1.
I''m with you breaker - my previous post began by saying that I couldn''t fault anything you''d said apart from the piece I''d highlighted. The remainder of your original post is too valid to have holes picked in it, as is your follow up. You''ve mentioned one of my particular bugbears - the lack of passion shown in too many games this season. It makes me angry to see such apparent lack of effort from this City side. During last seasons adversity you could see 99% of the team busting a gut to try and get that elusive away win - even Francis managed it before his injury. You see the same passion from Wigan and West Brom week in and week out on MOTD, yet it rarely rears its'' head at Carrow Road. Is it because the players are sulking about being on lower wages? I don''t know. It seems as if any benefit gained from the sports pschologist has evaporated with the new year champagne bubbles. As for USAcanary, I understand irony to be in short supply over the pond. I thought it was obvious from the way I put it that I lent little substance to the words of professional footballers. That was my point. It''s been suggested on this forum that Jonson only left because he thought the club didn''t want him - far more likely, surely, that he left because he had a better offer from closer to home? That was why I drew the comparison with Dean - eager to help us at the start of the season, couldn''t wait to get back in the Prem come January. Money talks to players aswell as to Boardrooms, a fact I don''t need pointing out to me.
When we won the championship West ham were not percieved the "bigger club" Now two years on they are the big boys and we are the minnows who can "only" attract 25,000 every week. The truth is the players see no future. They see clueless management. I believe that Dean Ashton signed his contract extension in good faith. After seeing how Worthy has sold the better players, wasted money bringing in poor replacements, combined with mind numbing tactics, who can blame hime for changing his mind. I actually honestly think wages were a smaller part of the equation than most KTF`s would have us believe. Deano saw a club going backwards, he want to go forwards, he wants quality service so he can try and force his way into the England squad for the world cup. I think most people are more worried about Worthy wasting the money than they are about Ashton going. This is a great oppotunity to rebuild before the parashute payments fizzle out so we can have a solid crack next year at promotion. BTW Its Ironic that I was born within spitting distance of  "carra rud" , any other incorrect assumptions?
2. I am against paying that amount of money for a striker. We had a great striker yet could not beat very poor sides. The problem stems from our defence shipping too many goals and a poor midfield not supplying enough chances. I have no problem in selling green for 2-3 million if it buys us 2-3 young players to fill the gaps. Goalkeeper is a very overrated position IMHO. (last time I checked we had 4!) The problem is that myself and a lot of people do not trust Worthy to spend the money on the right players. Worthy Out.
3.

LOL Most of the great signings you quoted could not get away from the club fast enough at the first oppotunity. Its only a matter of time before Safri wants away. What does that say about the management when we have so many good players yet play so poorly.
Certainly says plenty about the players !   in my book   , when you get employed  by a club  , you should bleeding well EARN  the fantastic wage  that only  us " lesser mortals " can dream about  !!     ..... My main criticism of Nigel  is that he`s too much of a gentleman  , he should have tore into  the dressing  room after the Watford match , and  kicked ass , as you yanks say !
Agree, looks like the players have all the power. BTW I was born within spitting distance of "carra rud"
4.
Breaker, whilst you may be correct in a lot of your post (ie I agree with it!), I feel the following accusation has been trotted out too often... "Whilst it is true that NW has had to contend with many injuries it is also true that he started the season with the smallest squad in years with a particular weakness in central and right midfield - surely he must take some responsibility for shipping out 5/6 players, stating we needed to replace these AND add a further 5/6 yet bringing in only 5, two of whom were right backs." Who says Worthy wasn''t desperately trying to get the extra bodies in - and what was standing in his way? He''s generally very straightforward in what he says, not mincing his words. Only Crowe & Edworthy were shown the door, with an offer accepted for Jonson who''d previously said he wanted to stay (as did Deano, players eh?). For whatever reason, Worthy wasn''t able to bring in the players he wanted to - we do know that he was told that funds had to be raised to finance purchases, with only Jonson bringing in a fee prior to Francis''s late ship-jumping manouvere. Whose was the fault that only a small amount was spent in August? With apparently limited options he strengthened as best he could - Hughes, Marney and Thorne were generally seen as OK, prior to seeing how they''d fit in. The two right backs were bigger gambles, although Louis-Jean had played top-flight for Forest (and not just the year they came down!) and Colin was touted as a quality prospect by the Dutch papers. Now some major money should be available, let''s see how we do - the big buys of Huckerby & Ashton were quality pieces of business and Jonson could have really shone this season (players are allowed to say no to transfers). I honestly believe that Worthy''s hands were tied in August, he''s just not the sort to whinge in public about it. If he fails this week he''ll have virtually no excuse - barring the board refusing to release the dosh! If that happens I''d expect him to walk due to lack of support from above.
