1. Bentley (right midfield) and Charlton (left back) both selected in a 4-4-2 formation. Svenson also chosen as first reserve striker behind Philips and Henry. Well done lads. Now for next week I''d like to see Green selected for a heroic display against Chelsea with Svenson promoted to the starting eleven for snatching the winning goal for City. Good luck lads. OTBC.
2. Dodgy Rumours again! All part of the fun. City have offered Celtic 300,000 pounds for Junhinho, but O''Neil prefers a swap for McVeigh. We also have !.3 million reserved for Robbie Blake. Now if Junhinho still has it, he would prove a wonderful talisman.  OTBC.
3. ........on Fox Sports World (pay per view) in the USA. Now in Freddie Lakers Skytrain days..............!!!!!!!! City should get a little TV money out of it though. OTBC
4. "The comeback kings of the Barclays Premiership again proved that they have the stomach for the relegation dogfight............For the eighth time this season - a record not matched any team in the top flight - Nigel Worthington''s battlers came from behind to salvage something from a match......." Sporting Life match report. The facts Based on first half performances City are 20th and dead last with only 8 points from 17 matches, trailing Southampton in 19th place by 7 points. Based on second half performances City are now up to 6th with 28 points from 17 matches - trailing Manchester United in 5th spot and leaders Chelsea on 37 points. Amazing stuff. We really need J H Phillips of Deopham of blessed memory to interpret these stats and predict the season''s outcome! OTBC.
5. I agree Ollie. But for the sake of accuracy I think it went.....  "Oh yess!!! Oh yessss!!! It''s in the roof of the net!!!" Roy Waller with controlled ecstasy on Svenson''s winner. First class Roy - just like City''s performance. OTBC.
6. That captain of Yugoslavia - Drazen Muzinic. Full stop. OTBC.
7. After 45 years it still has to be Kevin Keelan. Simply the best. OTBC.
8.                    CARROW ROAD PRESS RELEASE City reserve Thomas Helveg will captain his native Denmark against England in a friendly international scheduled for next August 17. Both countries will be utilising the match as a warm up for the final set of World Cup qualifiers. Helveg, who was the outstanding defender at Euro 2004, said that he was sad that no City players had been selected for England, but was confident that Edworthy ......................He went on to say that he looked forward to matching wits with counterpart new England captain Rio Ferdinand, and expressed confidence in his ability to deal adequately with marking Michael Owen''s successor Jermaine Defoe.  Well rested fellow City reserves Jonsonn  and Svenson(Sweden), Saffri (Morocco), Doherty (Republic of Ireland), McVeigh and Mulryne (Nortern Ireland), Ward (Wales) and Gallagher (Scotland)will also be in action for their countries on Wednesday. Nigel Worthington told this reporter that this is all part of his strategic approach to squad management  in the ********* league as his first teamers - not being involved in internationals would be much fresher for Saturday than the nine or so City fringe players returning from international duty. Clever lad I am - not even the real Arsene has latched on to this approach yet, he told this reporter. --------------------------------------------------------------------------  This was a dream I was  having just a while ago when my wife woke me up saying that I was groaning loudly. So I get, so I tell you!!!!!! A Merry Xmas to all our posters. We''ll survive in the New Year - somehow!!!!!!!! I feel it in my bones. OTBC
9. Camberwick. We could go a step further and pair Henchoz up front with Doherty!!!!!!!!!!! What do you think? Seriously, I agree about David Johnson as apart from anything else I understand that he has an attitude problem - so noooooooooooooooooooo!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! OTBC
10. Garth Crooks - A Gary Pallister - H Lee Dixon - D Gavin Peacock - H If we add in Lawrenson (A), then that means that the BBC experts are split down the middle in their views. However, the Score Seven league table (% correct to date)shows: Pallister - 55% (go there Gary!) Dixon - 50% Peacock - 49% Crooks - 34% BBC CONCLUSION................. CITY TO SHADE IT!!!!!!!!!!!!! OTBC
11.
BBB''z: Let''s hope so... and I hear that Lennox is coming in for an Inspirational pre match pep talk this week Although, some of our "secret weapons" have been playing English football for a bit lo...
Normann - sorry to keep you in suspense!  Stop wondering! My avatar was lifted from the BBC Sports website - around about the time we achieved automatic promotion last season, BBC decorated a few news stories with said stuffed Canary. I think he''s quite attractive actually- alhough I hope the stuffing is not giving any hostage to fortune this season. As for Lennox, I told you before it was a Jamaica replica shirt you saw him in - not a City shirt!!!!!! Check it out, Norm. The only World Heavyweight Champ to grace our fine city as far as I remember was Muhammed Ali. As for being stressed out.................what''s the odds on Holt starting on Saturday, as Helveg will be judged not yet up to speed and needing to be taken down a further peg or two. It''s the ''northern'' way you know can''t have too many soft southerners or  dodgy foreigners around until they experience a bit of the hard life. OTBC.
