed , then i thought , the chap had his hands tied by a bloke you must have heard of  .. our very own terence brown ...pards had little cash to work with  , but gave the youngsters a go and made some shrewd buys for little money  , as ive said on a prevoius thread , norwich in most ways remind me of us  , both can be big , or much bigger .. with the right backing .. im not totally convinced t brown will stump up the money for ashton but i do know pardew admires him greatly .. lets hope you boys to get a sniff of the playoffs , we did it the hard way  , but he did get us there twice in two years so he cant be that bad a manager ... ps its always nice beating them bleaters from suffolk (twice) and to see that sheepshanks boatrace !!!  all things going well a1 see you in the boyleyn next season !!!!
13. hello again a1 , spot on as usual with your views , just wish this whole thing could be sorted out  , its dragging on now  , its obvious pardes or polly as you call him reckons ashton will slot in our way of playing and i think he will  , this is teddys last season with us so what a replacement your man would be  , 22 and british .. just have to see if we can stump up the other mill  , hope the deal does go through  , and you get some worthy players in with the money to push you in to  the play offs !!
14. seems that norwich have priced him out of a move , pardew wont touch him at that price , 7 mill was the max , dear oh dear
15. West Ham fear £7m deal for Ashton will fail By Jason Burt Published: 17 January 2006 West Ham United were last night still waiting to hear whether they have succeeded in a £7m bid for Norwich City''s Dean Ashton. The Premiership club are also closing in on a loan deal for Barcelona''s 26-year-old midfielder, Gabri. West Ham are understood to have submitted several offers for Ashton, who has been courted by a host of Premiership clubs but is keen to move to Upton Park. It is now believed that West Ham have met Norwich''s valuation of the striker, but that the club''s board may be reluctant to sell. West Ham fear that, despite the size of their bid, it may be a dead deal and are pursuing other options as they try to increase their number of strikers. West Ham have made no secret of their admiration of Ashton, but felt that Norwich wanted too much money, especially for a 22-year-old player who, despite his success since his £3m move from Crewe Alexandra  what you guys think ?
16. thanks for your views a1 , interesting read , yes i agree with what you said and yes owen was a handful!! , i dont reckon we will get ashton either .. main reason terence brown !!! but i would love to see him at up , wish you boys the best for the rest of the season .. " lets be having you " !! your lot is always welcome in the east end
17. dont sign that mellor !! he was with us for a while  , overweight  , lazy , and not interested , stay well clear
18.
West Ham would never be able to afford Dean Ashton, or something like that. This was the sporting headline in my EDP at breakfast today. Worthy, that is music to my old ears mate. If we had lost Asht...
hi there , west ham supporter here , dont you think if we offered say 6 mill for ashton it would test worthingtons and norwich"s resolve ? is he that good , havent seen him week in week out like you lads , btw shame you came down , i used to like my away days to carrow road as i live in saffron walden in essex not far to travel and a ground with atmos , hope you do well this coming season and bounce back up , its a hard lge tho , ive always had a soft spot for norwich , ps beat them suffolk **** too good luck we hope to see you lot shortly , pps i used to have a crush on delia !! in her early days mind you