To use the argument that certain players said they "wanted to stay" in public as the reality is laughable. What do you expect players to say "I like cashing the cheque but if I get a decent offer I will leave as quickly as possible because the manager is clueless"
5. LOL Most of the great signings you quoted could not get away from the club fast enough at the first oppotunity. Its only a matter of time before Safri wants away. What does that say about the management when we have so many good players yet play so poorly.
6. I personally hope we spend very little of the money now. It will make us far more attractive to a manager coming in when Worthy gets the sack. If the board are in any doubts about Worthy they should keep hold of the money. I am really worried about us spending 3.5 million on someone like Jerome. We could end up blowing the whole wad and getting little in return. If he is so great WHY arn`t prem clubs snapping him up? After going backwards we need a new man to take us forwards. Worthy OUT.
7. On the last Canary call Neil Adams was asked if he thought the current side is better than the one we had when we won the championship. Even he had to admit it we are not anywhere as good as that team. The signings have made us a worse team. Yet we still get "look how far we have come" Or the KTF`s saying everything is OK. Maybe they are looking at a different club I am looking at. So this is progress? I would hate to see us going backwards.
8.

Blame it on the boogie!
"LOS in sense of humour shock!" Seriously, Squit, your posts over the weekend have been well argued. This is the best so far though![:D] I don''t blame anyone except, perhaps, Pardew. He was the only one daft enough to pay over £7 million! If it weren''t for that we''d be left with an unhappy Ashton and no transfer kitty! We should probably thank him.
I think you two should get married. The answer is simple. The club said they did not have to sell so it was down to Dean wanting to leave. If he was happy with the direction of the club and felt we had a good chance to make the playoffs he would have at least waited till the end of the season. The truth is he could see the light that the club is being badly managed with terrible signings and horrible hoofing tactics. Yes, lets all laugh and joke while our best players are being sold. Solid argument.
9. Again I ask are you close to anyone at the football club? Simple question as you constantly defend everything they do and attack anyone who doesn`t agree with the current NCFC managment. You are the only person on this entire board who sees no problems with the current management. A few others want Worthy to stay, fair enough. I actually understand their viewpoint and respect it, but they don`t defend every single thing he and the club does. They also don`t spend all their time attacking others. Virtually all your posts are directed at attacking Norwich supporters What about some opinions on the club and the way its being run? At least I and others offer suggestions and ideas on how we can improve the situation.
10. From Canaries world today Nigel Worthington told First News: "We''re always committed to trying to keep our best players at the Club, but the size of today''s bid coupled with Dean''s desire to make the move happen meant that after talking it through with the Board and the lad himself we''ve decided to accept this offer. The club has said numerous times it did not need to sell Ashton. Neil Adams has said/hinted many times on the radio that if Dean wants to go then they will sell. The fact is Dean could see the plain truth. We are ship with no captain, no direction, no plan. He could see from the inside that the club is heading for trouble. A list of bad transfer signings, lack of tactics to supply him with the chances he needs. Who can blame him, Who can blame any player who want to come here. We currently play terrible hoofing football We need a new manager with new ideas plus we could give him the cash from the sale to rebuild the side.
11. Actually thats a great point. Think of the great Scots who have played for the club. Ted McDougal, Bryan Gunn, Fleck, Hollt and Malky during the championship season. Also who scored the goal in the Milk cup final? (OK, at least Asa Hartford hit the shot!) All our recent successes have been achieved with at least one great Scot in the side. Maybe we need another fire breathing scot who can kick people like Jarret and Etuhu up the backside. We need some of that fire and passion back.
