Canarychick 0 Posted February 12, 2005 Why he is put up front when he is not a centre forward? His best position is supporting the front two out on the left.
FinnCanary 0 Posted February 12, 2005 Couldn''t agree more but that didn''t lose us the game today. Greeno had really bad day at the office.
Campbell 0 Posted February 12, 2005 Huckerby on the left wing:ProsMore chances to crossCollects the ball deeper, more space to runEnables an out-and-out striker to play alongside AshtonConsHuckerby has to lose the right winger as well as the right back, not easy in the PremiershipLeaves our left back very exposedCan get marked out of the game, becoming ineffectualHuckerby upfront:ProsDrags defenders into positions they don''t want to be, creating space for othersGreat pace in behindGives a better, more solid balance to the team with a true left winger in placeConsCan leave our other striker isolatedFinishing is not Huckerby''s fortePossible lack of creativity from midfield
BedsCanary 0 Posted February 13, 2005 You can have a million and one pros about him playing up front, but none of them are worth anything if he can''t put the ball in the net.Stick Hucks back on the left where he does what he does best; create every single Norwich goal, ever
Northern Canary 0 Posted February 13, 2005 i think he could be deadly up front so surely if he works on his finishing he could be as deadly as i had hoped pre-season

mr.carrow 0 Posted February 13, 2005 Thats always been the problem with Hucks ,that he is more style than substance. Its how hes been at all his clubs
sheded 0 Posted February 13, 2005 Heck .... you just gotta  laugh ....   .... more style than substance ? ..... poor old Hucks eh ? .....can`t do a thing right these days  ..... carried us into the premiership .... is STILL the best player we`ve got .... and he gets stick because he can`t do it all on his own !! ... misses a goal opportunity and the " pundits " rake him over the coals ....  Francis and McKenzie , et al , miss dozens of " sitters " ..and its , " Oh ,they`re going to come good ... only a matter of time " ...etc etc ....yeah
3pmkickoff 0 Posted February 13, 2005 Hucks is awesome in the 1st div. Sadly at this level he''s just an ok player with pace. I''m not knocking what he''s done for the club but some people treat him as the messiah. If you counted all the glorius chances he''s had this season and not put away then we''d be sitting quite comfortably in the table.
Canarychick 0 Posted February 13, 2005 Sheded, I am not having a go at Hucks, just questioned why he has been playing out of position.

ZLF 274 Posted February 14, 2005 As far as citys results are concerned does it really matter where he plays?  With him on the left city created, and scored, nothing as he sits too deep to really hurt the opposition (where were the shed loads of chances missed by Leon etc etc they all happened when Hux was up front)), while conceeding shed loads as the left back gets fros- bite due to over exposure; With him up front we create more, but Hux misses them as his strength is his pace movement and creativity rather than his finishing (if he could finish he would be worth £20m+ and playingin the champs league and not at FCR)   Either way we simply dont create enough chances for the misses to be irrelevant, which is what happens in most other teams. As I said at the start of the season a creative partner in central midfield was essential (along with strengthening the back line ), we are still waiting. Hux does need his partner to work with him and given he is our most talented player by far its about time Worthy got the striker (or team) to play around hux and get an understanding rather than saying its hux who isolates his partner - isnt that what the training pitch is for?? Hux has been our most consistent performer this season, whichever position he plays in. I think he is most effective for us while playing as one of the pair, others disagree but what we cant do is drop him,  play without him and we are a mid table fizzy pop team. Saint Canary 0 Posted February 14, 2005 Why is Hux up front? It''s simple, he has played there for Lincoln, Newcastle, Coventry, Leeds and Man City. It''s his position, he is just simply out-of-form in front of goal that''s all. We could afford the luxury of playing him on the left last season but not in the PL. BedsCanary 0 Posted February 14, 2005 Actually he played on the left for Lincoln. They used to playe 4-4-1-1 with Ainsworth a sole striker and Hucks in his "leftish" position.Look at all the goals Norwich City have scored this season and how many have been set up by Hucks. 90pc of them. Those who say he isn''t up to Premiership standard want to think about where we''d be without him and his assists... we''d be rock bottom of this division and probably relegated allready
