Culverhouse sacked

Recommended Posts

I would certainly welcome him back. I always felt that he was the brains behind the passion of PL.

Yeah in a fantasy world maybe, I agree though, throughout Lamberts'' success at Norwich he often complimented the contribution which Culverhouse had made. However Adams seems to have already of picked his man, so realistically I doubt there is any chance. Wouldn''t say no though!

Good coach but fear his career is over if the rumours were true!

Lambert didn''t coach that was Culverhouse, look at all the lower league players who improved under his training sessions and then went back to being average once they left the club. Get on the phone Mcnally NOW!
JJ - what rumours?
Alleged bullying. In reality, Lambert was losing the dressing room, and Culverhouse was made the scapegoat. Says a lot about Villa that they do this to avoid compensation, tarring and feathering Culverhouse in the process. At any other club, he would have been quietly paid off.

Considering Villa''s expectations someone was going to take the rap for another dire season, Lambert seemed to feed his right hand man to the wolves in order to buy himself a little more time at the helm.

Or to be a little more succinct, Culverhouse was done up like a kipper.

It''d be a great addition as like many I always felt he was the tactical nouse in the team.
Thanks. Heard the bullying rumour. Wondered if JJ had a bit more info.
All i''ll say is that it seems very odd when a paper breaks a story about club members and controlled substances and all of a sudden he is under investigation!

The controlled substance reports relate to Leeds not Villa.

Sounds a bit far fetched to me.At the time Culverhouse was being suspended Lambert apparently agreed to it. I find it a bit strange that Lambert would''ve stabbed one of his best mates in the back if there hadn''t been a serious breach of club rules. We may now call him all the names under the sun since he left but I think Lambert wouldn''t have stood for a stitch-up.I doubt we''ll ever know what really happened but there''s a bit more to it than meets the eye.

I heard it was because some players complained about his strict training regime with things like how he got didn''t approve of them going out socialising close to a game. It beggars belief. There they are earning loads of money playing football as is the dream of many a man and boy and they complain because they''re told not to do anything that might jeopardise their performance. Unreal.
