  1. I recon that Howson may start instead of Hoolahan as with Brady and Redmond on the flanks he may want a bit more strength in the middle, and with all the crosses coming in having Howson arrive in the box getting knock downs could work well for us.
  2. I recon he''ll be a similar player to adebayor (had a look on fm for stats). Hopefully that''s the world beater ade and not the fill my wallet ade. But I''m hopefull that it will work out and if we keep playing like the first 3 games he could get 15 goals +
  3. I don''t see AN using Brady, Redmond and Wes together in the midfield as he seems to like 3 big bodies in there and I think that it may be vital to our season to. I see Wes dropping out and having howson or dorrans in the hole and having wes on bench to bring on for Brady if the situation calls. Would also make sense as we have sadly got to start to move on from the wee wizard as a guaranteed starter.
  4. Yes our right side of defence is a problem but who could we realistically of got in to improve them, the players we were linked with were out of our league and the players we could of bought in like Collins or Davies wouldn''t of improved our defence enough to make the finance worth it. Sort of caught in a catch 22.
  5. as individuals other mid table teams may have stronger options but as a unit I believe were still strong enough. Most other teams have in my eyes bought to many players which can upset the balance in the team and take 6 months plus to bed in. Ie spurs with bale, Liverpool with Suarez. I recon we''ve made about the right amount of signings to keep the balance although of course id of prefered a higher calibre but I still recon were okay
  6. I predict it will look like this: Ruddy; Wisdom, Martin, Bassong, Olsson; Dorrans, Tettey; Redmond, Howson, Brady; Mbokani. Subs: Rudd, Jerome, Hooper, Hoolahan, R.Bennett, Jarvis, O''neill. Despite our transfer ''failings'' its not the worst match day 18 by a long stretch, and with mulumbu still to come back we could be looking a lot worse and I for 1 am still quietly confident for the season ahead. 7. We all know that we are after a big, strong Premier League standard striker but alas so far nothing has come to fruition. But there is one who is seemingly available cheap either on loan or permanently, has scored in the Premier League and Internationally and has been quoted in saying he wants to play in the Prem. His name...Mario Balotelli. Yes his wages may be high and he''s clinically insane but are the stories you here any different to what Bassong has allegedly done and Alex Neil seems to have him on the right path so who knows. Yes I know this will never happen but for the small outlay that Liverpool supposedly want I cant think of a technically better striker that him and come the end of the month and he hasn''t moved then stranger things have happened if he wants 1st team football.
  8. I wouldn''t say he''s any better than Jerome who IMO has improved greatly since he joined us and could get 15+ goals if he stays fit, and I agree that Anichibe''s injury record is worse than even James Vaughan, the other Everton prodigy. Out of any of WBA strikers I wouldn''t mind Brown Ideye who looked good at the tail end of last season but wages may be out of our reach.
  9. Darn it should of proof read it. Although if we are after a food signing surely akinfenwa would be the way to go, and well we are after a striker for peanuts!!
  10. Haven''t seen any rumours or anything but with stoke signing Afelley and Shaqiri he could be available. Would be a food signing in my eyes playing either wing or in behind the striker, wouldn''t cost too much either and with more opportunity of first team action may he willing to make a ''step-down''.
  11. Although nothing to do with quality, I''ve just seen Blackpool''s new kit and it is exactly the same template as our away shirt so they cant even say they''re original designs.
  12. it never asked for it on mine, but I did go through a different website to get to it so that''s maybe why. and just pressed the x button if it asked me to log in.
  13. Not sure if this will work but found a stream for the game later if people cant get to Germany. http://neolive.net/25508/1/Watch-Norwich-vs-Maccabi-Haifa-c/
  14. The Head of Retail needs to be shown the door... Or just shown the 3 kits, he can''t of actually seen them surely.
  15. The only third kit I know of is from 1998/99 with the blue with high-vis green and yellow highlights but we were in the 1st division then. Went with the all yellow and all green Bruce Oldfield kits.
  16. I agree that the shorts and socks look good, if only they could of carried on the black with green and yellow piping theme at least then we could of had one acceptable kit, even if it would then be similar to others in the past. On a separate note even the 3rd kit from 1998/99 was better than this!!
  17. I''ve just seen it on the Official twitter page and I agree its the worst of the three!! Looks like a Child''s coloured in a zebra crossing with sick.
  18. I haven''t seen what its like, if anyone has. Going by the other two kits I can see it being half green, half blue with the cathedral spire down the centre to effectively be a huge Aviva advertisement to do away with the squares.
  19. As Maccabi Haifa play in green and white, though mostly green, does it mean that we will be playing in our third kit due to both kits being at least half (minus the square) green, although if that kits white we might have to play skins!!
  20. Just seen that sporting have signed a new striker from river plate so I don''t see them trying to negotiate a move for Ricky again. Will be interesting to see if he''s used in the German tour as, if he is, it would be a clear indication that he is in Alex''s plan for the season.
  21. I saw that too, for roughly the price that was being reported for RVW. perhaps wires crossed in the press??
  22. I wouldn''t mind him coming back but do not see it happening. He could do well in the ''Johnson Role'' cutting in from the left and having a crack. Would be technically superior to Bradley, but seemingly not as hard working. Undoubtedly a good player but without the work-rate fails to be a top player, hence the rumours of a return to city and not the top 6 teams.
  23. I wouldn''t say he''s much of an improvement on Jerome. If we are to sign another striker I''d rather it be a first choice striker than a squad filler.
  24. Don''t want to be one who knows it all but it was the number 20 not 10 on his shirt. Looked similar to darrel Russel with his hair and the number 20.
  25. Sorry to bump up the thread but when I was growing up I had some carpet from the old south stand when it was demolished in my bedroom. Even got it for free, only had to send in a photo of the finished room. Sadly we moved the following year so the hallowed carpet got left behind.
