  1. I personally think A block should unite and stand, minus the whinging old git. I can see how they could sling out standees in A block but not elsewhere in the ground. Think they''d be opening a massive can of worms if they carried this threat out.
  2. I''m not suggesting he shouldn''t have left. Just a little curious as to why is fans hounded him, yet delia can do no wrong.
  3. To make my stand point clear, I, for the first time believe now that the end should be nigh for the current owners. The point I''d like to make though, is, how did Robert Chase, the most successful owner in our history, manage to get himself into a position to be hounded out to the point where we had police horses et al on Carrow Road to control some really rather volatile protests, yet delia, despite achieving very little comparatively manages to fly under the radar? I''m not suggesting a return to those days at all, rather I''m just curious as to how we became so accepting of overall failure. It seems to me that delia is untouchable. Is that not a bad thing? Why shouldn''t she be accountable? Sad as it maybe, and it is sad, owners like delia and Michael are just not where modern day football is at, and I can''t help but feel that if we don''t join the bandwagon of wealthy investor(s), owner(s) we''ll slowly fade away, season by season into a nothing club.
  4. Bring back the yellow nets with a proper stanchion, that''ll help the atmosphere, we used to know how to score in those!!!
  5. Makes me chuckle how you can be a young player with just a handful of appearances for a premiership club (some premiership clubs) and get a full England cap, but in the championship you can only get as high as the U21''s. I wonder if Maddison was a spurs player, for example, and had half a dozen sub appearances behind him, and had performed no better or no worse than he has for us this season, whether or not he''d be in the senior squad. We''ll never know of course, but I suspect he might. Either way, congratulations madders. Just don''t leave us too soon to be a premiership bench warmer. If your agent suggests it''s, tell him to do one or at least go and see Webber for a rise
  6. Well I saw a guy taken out and presumably given a telling off for raising his voice in block A of the Barclay last night by one of the "big I am" type FPO stewards. (P.S. not all of the stewards are like that I know.)
  7. I remember this well. Most epic goalmouth scramble ever? I reckon it so. It''s a pity one of you super talented computer boffins can''t slow that footage down a little bit.
  8. Just a thought. A friend of mine made a valid point about why Jacob might want the move. He and Josh are competing for a place with one another at the moment. It looks unlikely they''d both be likely to start games together so Jacob may feel it''s best for him to take this opportunity not only to progress himself. It also free his space up so that Josh can in theory push on hadn''t thought about that. It it''s a fair point I think.
  9. Sounds like I''m on my own then cos I actually really like the green one. It''s got a retro look about it (as in all keepers used to wear a plain green top once upon a time). I like all of the new kit actually. Thumbs up
  10. I''m happy to leave the whys and the wherefore to Farke and Webber, all I want to see is young Gunny going for a header on that crossbar. That''ll do it for me, easily pleased I am!
  11. Seriously. I''m failing to understand how this little piece of humour managed to offend. It was just a light hearted reference to a great comedy show, a new German manager and a player whose inclusion on the the team sheet is always a hot topic for debate. It made me chuckle Rudolph and I''m not a Martin or a German hater. It was just a hunourous quip!
  12. I agree with baldyboy and others making similar comments. Jonny Howson may not always stand out in games (unless he''s volleying in a worldy a la forest), but the team is. Dry significantly weaker in many ways when he isn''t playing. Howson was missing for the vast majority of our horrific winless run of memory serves me correctly. Coincidence? Maybe, possibly, but I don''t think it was.
  13. I agree west coast. I actually respect the mans honesty. It''s not his fault our board are ditherers
  14. I said on another thread a few days back. I genuinely believe that we need shot of any defender/goalkeeper that''s made a senior appearance this season in my opinion. Yes I take the point of midfielders not helping etc blah blah BUT, taking the midfields "efforts" out of it for a minute, our defence are making standalone errors both as a unit and as individuals that are unforgivable. Add to that their mindset and confidence that has clearly been obliterated and I honestly believe the only answer is to be shot if them all, even those that we try to justify by convincing ourselves they''d be better if only they had better around them. Cobblers! Thanks and good luck for the future Mr Martin and colleagues.
  15. Very true king, however there are mistakes being made on repeat in pretty much every match that are unforgivable and can only lead, in my view, to the conclusion that they are simply not good enough. They''re not fit for purpose.
  16. I think players like pinto and klose are players that fans are desperate to see do well for one reason or another. We seem to love a foreigner with a bit of character. I was desperate for klose to become a city legend, still am, but sadly it''s not going to be and I think there comes a time where you have to leave sentiment to one side and admit defeat. That time is now (probably some time ago on actual fact). All senior goalkeepers and defenders need to go.
  17. There isn''t one. I just watched yesterday''s goals for the first time and it was like Groundhog Day. We''ve been so soft at the back for so long that I now find that instead of trying to justify keeping some defenders with reasons such as "he''s alright when he''s got someone decent along side him", I now feel like I would like to see the back of all those that have played in our defence in whatever capacity in however many games. Without exception I honestly believe we are that horrific at defending that only a complete cull would enable us to be rid of any mental baggage that is having an impact. Yesterday''s goals were that bad it would have been funny if it wasn''t my team and if I hadn''t seen that shambles week in week out for however many years. Same mistakes, no evidence of learning from them I''m afraid.
  18. Like mickdundee said, being a screamer and shouter isn''t a necessity for a captain. I would say, essential qualities are consistency, ability, level headed-ness, commitment and the respect of his team mates. I think howson has all of those, though respect of his team mates is an assumption of course as us fans could never be sure of that one.
  19. For me it should be to make Jonny Howson captain. Comes across as a very level headed lad with superb ability and consistency. Great to hear hiis comment re Jacob Murphy too.
  20. To be fair, it does say that the new head coach and sporting director will work together to find the right players. Also, I don''t think total control is a good thing. A new structure like this should, in theory allow for a long term football culture to develop instead of having to endure upheaval every time a manager moves on. That''s what we all want isn''t it? To be able to build and progress rather than knocking down to the foundations every 18 months?
  21. And for what it''s worth I agree with dave. Murphy wouldve been my choice to come off. He seems to offer zero defensively (yes I know, much like the rest of the team), which is a luxury for a team with 10. (Just my opinion)
  22. I actually think the crowds response to that substitution was less about the detail of the substitution and more about the fans making sure they let the board know that they weren''t about to accept Irvine as a possible replacement for Neil. I don''t think it was about tactical ignorance, it was just the first opportunity for the crowd to unleash some pent up emotion after a bonkers 24 hours!
  23. I think there is a very credible argument for an amicable, short term deal with Roy Hodgson certainly. If we could get him in some kind of consultative role whereby he can help and advise on what is clearly going to be a huge task in restructuring. If he could maybe caretaker boss us until, with his help we find a suitable replacement, eliminating the need to rush into a flawed appointment. Or maybe even be a part of the longer term future if a DoF is a route that would work for all parties. I don''t know but I really don''t understand why people are so anti him.