12. Arsene Wenger said in an interview the other day that he has brought in a lot of foreign players (don''t we know that!) and he has learnt that it takes them 6 months to adapt to English football. That''s why they decided to bring in Jose Antonio Reyes during last season - so that he would be ready and fully functional for this season. Nigel ''the next Arsene'' Worthington got this pearl of wisdom from the real Arsene as part of the Bentley transfer deal. So Helveg, Jonsonn and Saffri  you cannot get a regular place in the first team until the end of January at least. No matter how good you are you will have to put up with occasional outings in positions and roles you are not used to as part of the learning process. Mystery solved. You are Worthy''s secret weapons which he will unleash on an unsuspecting Premiership in February. QED.               OTBC.
13. Good idea!!!!!!! We need the luck. Going to get tiring though shipping out every Friday!!!!! OTBC.
14. Butt the big question is how did the little feller do it? OTBC.
15.
I''m sorry, AJ, but why ''move over Bentley''? In my opinion he worked very hard for us on Saturday, especially defensively, and he showed, above all, the attitude and commitment to the cause that I wou...
Problem is Susie b - he''s shortchanged us enough already for the season by not working hard and displaying dubious commitment and attitude. He''s in the last chance saloon. One more slip & Worthy should send him back to Arsene with a request for a refund on the kindergarten costs. Hope you have woken up now Master Bentley. Are you really ''a good lad''  or a ''big time Charley''? Not my words. Let''s see. Good luck lad. OTBC.
16.
OK. Time to come clean and time for a tragic admission . I am a qualified chartered accountant.... there I''ve said it. My work (exciting as it is) involves auditing FTSE100 companies and their finan...
Camberwick. I see that tou are a self-confessed qualified chartered accountant. Are there be any unqualified chartered accountants around? If so Bury may be able to afford one of those! Don''t take offence. I jest. Good marketing though!  All together now, after three. 1 2 3 - OTBC.
17. Why does a team like Republic of Ireland who are almost as good as England have him as a fixture in their squad?? I think he suffered a form dip after a serious injury -ask your mate about that. All players have form dips - ask Posh''s husband. C''mon, at least give the lad a chance in central defence before slagging him off. Call in Forbes and Stringer if necessary to put him on track. I presume you would have got rid of Iwan soon after he came as well.  OTBC.
18. Well played indeed sir. Rest in peace. May the strains of ''On the Ball City'' echo for you for ever in your place of rest. OTBC.
19. Agree 100% Notts. See my post "By their words ye shall know them" Let''s have some straight thinking and mental toughness. Nice guys finish last - England cricket and rugby have learnt the hard way. Delia, get that team sports psychologist to wake up those loose thinkers talkers in the Board and Admin!!!!!!! Ambition with prudence please. not the converse!!!!!!!! OTBC
20. How can he look like a big waste of money if he hasn''t had a first team game in central defence yet. He''s a regular in the Republic of Ireland squad with several starts - not bad on your CV. Let''s wait for Worthy to give him a chance (after Shackell please) before deciding. I think the time for Primus has passed- we don''t need him and Charlton. Rather have someone more naturally gifted and younger if either Doherty or Shackell do not prove up to scratch. OTBC.
21. AJ. Do you know if Doriva likes pies. Don''t suppose so coming from Brazil - but those guys do have huge appetites, so maybe there''s hope. You see ''Dodgy Rumours'' says that we''ll be taking him from Middlesborough for $3m in January (also that ManU are looking to sign Greeno again). Don''t shoot the messenger! OTBC
22. Normann. I was talking with Lennox the other day at Carrow Road, and he said that these two guys (and some others at the club) needed a dose of positive thinking, self confidence and mental toughness (just like those Aussie cricketers) washed down with ice-cold striking. Serious business that mental toughness. OTBC.
23. Normann. I hope that when Lennox does come that they do not seat him in front of Gazza et al - cause when he stands up they won''t be able to see anything even standing up!! The Reggae Boyz wear yellow, green and black. Maybe the mouthguard guy saw him in a Jamaica shirt before his last fight. Nice to have him on board though. Maybe he''d like to invest?? Delia are you listening ???????????? OTBC.
24. Fillet. I think that if they''re good enough they won''t get the ''treatment''. Why are we giving Bentley work experience for Arsenal''s benefit and yet won''t give our lads a chance????? [Dale Gordon and Ruel Fox must be thankful they didn''t have to grow up under Worthy!]. It''s a hard world, the Premiership. No room for sentiment. Look at the rate of player turnover at e.g Bolton, Portsmouth, Birmingham etc. If Worthy''s not sure about Shackell and Jarvis, then loan them out -both to find out and further their education in the school of hard knocks. If they''re good enough, then treat them like gold and give them a chance.  OTBC
25. The Pink''un online reports that at Wednesday''s working breakfast at Carrow Road : [a] Neil Doncaster said ''If we do come down we need to be........'' Now if he had said '' If we do go down we need to be............'' [b] Roger Munby said ''The bottom line is prudence with ambition''. Now if he had said '' The bottom line is ambition with prudence''. Doesn''t sound like the right psychological mindsets to me. These verbal signals are all important. Come on guys, get it right!!! OTBC.