12. Reading this thread leaves me pretty convinced that Squit/Dicky works for Norwich City Football Club in some capacity OR is at the least very close to somebody who does.. Notice he calls him "Ade". That smells of being close/familiar to the Watford manager. I think its only fair that if a "confict of interest" exists its disclosed. Acting like just a regular fan when this is not the case is in my opinion extremely dishonest.
13. Of course he is going to say that. When they win its all down to his skill and leadership and hard work on the training ground, when they lose its just bad luck. I don`t know why he doesn`t tape 3 post match comments (win, lose or draw) Its the same dross every time. Now every club knows we have cash to spend and little time to spend it they will be ripping us off. I actually vote in favor of NOT spending most of the cash in the transfer window. A quality manager may be tempted to jump ship if given money to spend. Realistically this would be a great oppotunity to bring some of the young talent through. Give them some experience. Lets see how good they are with a run in the teams, not just 15 mins here and there. Of course this won`t happen.
14. I think Squit/Dicky is very close to the club in some way. This deal has been done and dusted for a long time. I think we should use the money to show Worthy the door.
15. You can say a lot of things about about the Wiz but he called this one perfectly. More lies from Worthy and the board?
16. I am Totally disgusted. Mind you Stevie Wonder could have seen this one coming. Why don`t they just say "we are leaving him out because we are selling him" Its disgusting, they are treating the fans like idiots. Remember when they came to the fans "cap in hand" for the share issue. Now they repay this with spin and lies. So much for Worthy saying his players should look up the word "honesty" in the dictionary. I think the whole club does not know what the word means.
17. I must admit that selling JB for 500K+ would make an unusual change. For once we would be laughing at a club for paying too much for an overratted player instead of other clubs laughing at us for overpaying.
18. I have to agree, i am a paying subscriber and the "highlights" are pretty pathetic. WHY can`t we have at least 15-30 mins of match footage for those who cannot attend. A lot more people would subscribe if they offered better value
19.
It seems that the WO campaign lacks any real conviction or passion, so far several ''calls to arms'' re boycots of games and the clubs merchandise have come to nothing. The hard core five or six WO posters on this board must be realising that thier mob is becomming a crowd.
Is this the best the KTF brigade can come up wth? They cannot defend the manager or the results so they in turn attack the fans. The vast majority of Norwich fans want Worthy to step down, its that simple. The best managers take average players and make them better. I am begining to think Worthy takes good players and makes them average. I am frankly frightend at the thought of selling Ashton and Green (and maybe Hucks) and giving the money to Worthy to spend.  As for thr Rossi Jarvis thing, who could blame him for going elsewhere. Him and Ryan are not getting a fair shake, they could warm the bench in the prem rather than warm it in the championship. At least they would get more exposure to the media and to better management and training.
20. Call me "skeptical" but what is it with all these people with 1 or 2 posts having a go at the vast majority who want worthy out. Then we have people agreeing who have 1 post replying? How easy is it to create as many "ghost" accounts as you want?
21. Or do I feel like Worthy is not exactly being honest with the fans? Here is one example (I have others) On the front page we have the excellent Safri ''will have to fight for his place'' story by Rick Waghorn Now Worthys official line is that Safri missed the trip to Coventry because he was "Fatigued" Well thats funny........ because If you go to the canariesworld website and look at the TV news Video titled "Worthy Deals in Loan Transfer market Again" dated thurs 24/11 you will see a video of Safri doing laps around the training ground on his own? Now we can asume that the video was shot either Wednesday or Thursday. If he was so  "Fatigued" why was he doing laps? hmmmmmmm Obviously Rick Waghorn does not seem to believe the official line either because he wrote "Safri missed the trip to his old club, Coventry, with what was officially described as “fatigue”." Why don`t they just tell us the truth. Maybe Mr Worthington needs to follow his own advice and look up the word honesty in the dictionary
22. its just strange why they would not even give you an idea of its length. Would not suprise me if they added some clauses at the time that would make them look silly now. (such as payoffs if sacked ect.) When someone is cagey about something I think you can assume they have something to hide. What is the point of these "open meetings" when they board cannot answer a simple question about the length of an employee contract. Its funny if they sell a player they often talk about when he is out of contract ect ect to make the position sound more reasonable.
